DOTTIE New Jersey New York

www.fastlanebiker.com flb@fastlanebiker.com

LIST OF CULPRITS Mark and I decided to change the letter from the publisher this month. The second we saw Dottie we fell in love with her and made a donation. As many of you may know we are dog lovers and have three dogs of our own. As soon as I saw my friend was in need of help I got on the phone and started calling places to help sweet Dottie. Thankfully my friend Patti got in touch with O.S.C.A.R. and they were able to get Dottie the help she so desperately needs. Mark and I are asking you to please read the info below and do what you can to help. We are posting two photos of her just keep in mind the injuries go beyond what you see. Just imagine if all our readers donated a single dollar & remember all donations are tax deductible iPlease remember every dollar counts and if the donations exceed the amount needed for Dottie’s care the remaining donations will go to O.S.C.A.R. to help the other fur babies they save now and in the future. With this Fastlane Biker would like to thank Patti De Stefano for being that angel going above and beyond to help fur babies in need. We would also like to thank the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains for taking such good care of Dottie. Last but not least thank you O.S.C.A.R. for always caring and helping as many animals as you can. PLEASE DO NOT contact the vet as they are very busy and do not have the time to answer questions. Any info on Dottie you can check with O.S.C.A.R. as they will update her status as more progress is made. Dottie was found alone on the streets of Paterson, NJ. She is extremely thin, has multiple bite marks over her entire body, and her one ear is badly bitten and torn. Her injuries are so severe she had emergency surgery to try and repair all the damage that’s been done to her. We’re hoping they can save her ear. Our vet said Dottie is young, only 7-8 months old, and is very sweet and timid. Just the kind of qualities the loathsome, ungodly dog fighter looks for in a bait dog. But despite what they’ve done to her, we all know animals are resilient creatures. Dottie’s wounds will heal and she will go on to have the life she was always meant to have and the life she always deserved. Our vet expects Dottie to have one additional surgery to repair the areas of her body that the stitches couldn’t hold to because of dead tissue. We are praying that she will find someone who will adopt her and take her into their home where she can begin to receive the TLC she desperately needs. A loving home where she can be properly spoiled the rest of her life. If you, or anyone you know, is interested in adopting a true animal in need, please visit our website to fill out an application. Website link: www.oscaranimalrescue.org Donations to help with the costs of Dottie’s surgery can also be made on our website. If you choose to make a donation please mention Dottie. It’s amazing what we, as a group, can do to change the life of an animal. Dottie’s new life begins today. Thank you. O.S.C.A.R.

LUTZ PHOTOS BY LUTZ WORDS BY MARK & PAM

Almost fifteen years ago when Pam and I started FASTLANEBIKER magazine digital photography was just getting started. Between the two of us we knew just about nothing about digital photography and how it would develop over the years and completely change the way the magazine was put together. Through all the years we were in the magazine business, we’ve had a handful of graphics people a more then a few writers and countless photographers. Only one is still with us Lutz. Lutz came on staff at FASTLANEBIKER before our first issue. He was shooting with a top of the line 35 mm at the time. He considered himself a hobbyist more then a pro photographer. But he always was showing up with new equipment and I remember when he got his first digital camera. It had three times as many mega pixels than any digital I have ever heard of and a real steep price tag. But just like today, Lutz never cared what an item cost once he did his research, his mind was made up. With all his high tech stuff and Lutz had an eye for the lifestyle of the motorcycle culture like no one I’ve ever seen. We had a pretty good start for our new magazine and almost fifteen years later Lutz is still with us and as always pumping out top quality photos. Lutz asked me if he could build a Facebook site called FASTLANE LUTZ and post photos from years back to current. I thought it was a great idea. This issue is loaded with those photos of past year. I hope you enjoy them and will stop by his Facebook site for more pictures of years gone by . So here you go Lutz this ones all about you Thanks for everything!

You're free now baby.. Ride on.. ~~~ They wanted you to stand in line walk straight hold your head above your shoulders to speak only when spoken to and ... listen when they pressed their rules. ~~~ They wanted you to obey the signs to stay within ... their fences, fences pounded into an earth, that never wanted to be ... contained. ~~~ Now, they want us to form a line to say goodbye to a spirit ... a spirit that knew no lines no boundaries no fences, no rules only a code of respect, and camaraderie. ~~~ They want us to cry at the side of a lifeless mannequin laid to rest in a space marked to take your place ~~~ Instead -we look to the horizon waiting ... watching listening always listening for your wings to ride by ..

ASK THE ATTORNEY BY: LEE D. GABER, ESQUIRE 1-888-CYCLE-LAW • LeeGaber@cycleattorney.com • www.cycleattorney.com Over the many years that you have all been reading my columns you have no doubt heard me bitch and moan about not having enough liability coverage, and naturally enough uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage as you can only buy uninsured/underinsured coverage up to the amount of your limits of liability coverage (i.e. if you bought $15,000/$30,000.00 in liability coverage, that is all you can purchase in UM/UIM coverage). The only way you can have more UM/UIM coverage than liability is if you have more than one bike on the policy and purchase the stacking option, which is something I always recommend even if you only have one bike. I have also been complaining about how many of my clients do not have health insurance and unless you purchased some medical coverage on your motorcycle policy, have no way of paying your medical bills if you are injured in a motorcycle accident. Contrary to what many people believe, when you are involved in a motorcycle accident your automobile carrier will not pay for your medical bills and neither will the other insurance carrier. Even if they do assume responsibility, they will only pay when the case settles, but by then you will likely be in collections. Up until recently there was nothing for most people to do about this. However, now with the creation of “healthcare.gov”, virtually anyone who does not qualify for public assistance, can now get health insurance coverage for a very reasonable amount. It may not be “platinum” coverage, but with the papers reporting over 7-8 million new members, it will go far in making sure you get treated in the hospital, and more importantly, get the continued medical care you need once you are released from the Fast Lane Biker

hospital. This is not always easy to do. Most specialists and medical facilities want to know how they are getting paid before they will even schedule an appointment. Just so you understand, once you are released from the hospital, in most situations, medical providers do not have to treat you. Currently, as a result of “Obamacare”, the percentage of Americans without insurance has fallen to its lowest level in 6 years. “Obamacare” is especially helpful to bikers in PA and NJ as they often do not make enough money to buy insurance from the health insurance companies directly, and make too much to qualify for Medicare or Medicaid. The “Obamacare” plan comes with government subsidies that help keep the cost down for those who make roughly between $25,000.00 $70,000.00 a year. It also gives anyone injured in a Pennsylvania or New Jersey motorcycle accident peace of mind when they are wondering how they are going to pay for all of the medical bills. So please, if you do not have health insurance, get on a computer, type in “healthcare.gov” and get started! Best of all, you can not be turned down due to pre-existing conditions and it will also cover your children until they are 26 years old. It is a win-win situation – so do it now! As always, if upon reading this material you have any questions regarding this topic or any others, please feel free to contact me at HYPERLINK “mailto:LeeGaber@ cycleattorney.com” LeeGaber@cycleattorney.com or 1-888-CYCLE-LAW (1-888-292-5352). Sincerely,

LEE D. GABER, Esquire
