ello everyone August is here and the Summer season is in full swing . There has been quite a few events this Summer and they all seem to be doing well as far as attendance goes . The weather on the weekends has been just about perfect for all events this year and let’s hope it stays that way. We’ve been making some format changes here at FASTLANEBIKER over the last few Months . We’ve decided after countless emails and phone calls to feature one import bike every Month and one Harley Davison every Month. This will be just one of the changes we will be making over the next few Months .

AHDRA NORTHEAST NATIONAL NITRO DRAGS MAY 19-20, 2012 • ATCO NJ
STORY RIDIN’ AND PICS BY LUTZ
Great day for drag racing but even better when it’s on 2 wheels! It’s even better gettin’ there on 2 wheels and with that we hopped on our scoots and putted down to Atco Raceway in Atco, NJ to see some rea.a.a.a.ly fast Harley Davidsons! From street machines, all the way to nitro breathin’ monsters, this event gets them all. Sit back in the bleachers grab an “adult” beverage (of your choice), grab some grub from one of the track food vendors and settle in for some drag racing! Sportsman class, pro class all lookin’ to get some low numbers at the finish line and high number payouts in the end. If you where waiting to see your favorite racer/class run and had a little time, take a walk through the pits and check out the action at ground level and get a pic or two with your favorite racer and or bike. Additionally one of my favs is checking out what bikes are in the parking area, usually there are some cool motorcycles to eyeball there too. With all that happening I’m seeing smoke and smellin’ nitro in the air, time to get back to the stands and have some fun.

THE GATHERING OF THE TRIBES
AUGUST 20/21st 2011 • MT. HOLLY NJ
STORY RIDIN’ AND PICS BY LUTZ
Now most people associate Sunday with church while some other people associate sunday with “get out on the bike and go for a ride!” But when you put the two together youll probably get a person that loves God and their motorcycle. For one weekend, this brings both together to an event held near Mt. Holly NJ called “The Gathering of the Tribes”. The events purpose is to raise donations and awareness to aid Christian substance abuse programs. Christian motorcycle riders, clubs, family and friends all come out to support this and from havin’ been there several times though the years, a good time is had by all. Of course, prayer and fellowship are in order but great bbq and live christian music (involving some very well known musicians I might add), bike games and even this year, a wedding! So if you want to check out this event it truely is not much different than most bike events, all are welcome to have a good time.

ASK THE ATTORNEY BY: LEE D. GABER, ESQUIRE 1-888-CYCLE-LAW • LeeGaber@cycleattorney.com • www.cycleattorney.com With virtually every new claim my office takes in, at some point there is a discussion about if and when we are forced to file a lawsuit, which county would be the best for a motorcycle accident case to be filed? Most clients, after hearing my typical speech about which counties will return the highest verdict for someone injured in a motorcycle accident, understand that in Pennsylvania, the best counties to file a lawsuit are generally Philadelphia and Alleghany counties and in New Jersey, generally, most of the northern counties, given their proximity to New York, usually return the highest verdicts. However, the law generally restricts where we are allowed to file suit. After giving this speech to current and former clients for well over twenty years, many still have difficulty understanding it, because as they ride their motorcycles, they see many other bikes on the road and it leads them to believe that if they do end up facing a jury trial, the pool of potential jurors will be filled with other motorcycle riders. However that is rarely the case. In many of the jury trials I have been involved with over the years, you would be surprised that a majority of the people sitting on the panel have never been on a motorcycle, nor do they have any desire to ride one, and therefore we generally end up with a jury panel of between 8-12 people, most of which don’t have much sympathy for an injured biker. A perfect example can be observed in local counties such as Montgomery, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Northampton and Bucks. If you go for a ride, you will see motorcycles on almost every street which may lead you to believe that if a jury trial becomes necessary, those are the “peers” you are going to see waiting to be selected to sit on your jury. However, the reality is that most of the individuals that get selected to serve on the jury have never operated a
FA S T L A N E B I K E R
motorcycle and carry with them the negative feelings about those who enjoy riding, believing that there is an inherit risk that comes with operating a motorcycle. Although Pennsylvania is fifth in the number of registered motorcycles with almost 900,000 bikes licensed and registered, when you compare that number to the number of residents that are over 18 and are eligible to sit on a jury panel, you quickly come to realize that most of the potential jurors do not ride a motorcycle. If you factor that in along with the state of our overall economy, your going to find that most juries are not looking to award large amounts of money to an individual who is complaining about neck or back pain unless there are substantial residual injuries from surgery or loss the loss of the ability to work. The bottom line is, “The Best” cases settle out of Court and unfortunately cases where there is a question as to liability and/or the severity of the injuries are the ones that end up in front of a jury. Fortunately, given the types of motorcycle accident claims that we handle, we have been extremely successful in settling a large majority of our clients’ cases well before trial ever becomes necessary. As a firm that primarily focuses on motorcycle accident and injures, we are able to ensure that your case gets the attention it deserves! As always, if upon reading this material you have any questions regarding this topic or any others, please feel free to contact me at LeeGaber@cycleattorney.com or 1-888-CYCLE-LAW (1-888-292-5352).
