Hello Everyone,

www.mcnabbstudios.com

and welcome to the November issue of FAST LANE BIKER. The leaves are turning a little late this year and the weather has been perfect for riding. Let’s hope that continues into November but only time will tell... I guess. Next month the international show comes to the Jacob Javitz Center in New York City. I know it seems like it’s a long time from now But it’s really not. There were a lot of great events through out the Tri-State area this month, please review the listings on page 29. It’s sad to see the riding season come to a close.

Hellraisers m/c spring party 2015

Philadelphia, PA • april 24, 2015

story ridin’ & pics by Lutz

I always love riding to Philadelphia, lots of stuff to do... cheesesteaks, concerts, sports events, riding down narrow streets setting off car alarms! But one of the best things I like to do in the city of brotherly love is check out the motorcycle scene, obviously! And one party that is held in Philly is put on by Hellraisers m/c. Two times a year, Hellraisers m/c puts on a party and like there saying “Ain’t no party like a Hellraisers party”... thats the truth! The party is held at their clubhouse, the outside the street motorcycles where lined up from one end of the block to the other. Once inside its all you can eat and drink… now that’s a party! And that’s not all, a DJ or sometimes a band, gets the party started with some cool tunes. Laid out are trays off food, Tony Luke’s pork, meatballs, roast beef, etc to fill your belly. Meanwhile back at the bar, did i mention all u can eat AND drink?! Many clubs and friends come out to make this party making it a “to do” on the check list. As the night went on a few door prizes where drawn to a few happy winners. Looking around the room you can catch a good vibe as everyone is definitely enjoying this one you almost don’t wanna leave.......

Thankful For Brothers and Sisters by my side As I travel through life On this arduous ride Wind weathered skin From years on the road Never a cage Have I ever owned Two boots and pavement When I was a lad A twinkle in my eye And a wrench in my hand Always a bike Being built in between The miles of downtime The sorrows I've seen The horizon a vision A fresh paved road Hopes and dreams They would unfold A greybeard now The past is behind So thankful for The miles I ride

This Season's Ride The Black Rose That Bleeds Fall colors, light my eyes... Leaves, they fall as I fly by... In the center of the darkened room Winds are cooler...still feel great. Upon a little round table of mahogany Autumn, I appreciate... With spindly legs like that of a spider Bugs retreat...now not so many. Stands a sparkling crystal vase Summer's heat...there isn't any... Resting in this crystal vase Road's still dry...but not for long... Is a solitary black rose Engine hums a righteous song... The black rose that bleeds Rubber rolls...brings smooth relief... Why it bleeds only I know Pleasure stolen like a thief... The black rose is my soul Taking in...enjoying it.... And the drops of blood shed This season's ride...a perfect fit... Come from wounds inflicted Winter's next...around the bend... Soon...these rides will have to end... © Chris ‘Knuchlehead’ Webb What is life without the seasons? Road Scribes Of America ™ Nature, Earth...all share reason. Time will do it's endless thing, bringing yet, another Spring... Once again the bike will zing... The Crossroads © Panhead Rod - RSOA ™

Winters coming, I know it I can feel it in my bones Time to put away the bike Time to mumble and groan It’s time to start the tear down Time to mend her minor aches Time to get her ready for next year Time to replace those near worn brakes It’s time for a good cleaning Pay attention to her details Time to repay for the last few months The ones she handled so well It’s time to show her I love her That she is still a part of my soul Let her know when the spring winds start blowing Together we’ll be ready to roll

I’ll meet you at the crossroads where the traffic moves so fast We can sit an’ talk, an’ think , an’ laugh an’ watch the hassle goin’ past Just talkin’ ‘bout the time of day allows it all to slip away An’ though yesterday does tomorrow feed today is the day we really need I’ll meet you at the crossroads where the traffic moves so fast We can sit an’ talk , be happy an’ cry watchin’ everyone goin’ by But know your speed and set your pace stay a step ahead in the race Life is short and often fast steppin’ through the future into the past So when at the crossroads we do meet check the ground beneath your feet And try to recall , if you may when in your life there was a day That all the traffic just wasn’t so fast Getting’ through the future into the past © JoPo circa 1970 Road Scribes of America ™ 2012

2015 Easyriders magazine bike show columbus, oh • february 21, 2015

story ridin’ & pics by Lutz

Its cold, spring isn’t here yet and I have the mood to check out a really smokin’ bike show... so in the cage (yes cage!) and 500 miles west we arrive in Columbus, Ohio to checkout the Easyriders 2015 Bike Show. It wasn’t much better weather in Ohio either but since the show was held in the Greater Columbus Convention Center and being heated inside there was no worries! Easyriders magazine is very well known for putting on a great event and once inside that was evident. All the best local as well from different parts of the states and Canada brought out there finest rides to display. Many vendors had spots selling everything motorcycle related items, additionally celebrities like Paul Yaffe from Bagger Nation, John Shope from Dirty Bird and legendary builder Ron Finch, were there to show there stuff! While you checked out the assortment of some of the coolest bikes on display, live bands filled the air with music and a “fashion” show took place on stage. Lots of walking and pictures worth the ride to break those winter blues.

KNOW THE LAW BY ATTORNEY STEVE STAMBAUGH

to Tier 3 (as they are illegal as to you). Last, even prescription drugs prescribed to you but which have rendered you impaired likewise take you to Tier 3. The other critical factor in Pennsylvania’s DUI law is whether the charged offense is your first, second, third, fourth or more offense. The more you repeat offend, the harder the law will hit you in terms of mandatory minimum license suspensions and mandatory minimum periods of imprisonment. Other important factors are whether you caused an accident, whether anyone was injured, whether minor children were present in your vehicle, and many others. Suffice it to say that Pennsylvania’s DUI law is designed to hit hard and there are many factors that the District Attorney can use to escalate your charges and thus your penalties. Bottom line, plan ahead so you have a designated driver ready to go. I will cover the ARD Program and the mandatory minimums in next month’s article. Watch out for the idiots and, this time of year, the leaves and deer. See you on the road.

his month I will take a break from law changes and, given all the Christmas decorations I see in the stores, I figured that now is a good time to give everyone a refresher on Pennsylvania’s DUI laws in advance of the upcoming Thanksgiving Weekend parties followed by the inevitable Christmas and New Year’s parties. While this may not be the happiest reminder, forewarned is forearmed. Pennsylvania law classifies offenders by the level of their BAC (blood alcohol content), which is separated into 3 tiers. The higher your Tier, the greater your penalties. Tier 1 is the “lowest” rate and covers BAC’s of .08% to .099%. Tier 2 is called a “high”“ rate and covers BACs of .10% to .159%. Last, Tier 3 is the “highest” rate and covers BACs of .16% and above. For perspective, a 12 oz. can of beer (4-4.5% alcohol), a 4 oz. glass of wine (15-20% alcohol), or a 1.5 oz. shot (30- 50% alcohol) each = .04%. Keep in mind that any illegal drugs take you straight to Tier 3 even if you are not under the active influence of the drug. In other words, if any illegal drug is still in your system, be it from 3 days ago, 2 weeks ago, even a month ago, even a trace amount, you are still DUI! Also, prescription drugs not prescribed to you likewise take you Fast Lane Biker
