A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE ON THE AM SHIFT
Lorries arrive full of stock Stock arrives from our suppliers to be unloaded and is checked against the days delivery manifests.
Tipping lorries
The team tip the lorries and bring the stock into the warehouse ready to be booked in.

Finish putting away stock
After lunch, the warehouse team finish putting away all stock that was delivered that day.
Putting stock away
After booking in the stock that has been received on the system, the team use the VNA, pallet trucks & pump trucks to put the stock away in allocated areas.

The team book in the stock, ready to be put away in allocated stock locations.
Jargon buster:
Tipping lorries - unloading lorries that have a rear platform that can be raised, which enables the load to be taken off.
Check over manifests for the next day & home time Before the shift is over, the team check over the manifest for the next day so they are ready for deliveries in the morning.
VNA - a Very Narrow Aisle truck is a compact pallet racking system which increases the stock capacity in the warehouse.
Manifest - a document generated by suppliers/ couriers containing delivery information, showing what stock is being delivered.
