Hello Everyone, August is here at last as I type this letter from the Editor. Social media is going crazy with people posting pictures of their trip out to Sturgis. There were a lot of great events this Summer and the biggest and the best local events are still yet to come Englishtown Harley day, Summer festival and then Atco Raceway. The bad thing about that It also means the Summer is winding down. This time next month after I type this article I’ll be heading down too Wildwood for Roar to the Shore then to Delmarva the following week. In early October, I’m back to Wildwood for the Race of Gentlemen. It’s gonna be a busy the next few months for us. I hope to see you all out at these events .

Jam on productions motorcycle swap meet Pennsylvania farm show complex • Harrisburg Pennsylvania • November, 16th 2014

story ridin’ & pics by Lutz

Definitely one of the best swap meets in the northeast is this event! This swap meet will cure the blues and help you find what you’ve been looking for to spruce up your bike. Jam on productions is run by a well seasoned crew that know what to do when it comes to a motorcycle swap meet. They have been around motorcycles and riding for years. This swap meet is held several times a year and always has endless parts available... ya just gotta dig sometimes through the bins to find what you need, but hell that’s half the fun! Tires, tanks, engines, transmissions and far way too much to mention... new and used parts all at great prices too. I’m not sure where you wanna start? Many a classic motorcycle are on display which can get your mind going... knucklehead, panhead, shovelhead, blockhead. Maybe it’s time to start building (or finishing) that classic you always wanted to construct... but no doubt you can find the parts here! Another cool thing that this swap meet has is that towards the end of the show they do a motorcycle parts auction. Parts goin’ to the highest bidder... you just may find that part really cheap, I guess the only way to find out is come and check it out!

KNOW THE LAW BY ATTORNEY STEVE STAMBAUGH

T

his month I will update you on two previously discussed pieces of pending Pennsylvania legislation. First, the Pennsylvania Senate has passed Senate Bill 928, which seeks to increase the minimum required liability coverages in Pennsylvania from $15,000.00 / $30,000.00 per person / per occurrence with $5,000.00 in property damage TO $25,500.00 / $50,000.00 perperson / per occurrence with $15,000.00 in property damage. As I stated in the last issue, this proposed change in the law is nothing less than making the bulk of Pennsylvania drivers pay higher premiums to underwrite liability claims in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The only way to stop this Philadelphia backed law is to swamp your local House Representatives with calls, emails and letters against the change. The second proposed law is, in my personal opinion, a good and much needed change - to allow hunting on Sunday. The Sunday Hunting Law (formerly the Farina / Godshall Bill) now has a number, which is House Bill 1374. I think this change is long overdue as many hunters have to work Saturdays in addition to which it is easier for families and friends to hunt together on a Sunday than weekdays and/or Saturdays. Plus, there will be fewer hunters in the woods on any given day if you add Sunday, which makes hunting safer and possibly more productive. Whether you agree or disagree, you should make your position known by contacting your House Representative and State Senator. Fast Lane Biker

Last, as you know, the House and Senate are locked in a budget battle with Governor Tom Wolf. Among the most disputed issues is property tax reform. Property tax reform is long long long overdue. I have studied Governor Wolf’s proposed budget in detail on this topic. Distilled to its essence, Governor Wolf’s “reform” is nothing more than a tax grab that would steal money from suburbs and the countryside, and transfer those stolen monies to Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and various other inner cities throughout the Commonwealth. I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of throwing good money after bad into the inner cities. Baltimore City is among the top recipients in terms of Federal and State monies and look where Baltimore is now - a refuge for criminals and illegal aliens. If you agree that enough is enough, call your House Representative and State Senator and tell him/her to hold the line and insist on true property tax reform - which is the elimination of all property taxes, period. If you want to effect the Laws we live under, call, write or email your elected representatives and let your voice be heard. Last and as always, please check out www.ychdoa.com and www.ndhpmf.com for upcoming rides. See you on the road,

Toy run foundation toy run 2014 Southern Regional Middle School • Manahawkin, NJ. • October 5, 2014

story ridin’ & pics by Lutz

Some riders have the feeling of dread as the season turns towards winter signaling far less warm riding days. But for many, it also opens up rides that go right along with the cold and the spirit of the end of the year, holidays. One holiday that most like is Christmas time and all the festive that goes along with it. Unfortunately when times are tough not all have a great time and many motorcyclists are very well known to help out with just that... lending a hand for those in need. Toy runs are a traditional that bikers hold in high esteem. There are many nationwide larger toy runs but nothing beats (for some) keeping the help local. 14 years ago Dennis Jarring, an avid motorcyclist and local police officer, along with his family and friends, wanted to help the local community and started a small but successful toy run. Currently it has become much larger and very successful and have made many a family have a better holiday season. The toy run starts at Southern Regional Middle School parking lot, Manahawkin, NJ. The sign up for the run and toys are collected at 12:30 and than the roar of 100’s of bikes start up, signaling the start of the ride. The ride is 65 miles long with police motorcycle escorted the group. This ride takes you through the south Jersey pines and ends up at St. Mary’s Parish Center in Manahawkin. Refreshments, food and entertainment are enjoyed by the many motorcyclists that come out to support this event. I personally have been to most of the foundations toy runs through the years and I’m very happy that this one is still is doing very well. I mark it as a “ to do” run year after year, so don’t put that bike on the battery tender yet and get one more ride in and check it out!

Ride Free Sucker for Sin

© Bob “Bikerwolf” Bryant RSOA ™

Can’t save no money When you're pay'n dues Ain't nothin' funny Be’n stuck in the blues Always win for lose'n so deal me in Guess I'm just a sucker for sin Had a love'n baby She made a happy home Think'n lately maybe I should've never roamed Now another fella has moved right on in ‘cause I was a sucker for sin Sucker for sin, somewhat twisted Sucker for sin, can’t resist it Sucker for sin, far as I can see Sucker for sin, I’m my own worst enemy Got to shake this black cloud My fair weather friends Find me a new crowd But that all depends

The Pen and the Wind Through the pen and the wind I find what I have lost It’s a small price to pay at any cost I can lose my mind without my pen But can always find it in the wind again A freedom that only a biker poet knows But maybe others I suppose Always searching for the next line Of the road and for the rhyme Leaving the fear in rear view mirrors Eyes dripping with wind-blown tears The four winds will always blow me back To the right way on a one way track And I will have found just what I need Through the Road the pen and the wind indeed © Lee Buddah Haverstick, Black Rose Poetry™, Road Scribes Of America ™

Man of the road Asphalt ribbon leading your way Your shadow keeping you company Sometimes riding right, sometimes left In front, or behind Country side forever changing your view Morning, noon, night Never to be young again, except in heart You are less bold than days passed by Yet wiser than those same days You ride, the highways, and the byways It keeps your mind sharp, Your soul free and clear Never shall you feel confined For confinement could destroy your very soul You were made to ride To live a certain way Unbound, un-caged, roaming Freely On the roads of life, The roads less traveled, Yet with the same final destination as any man Until that day, Ride Free Brothers Ride Free

Whether or not I get dragged back in Welcome back you sucker for sin Need'n steel n thunder Wheels to blow this place Get me out from under Spin'n in one place Ride along with Brothers who know where I've been Call ourselves the Suckers of Sin, oh ya.... Throttles twisted Can't resist it... "Suckers for Sin"

Adjusts her attire To the days heat. Ready to ride. Excited as hell. She had a few nerves Her man could tell. “Just hold on to me I won’t let you fall, It’s the freedom of the wind We are chasing after all.” They rolled out the drive. Her grip was tight. “Don’t worry Sunshine, It’s gonna be all right.” When a lady rides With her man, She places her life In the palm of his hand. © Rhonda “Dark Angel” Cain Road Scribes Of America ™

Riding with Bro's Down the highway of life Throttle past regrets And right through the strife On down the road No glory or fame Content on our rides Life in the fast lane We ride to live One mile at a time And live to ride Well past our prime Old school rules That's how we play Until our last ride Takes us away © Sorez The Scribe Road Scribes Of America ™

Throwing Letters at the Wall Words are swords of feeling Unsheathed from time to time They are worse than flesh wounds They carve scars into the mind. Where some carry concealed heat I’m in possession of a pen So I can write the words I see From a time you call back when. I can sketch a verbal sunset Describe a stately pine so tall I can see what others miss I can discard what I don’t want Like throwing letters at the wall

At times we may not see eye to eye Yet, I’ll always watch your back To ever stand and take the blow Should you come under attack At times we may not part as friends Yet, I’ll never leave you behind To ever walk the road ahead When life has left you blind At times we may not shake hands Yet, I’ll never be out of reach To ever stand in Brotherhood To practice what we preach
