ROAR TO THE SHORE - WILDWOOD 2015 -

WILD WOOD, nj • SEPTEMBER 10TH-13TH, 2015

story ridin’ & pics by Lutz

This is a one of a kind motorcycle rally, held in Wildwood, NJ, that took place this past September and covered every square inch of town. What makes Roar to the Shore a crowd favorite, besides the fact that it’s free? It’s centralized location. Wildwood, New Jersey is located 150 miles or less from most major east coast cities; including, Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore and Washington D.C. - there’s no need to trailer your bikes to this rally. Once you’re here, just sit back, relax and enjoy the festivities. Take advantage of the scenic back road rides Cape May County has to offer. High quality vendors were located throughout the five separate lots, with stunt shows, custom bike shows, live music and other numerous special events. Fast Lane Biker

The Me You See

He sat by the window watching dawn appear streams of morning's sun lighting the reflection of his thinning hair mostly white and grey not quite reaching his gristle'd beard shortened only by time his God reclaiming strand after strand. He gazed at his Harley sitting - waiting for a run It was then he heard her laughter echo sweetly dancing across his mind waking visions as clear to him as the breaking day

© Lee Buddah Haverstick, Black Rose Poetry™, Road Scribes Of America ™ Twist And Ride Let us ride Like the cops are right behind us Lights and sirens on On a highway where There's no turning back And we might wind up going down Ride it like we stole it Even though it's ours Ride like there's no tomorrow 'Cause there just might not be one Where every shadow is a screaming demon And the wind it shrieks and howls Where the past and present come together At a hundred miles an hour Let us pick up all the pieces Of a broken life Fit them all together Let us twist and ride

Her smile in his mirror arms locked - secure snug around his waist her thighs pressing in he feels her body lean always - in-sync - with his And though her soul rests somewhere among the stars her spirit still rides with him her smile and her gentleness his eternal compass home. Daylight This old saddle tramp rides his Harley’s proud One growls deeply and the other screams loud Back now riding in the southern wind It feels so good to do that again I’m not much to look at, all weathered and worn Patches on my cut are all tattered and torn What you don’t realize when you look at me Is this old road dog is earning his PhD With plans to be a professor and teach one day Online classes are the only way I’m pretty crippled up with bad hips and back But found the right way on a wrong way track I thank God I’m not the man I used to be The scores been settled and I’m a new me It took many years to get it right I lost two wives because I didn’t treat them right But who and what I am now makes me feel good It took 50 years to grow up the way I should If you see me down the road one day I may be Dr. Buddah, that’s pretty cool to say

KNOW THE LAW BY ATTORNEY STEVE STAMBAUGH

T

his month I will update you on two key and still pending pieces of Pennsylvania Legislation and will also discuss two sneak attacks on your Second Amendment Rights, one at the National level and the other in the State of Florida. Let’s get to it. House Bill 950 - Ride On Red: This Bill does what it’s Title says, we get to Ride on Red when our bikes fail to trigger a light change. We need this Bill. It is slowly working its way through the House having been tabled on September 21, 2015. Please call your State House Representative and let him/her know that you support this Bill and that it needs to come to a full vote in the House so it can move to the Senate. Being an ABATE Life Member, I might as well give ABATE a plug as they have tirelessly pushed this Bill on all our behalfs. Join ABATE !!! Senate Bill 928 - I don’t like this Bill. The current minimum required liability coverages in Pennsylvania are $15,000.00 / $30,000.00 per person / per occurrence with $5,000.00 in property damage. The Senate wants to increase these limits to $25,500.00 / $50,000.00 per person / per occurrence with $15,000.00 in property damage. I view this proposed change as nothing less than making the bulk of Pennsylvania drivers pay higher premiums to underwrite liability claims in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The update is that SB 928 went to a vote in the Senate and it passed: 46 yea votes, 3 nay votes. When the Republicans and the Democrats agree to this degree, regular people get screwed. If you don’t want your insurance rates to spike to underwrite liability claims in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, then you need to call your House Representatives now. At the National level, the Obama Administration’s efforts to limit or otherwise restrict our Second Amendment Rights continue. The most recent attack came via the social Security Administration, which OCTOBER, 2015

31

was being directed to report anyone who is adjudicated as a “mental defective” to the NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Check System). Obviously, a person can be a mental defective and not a threat to anyone. The NRA exposed this Executive Administrative attack in response to which the Social Security Administration backed down under threat of suit. Vigilance and a willingness to fight is everything. Next, for whatever reason, the Medical community has declared war on the Second Amendment. We know that doctors using Obamacare are required to ask patients if they have guns in the home, how many, are they locked, etc. Well, that dictate trickled down to the Sunshine State in response to which pro-gun Florida politicians passed the Florida Firearm Owner’s Privacy Act, which enabled Florida medical patients to refuse to answer all such questions. In another Court victory, the 11th Circuit Court o Appeals upheld Florida’s Privacy Act, which means that doctor’s can no longer ask gun questions while having you turn your head and cough. Last, please remember to put Saturday, November 7th on your calendar for YCHDOA’s 19th Annual David R. Milliken Derr Jr. TOY RUN to Penn State Children’s Hospital at the Hershey Medical Center. You will love our scenic route, which leaves York and goes through the woods and pastures of Lancaster and Lebanon Counties. The Toy Run provides enough money and toys to last the children throughout the year. Remember, this is a guided run and, with good weather, is huge, with several hundred bikes each year. See the ad in this issue, details at www.YCHDOA. com This is the last big Run of the Year so get it while you still can. See you on the road.
