ovember is here and Christmas is around the corner. Perfect time to check out our advertisers for motorcycle gear, gifts, and work on your bike, etc… Time to start thinking about what you need painted or powder coated, improved or fixed, and our advertisers can take care of all your needs, so please support them as they support us, and we will continue to bring you this great magazine each month. We have a lot planned for winter and the New Year. Please call for info about the Atlantic City show in May of 2011. It looks to be one of the biggest shows of 2011 beside our Rally at the Rock 4, also in May 2011. We will also be at the Jacob Javits show again this year, with one heck of a display from all four of our state’s magazines, motorcycle builders, motorcycle art, and a few surprises. Be careful out there on your bikes, stay warm, and we will see you next month. Remember, even though it’s not riding season, now is the best time to extend your ad or get in on the action for the holidays! Reach out to the thousands of people who are grabbing our magazines off the shelves at hundreds of locations around the tri-state area and the ones who are reading it online as well! Corrections from Debbie Landers, The run Johnnie and JT covered was not The Chrome Cafe’s, it was Lloyd’s. I made that mistake and I am sorry. Also the horseshoe event was held at Mr. B’s but it was A.B.A.T.E.’S tournament not the bars event. Again I am sorry. Support our advertisers as they support us and bring you this great magazine.
New York’s Biggest, Best, Baddest Motorcycle Magazine!! Until next month... Keep your knees in the breeze!

A young boy comes down for breakfast. Since they live on a farm, his mother asks if he has done his chores. ‘Not yet,’ said the little boy. His mother tells him no breakfast until he does his chores. Well, he’s a little ticked off so when he feeds the chickens, he kicks a chicken. When he feeds the cows, he kicks a cow. When he feeds the pigs, he kicks a pig. He goes back in for breakfast and his mother gives him a bowl of dry cereal. ‘How come I don’t get any eggs and bacon, and why don’t I have any milk in my cereal??’ he asks. ‘Well,’ his mother says, ‘I saw you kick a chicken, so you don’t get any eggs for a week. I saw you kick the pig, so you don’t get any bacon for a week either. I saw you kick the cow, so for a week you aren’t getting any milk.’ Just then, his father comes down for breakfast and kicks the cat halfway across the kitchen. The little boy looks up at his mother with a smile, and says, ‘You gonna tell him or should I??’ ~~~~~~~~ A group of Alabama friends went deer hunting and paired off in twos for the day. That night, one of the hunters returned alone, staggering under the weight of an eight-point buck. ‘Where’s Henry?’ the others asked. ‘Henry had a stroke of some kind. He’s a couple of miles back up the trail,’ the successful hunter replied. ‘You left Henry laying out there and carried the deer back?’ they inquired. ‘A tough call,’ nodded the hunter. ‘But I figured no one is going to steal Henry!’ 4

O’TOOLES HARLEY-DAVIDSON OPEN HOUSE 4 Sullivan Street, Wurtsboro, NY . 845-888-2426 . September 18th-19th, 2010
The day was an unusually hot day for fall and perfect for an open house. With great sales, motorcycles, food, music, wood carvings and lots of riding, it couldn’t get much better than that! It was great seeing my friends from Wurtsboro H.O.G. and O’Tooles, and all the people who turned out to enjoy the fun with O’Tooles and their great offers for their valued regular customers and the new ones they were making in the process. Ski, Danny, Digs and Dan were all hard at work helping everyone with smiles and great attitudes. My kids enjoyed watching the chain saw carving artist Fred Avila. What a talented man. You should see some of the carvings of bears eagles, wolves, etc... up close as he takes it from log to piece of art work. WOW! Hot dogs and burgers were among some of the great food, and the band had everyone rocking to the beat as DJ Chris helped fill in the breaks between bands. There was also outstanding bike detailing offered outside for an excellent price. It was a great Open House Weekend and O’Tooles staff was right there as always, helping everyone and having a great time at what they do. BIKER ALLEY
October 3rd, 2010 Johnnie and I were invited to go to Biker Alley for a change of season party. During the season every Wednesday a group of riders would show up there and have a bite to eat and see some great friends. This event was the farewell to those nights and for all of us to talk meet and greet, knowing we all might be hibernating soon for the winter. Everyone brought something and the food and desserts were great. We had enough of everything, and even the sun made it out and warmed our bodies while we all caught up on things. I think this was the largest crowd and as Corney was cooking, for awhile we all wandered around saying hello to our friends and even meeting some new ones! Sharon and Dave are friendly, great people to know and we thank you for your Wednesday nights. Also to put in a good word‌ JT’s Paint was there and made a few great souvenirs. Like I mentioned before, they know their stuff!!! Debbie Landers

IRON BLOCK HARLEY-DAVIDSON 25TH ANNIVERSARY
October 10th, 2010 . 315-583-6177 . 17890 Goodnough Street . Adams Center, NY 13606 Johnnie and I attended Iron Block’s 25th Anniversary which was held on October 10th. The crowd turned out in droves and the music kept everyone in a great mood all day. The BBQ was fantastic, as always, and we had our share as we talked with our fiends who came out to celebrate this momentous occasion. They had a patches being sewn while you waited and great deals in the store all day long. If you have never seen Ed’s North of the Border Museum of the North Country’s upstairs, you have to make it a point on your visit to Iron Block Harley. Ed’s museum is not just about motorcycles, but there are many fine examples of vintage bikes that are still being ridden today. It is a great place to bring the entire family and a great destination for a group outing. Private tours are available. Ed’s hours are during regular store hours. There is a $5.00/person admission fee; with all proceeds benefiting Hospice of Jefferson County. Remember this holiday season to stop by for great gifts and when you need that winter work done on your motorcycle, call or visit Iron Block Harley Davidson. More Info go to www.ironblock.com, and check out some of the pictures from the day. Debbie Landers

LOCOMOTION POWERSPORTS 138 Orange Avenue (RT 202) . Suffern NY 10901 . 845-357-1190 www.locomotionpowersports.com It is the season for that new Victory, Triumph, or Polaris
Our good friends over at Locomotion Powersports have great deals on motorcycles, apparel, parts, off road vehicles and storage of your motorcycles. While on a local visit Anthony had a little time to show me the new Victory Cross Country with its power packing 106 CUB Inches, and he said it’s like driving on air. The ride and comfort you get, plus storage space and power makes this a great buy. He also showed me the Triumph Thunderbird which, instead of using a V-Twin, something Triumph describes as “hackneyed,” the T-Bird uses a 1597cc vertical-Twin power plant that is an exceptionally clean lump for a liquid-cooled engine. A 270degree firing interval essentially turns the motor into a 0-degree V-Twin, if you will. Double overhead cams and four valves per cylinder enhance breathing and combine with an over square 103.8 x 94.3mm bore and stroke to enable fairly high (for a Big Twin) 6500-rpm rev limit. He said this all-new “T-16” engine, at 98 cubic inches, is the world’s largest production parallel-Twin motor. All for around $12,499 right between the Vulcan 1700 and the H-D Dyna Super Glide. He also gave me a peek at the Polaris RZR 800, and I want one bad. This looks like a great multipurpose off-road vehicle and now the New Ranger 4 seater is perfect for the whole family or a hunting crew. These can be used on the farm, for fun, work, hunting and many more reasons. He even showed me the new Ranger Diesel engine version. Most come with the Optional Dump Box and a lock and ride system. They have independent rear suspen-

sion and high ground clearance. With many models of the Ranger and Ranger RZR to pick from, there’s going to be one for you and one for each member of the family. Prices range from $10,500 to $14,800 depending on make and model. Anthony reminded me of their 50% off leather jackets right now and a great selection of apparel and helmets and all accessories. See Adam at the parts center for all your parts needs or the great deal on winter storage for $399 for the season. Call today. They have a beautiful customer center waiting area with flat Screen T.V and couches and in wall fish tank. The sales rep and staff know their stuff inside and out. If you have a question it will be answered and then some. Stop down today and check out all they have to offer today, you won’t be sorry. Tell them Fast Lane Biker NY sent you. By Frank D.

VINTAGE BIKES... SCREW ALL THAT NEW CHOPPER CRAP!! YOU KNOW, the craze now is everybody has to have a chopper, or the next new thing, a bobber. I am sorry, and I hate to have to say this, but more than half of the guys that are buying this new old school stuff wouldn’t know a chopper or a bobber if it ran them over. What I really mean is, no sense of being polite, sorry….THEY DON’T KNOW SHIT. Half of these clowns weren’t around when that was happening, they don’t have a clue. The late 60`s and seventies, it was still going on, but it started before that, and became out of style when the full custom thing came around, and there is the TV thing also. Don’t get me started on that whole thing. Been doing this bike thing since the mid sixties, and have seen the whole bike world change, and all for the good I have to say. But give it a f##$%&’ rest already!!!!! Okay, okay, sorry about that, got a little ahead of myself. So, anywho, we have another cool project we are starting on. A 54 or so BSA a-10, in a hard tail frame, and a lot of cool ideas happening on this thing. The owner has thought it out. He has been trying to get this bike built for a year or two and basically got nowhere. Some work was started, never finished, not done well at all, and the usual. So the bike comes in and, as soon as I saw it, I knew it had tremendous potential. The ideas this guy has puts this bike right out of the sixties, if it all comes together properly. The basic idea is tru old school with old stuff. Foot clutch, jockey shift, short rear fender, and no fender up front.
FA S T L A N E B I K E R
34
No polished stuff, no chrome stuff where it is not needed or wanted. Bare bones as it gets. So you have to start this one the old way. For those of you who don’t know, it is called kick start. No magic button hear. If you look at the pictures, you can see it is nowhere near done, but it could be a gem in the ruff. It is all bare metal, some parts are welded on (even though they are crooked as hell) and some are tacked in place. The oil tank is made from an artillery shell and is really cool. The rest, well to put it mildly, needs some regrouping of sorts. So this is going to be a job that will take time and use all that stuff tucked away in the back of my noggin to put it all tighter and come out looking like it should. See, you can’t buy this kind of bike, unless someone builds it and sells it, you know what I mean. This guy put time and effort into this idea he had. He didn’t go to a dealer and plunk down a chunk of money and finance the rest, as is the popular thing to do anymore. So after talking to TANK for a while, got the drift as to what he wants, we went to work. Gotta make all the clutch and brake controls for this, and keep his floorboards. Gotta make the rear fender straight in the frame, battery box, and all the usual things that make it work. I am just getting started on this project, and the season is upon us, but it will get done this summer. I just thought this is cool and you guys would like to see something different in the making. AND I PROMISE, I will follow this build in the mag for ya. I am into this one, no problem. See ya when I see ya, j.p.fager

NEW ANALOG SPEEDO/TACH COMBINATION FOR SOFTAIL MODELS... Adds a Tachometer to the Console and Retains LCD Information Screen The new Combination Analog Speedometer / Tachometer (P/N 7477411 spun aluminum dial, 74776-11 black dial; $259.95) from HarleyDavidson Genuine Motor Accessories allows Softail® riders to monitor engine speed without adding a handlebar-mounted tachometer. The unit mounts in the stock dash opening and is a direct plug-in installation. These color back-lit gauges feature speedometer and tachometer pointers that sweep clockwise to provide a “gauge within a gauge” look. A large LCD information screen displays traditional odometer/tripmeter data, miles to empty, a segmented fuel display, and a gear-position indicator. Mileage reinstatement resides in the vehicle’s ECM so initial mileage will be uploaded at the time of gauge installation. HORSEPOWER RALLY AT THE SHOWBOAT RESORT & CASINO Photos By: Tom Briglia . PhotoGraphics Photography
Early last month the Show Boat Resort and Casino in Atlantic City hosted The First Annual Horsepower Rally. This event was held in the parking lot directly in front of the Showboat Casino and had something for everyone... Hot Rod cars to hot bikes, great bands and beautiful women. The weather was as close to perfect as it could have been that day and they had a great turnout for their first rally. Everyone strolled around checking out the custom cars and bikes, watching the bands up on the main stage and shopping the vendors. They also had a few companies like Jim Beam, Crystal Head Vodka, Sailor Jerry Rum, and Chronic Cellars Wine giving out samples to anyone who was interested in giving them try. When it was all said and done, the day seemed to go way too fast so we headed upstairs to the foundation room for dinner and drinks. We want to thank Show Boat for having us and showing us a great time. Hope to see you all next year when the Horsepower Rally returns to Atlantic City.

WHAT IT’S ABOUT by Sorez The Scribe
It’s about going down the road at 80 miles an hour The ol’ lady hanging on to ya for dear life And loving every minute of it It’s about reaching out to a Brother who is down Not only being there when times are good But when they are bad as well It’s about twisting the throttle into tomorrow Kicking the shifter up another gear In the moment out there in the wind It’s about the ride through life we take Upon two wheels and open roads Throttling down the highway of life It’s about surviving To be able to live To ride Another day
WISDOM
by Sorez The Scribe “Promises adrift in the wind Are forgotten quite easily” The old man said He told me, “Watch out for People who make empty promises And those who say things That make no sense.” The old man had alot of wisdom to share Too bad that cager downed him Before he got a chance to impart Some more of that wisdom to me
