DANBURY SPORTS & SOCIAL CENTRE The Centre is managed by Danbury Community Association (Trust) Limited, a registered charity and our aim is to provide the residents of Danbury and the surrounding villages with facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure. Our Lifestyle Fitness Suite is a superb facility with the latest high-tech cardiovascular machines and a full range of weight resistance equipment. One to one personal training is available at affordable prices. In addition we offer a wide range of activities for you and your family to enjoy. We are open early until late in the evening to allow you to fit sport and leisure into your busy lifestyle. OUR GYM FACILITY In partnership with Lifestyle Fitness, we are committed to providing the perfect gym environment so you can – exercise on the best equipment, have access to the most highly-trained staff – and still pay, a perfectly reasonable price. We have installed the latest Star Trac cardio-vascular equipment and Life Fitness resistance machines. Personal Training
We believe that a personal training programme should reflect your lifestyle, giving you the best chance of making a real change to your well-being. Whether you want to lose weight, gain muscle or simply lead a healthier lifestyle, we can help by providing support, motivation and advice. Our personal trainers will advise you on the best way to keep your body healthy – from cardio and strength training to diet and nutrition. We’ll regularly assess your progress, adjust your training programme where necessary and offer helpful advice.

Getting started
As part of the joining procedure you will have been asked to complete a simple questionnaire. For your safety, one of our Instructors will discuss this with you to determine what it is you want to achieve. A personalised programme will then be developed. The Instructor will then give you training on each piece of equipment you will use in your programme. You will be given a card detailing your programme. You will also be given a series of exercises to warm up before commencing your routine and to cool down when you have finished. This Induction usually takes no more than an hour.
Membership
We operate two types of membership: All Inclusive, which gives unlimited use of the gym and fitness classes Unlimited use of the gym only
For both memberships the initial term is for 12 months and this can either be paid in a lump sum or by monthly Direct Debit. There are various categories: Single, one member only Joint, two family members Family, two adults and two children under 18 years Student, one member under 18 or in full time education

We have 2 function rooms available for hire and can accommodate up to 300 people quite easily. The larger room has its own adjacent licensed bar. Relax with friends and enjoy a drink in our bar at club prices. We also serve the cheapest fresh coffee in the area. Celebrate, commiserate or discuss tactics for your next activity. Improve on a sport or activity you have tried before or have a go at a new one. Membership allows you to do just that and at preferential prices. NOTE: If you are a member of a snooker club and want to play your matches at our wonderful facility, mention this to our reception staff or call 01245 224515 for details.
ROOM HIRE
The ‘Dawson Suite’ This is fully air-conditioned room licensed to cater for 100 people perfectly suited for your private party, business meeting or public meeting for that matter. There is an adjacent kitchen and licenced bar. The dimensions of the are 11 metres long, 8.9 metres wide and 2.9 metres high.
Prices: £25 per hour from 9-5pm £30 per hour from 5pm-12midnight
The Old Pavilion Located at the top of the main car park, this facility is ideal for the smaller private function. There is a kitchen area for preparing tea and coffee.
Price: £20 per hour
SPORTSHALL Our Sports Hall is licensed to cater for 300. It has ‘ambient’ lighting for evening events with its inclusive bar. The room is ideal for all private occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, wedding receptions, corporate meetings etc. The dimensions are 17 metres square and 6.8 metres high.
Prices: £40 per hour from 9-5pm £45 per hour from 5pm to 12 midnight
