FAREWELL TO THE ROAD
February 2012 Vol. 11 Issue 2
A rider’s best friend. Why do so many riders choose Rider Insurance? Maybe it’s our great rates, excellent coverage, and hassle free service. Or the fact that our Claims Adjusters have motorcycle specific expertise. Could be our built-in accessories coverage, which is unmatched in the industry. We’d like to think that the real reason is the simple fact that we’re as loyal to our customers as they are to us.

FAREWELL TO THE ROAD
W
Cherry, Nickleback and so many others I can’t name them all. I have done rally’s with 100’s of thousands of attendees and some with 100’s of people. So as you can see I have been all over this world but the best time was meeting the riders who came from all over to see us and not necessarily buy any thing but just to shake my hand or take a picture of one of my scooters. If I recall correctly, the first rally I did with Strip Club Choppers was Daytona bike week 2005. So, it is fitting Daytona 2012 will be the last rally for the SCC freightliner. Stop by and see us if you are inclined. From now on the rallys will be handled by the state franchises and we will make appearances at their booths if they will have us, LOL. I would like to personally thank everyone who has patronized our booth and I hope to see you on the road. This will also be the final Johnny and Jay from the road article so thanks for reading.
hen I started Strip Club Choppers in 2004 I did every rally I could no matter how far away or how big or small. This philosophy allowed me to attend rally’s all over North America . I’ve attended the wharf rat rally in Nova Scotia Canada while watching the whales and meeting some of the friendliest people I traveled to Mexican bike week in Mazatlan with some of the most beautiful women while being escorted by the federal police with AK-47’s. I have attended rally’s from Washington State to Key West and from Laconia to So Cal and all points in between. I have attended rally’s where we were not allowed to put out our dance poles and I have attended adult rally’s where they used my party tent as a fully operational strip club. I have attended Sturgis for a decade and seen some of the most beautiful scenery and had my rig destroyed by softball size hail one year. I have been fortunate to hang out with some great people including Kid Rock, Vince Neil, Steven Tyler, Evil Knievel, Goldberg, 7 Mary 3, Dee Snider, Billy the Exterminator, Phil Collen, Playboy Playmates, Carlos Mencia, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Buck

ASK THE ATTORNEY BY: LEE D. GABER, ESQUIRE 1-888-CYCLE-LAW • LeeGaber@cycleattorney.com • www.cycleattorney.com you are seeing. The failure to do so, is often seized upon by the insurance company’s attorneys and will be used against you if litigation commences. Receiving fair compensation has unfortunately become a battlefield and I urge each of you to understand that any statement you make, or fail to make, to a medical provider, can and will be used against you if it will help the other side minimize your recovery. While this may seem incredulous, after 21 years litigating personal injury cases, it has become more about winning and losing than fair compensation. On another note, I just saw a T.V. commercial wherein an insurance company is suggesting that if you place some sort of computer drive into your car which monitors the way you drive, this may lower your premiums if you are a safe driver. While on its face this may seem like a good idea, please understand that insurance companies generally do not come out with new innovations such as this, unless they believe it is going to benefit their bottom line. There is always a flip side, what if in their opinion, you are an “unsafe” driver? Will they raise your premiums or potentially drop you? I don’t want anyone monitoring my driving every second of every day….. do you! I hope you find this information informative and if you would like additional information on this topic, or any other, I can always be reached at HYPERLINK “mailto:LeeGaber@cycleattorney. com” LeeGaber@cycleattorney.com or 1-888-CYCLE-LAW (1-888-292-5352).
If you ever find yourself in need of medical care as a result of an accident, either through an E.R., a specialist, or family doctor, it is vitally important to advise the medical personnel of every body part that has been injured and is causing pain. Depending on the individual, you may encounter resistance because they are the “arm”, “neck” or “back” Dr., however, regardless of the specialty, you must advise of each and every ailment you are having on that day. Why is this important? Unfortunately, if there are several visits to a Dr. to check on a specific body part, but you also experience pain in other areas, believe it or not, if these other complaints are not in the doctor’s notes, the adverse insurance company or attorney will argue that if those complaints are not in the medical records, then you must not have been experiencing pain in those other areas on those dates. As absurd as this sounds, this is a phenomenon that we are encountering on a daily basis, especially when a client has multiple injuries but the majority of their care involves a specific body part. In some cases, the physician may legitimately treat only one specific body part, but a refusal to treat different body parts on one visit may be because they will only be reimbursed for that one visit. Although this may sound cynical, as I am writing this column, I am reading an article from CNNMoney. com titled “Doctors Going Broke”, which advises that although inconvenient, many Dr.’s will force clients to come back on different days so they can be reimbursed for treating various body parts. Sadly, this financial reality is now forcing some physicians to practice this way in order to keep their practices afloat. Regardless of what the Dr. tells you, it is imperative that although you may be receiving care for one body part, if you are experiencing pain in other areas, you explain this to whoever

VINTAGE BIKES... SCREW ALL THAT NEW CHOPPER CRAP!!
YOU KNOW, the
ready!!!!! Okay, okay, sorry about that, got a little ahead of myself. So, anywho, we have another cool project we are starting on. A 54 or so BSA a-10, in a hard tail frame, and a lot of cool ideas happening on this thing. The owner has thought it out. He has been trying to get this bike built for a year or two and basically got nowhere. Some work was started, never fi nished, not done well at all, and the usual. So the bike comes in and, as soon as I saw it, I knew it had tremendous potential. The ideas this guy has puts this bike right out of the sixties, if it all comes together properly. The basic idea is true old school with old stuff. Foot clutch, jockey shift, short rear fender, and no fender up front. No polished stuff, no chrome stuff where it is not needed or wanted. Bare bones as it gets. So you have to start this one the old way.
craze now is everybody has to have a chopper, or the next new thing, a bobber. I am sorry, and I hate to have to say this, but more than half of the guys that are buying this new old school stuff wouldn’t know a chopper or a bobber if it ran them over. What I really mean is, no sense of being polite, sorry…. THEY DON’T KNOW SHIT. Half of these clowns weren’t around when that was happening, they don’t have a clue. The late 60`s and seventies, it was still going on, but it started before that, and became out of style when the full custom thing came around, and there is the TV thing also. Don’t get me started on that whole thing. Been doing this bike thing since the mid sixties, and have seen the whole bike world change, and all for the good I have to say. But give it a f##$%&’ rest alFA S T L A N E B I K E R

For those of you who don’t know, it is called kick start. No magic button hear. If you look at the pictures, you can see it is nowhere near done, but it could be a gem in the ruff. It is all bare metal, some parts are welded on (even though they are crooked as hell) and some are tacked in place. The oil tank is made from an artillery shell and is really cool. The rest, well to put it mildly, needs some regrouping of sorts. So this is going to be a job that will take time and use all that stuff tucked away in the back of my noggin to put it all tighter and come out looking like it should. See, you can’t buy this kind of bike, unless someone builds it and sells it, you know what I mean. This guy put time and effort into this idea he had. He didn’t go to a dealer and plunk down a chunk of money and finance the rest, as is the popular thing to do anymore.

So after talking to TANK for a while, got the drift as to what he wants, we went to work. Gotta make all the clutch and brake controls for this, and keep his fl oorboards. Gotta make the rear fender straight in the frame, battery box, and all the usual things that make it work. I am just getting started on this project, and the season is upon us, but it will get done this summer. I just thought this is cool and you guys would like to see something different in the making. AND I PROMISE, I will follow this build in the mag for ya. I am into this one, no problem. See ya when I see ya,
