Hello everybody and welcome to the October issue of Fast Lane Biker. There is still a lot of good riding weather in the Northeast. October’s calendar is packed with some really great events. It seems like October is for lack of a better term, the new September. It seems to be that every year more new events are in October. Well why not? It’s a good of a time as any... I guess.

While growing up, a young boy of ten Dreamed of riding a Harley-Davidson He watched his dad wrench on an old knucklehead I hope that will be mine one day he said His father told him he needed to learn The biker code and that respect is earned He taught his son about old school styles Of choppers and bobbers he had ridden for miles The young boy listened and took it all in His dad told road stories to him and his friends Dad’s road name was Double Jack, also his drink He had scars and tattoos with sun faded ink Dad just bought the young boy a Shovelhead roller The young boy said one day I’ll ride her like I stole her The next few years he learned to ride On old Jap bikes with his buddies by his side The biker code had been learned from lessons had Respect earned even if only from Dad Some happy tears were shed along the way Keep the rubber side down Dad would always say That young man turned sixteen the other day That Knucklehead and Shovelhead rode together away That Harley-Davidson he had dreamed of for years Was built with lessons learned, respect, and happy tears They now sit and talk of miles they share The garage now has an old 66 Harley Sprint in there Dad had another boy after a little while The young man and Dad just look at him and smile They can’t wait to teach him the biker code Help him wrench on that Sprint and share stories of the road Mom loves her little Harley-Davidson family Said, can you buy a brand new Sportster for me

KNOW THE LAW I

am going to break away from my usual fare and chart some new ground this month. Before doing so, let me be clear: The opinions you are about to read are mine only. They are not the opinions of this magazine, its owner/editor, its staff or its advertis-

ers. They are mine, and mine alone. This once Great Nation is at a crossroads. I see this year’s Presidential Election as crucial to the core concepts that made this Nation what it is today: Freedom, Liberty, Equal Justice Under the Law, and the Right to the Pursuit of Happiness. We live in an age where the most outrageous acts of treason and outright lies are reported in sound bites which are then drowned out in the rest of the usual news of the day, all to the point that we are numb to the fact that America is being, as President Obama pledged to do before he took office, “fundamentally transformed”. I will be voting for Donald Trump for President. A few of my reasons why follow. First, in discussing the Presidential Election with many friends on both sides of the political aisle, I have come to the realization that the main reason I will vote for Trump is because, to this day, I am not sure who hates the man more, the Democratic Party or the Republican Establishment. The Democrats hate him for being a conservative Republican, that I get. But the Republican Establishment continues to attack Trump at a level that is unprecedented. Jeb Bush, Lindsey Graham, John Kaisch and Ted Cruz have all, to a man, broken their pledge to support the Republican Nominee, whoever it was. The arrogance of their defalcation is an outrage. They each received the benefit of millions upon millions of dollars in information from the RNC, yet you hear nary a word about it from the mainstream media, including, sadly, Fox News. These men should be tarred and feathered on a daily basis for their fraud. So soon we forget how each of these men sought out and petitioned Trump for his endorsement. Remember Mitt Romney? He begged and begged Trump for his endorsement, and ultimately Trump endorsed Romney when he became the Republican Nominee. How does Romney explain his 180 degree about face? No one bothers to ask that hard question nor the myriad follow up questions. Why not? Second, the economy. It seems to me that, almost every time the parties come together, the middle class gets screwed, hard. Look around your town. York was a booming manufacturing center until the 90’s. With the exception of Harley Davidson, almost all of those job are gone, outsourced from the USA, which started with NAFTA. The few manufacturers that are left are emaciated, almost ghostly shadows of their former selves. The jobs gone our population nevertheless continues to grow, with fewer and fewer workers to pay the taxes that likewise continually increase. We need to recapture our manufacturing base. True, Trump proposes a 35% import tax. And, true, we have always been taught that trade wars ultimately end up hurting the nation that imposes the import tax. But here’s the rub, the statement about import taxes presumes an even playing field, which we have not had since the 90s. We have been at war, albeit an economic war, since the 90s, and we’re losing, badly. When I ride I always ride the back roads, which takes me through town after town like York, in state after state, and the empty storefronts, warehouses and business are ubiquitous. If Trump cuts corporate taxes the billions of dollars that companies have held offshore will come pouring back into this nation, which, coupled with an import tax, will effectively guarantee the overnight creation of jobs for the millions of people who have given up on working. With plenty of jobs, wages will inevitably increase as employers have to effectively bid for the best employees. Third, immigration and our borders. I have ridden the Texas / Mexico border for close to half of its length. Nice ride. Gorgeous country. The “fence” is a shit show. I have friends who fence their gardens better than we fence the border with Mexico. Seriously. I spoke with folks who live along that border. The crime is off the chart. Once again, nothing happens because the parties are in cahoots with one another. The Democrats get the votes (yes Virginia, illegals vote) and the Republican Establishment gets cheap labor for its corporate

Fast Lane Biker

BY ATTORNEY STEVE STAMBAUGH donors. True it’s illegal to hire illegals but when did you last hear about a single employer going to jail for hiring illegal aliens? Once again, the media, Fox included, is silent. Trump will clip a huge percentage of illegals by simply deporting the criminals we catch. I get crash case after crash case with illegals driving with no license and no insurance because they don’t care. They don’t care because nothing will happen to them when they get caught. Nothing. That has to change. We have immigration laws on the books which our own President has directed all federal agencies to ignore and not follow. Think about that. One man has eviscerated laws passed by Congress and signed by prior Presidents. Arizona, through former Governor Jan Brewer, responded by saying that the state would enforce federal immigration law if the Feds wouldn’t do it and then Obama’s Justice Department went into Court and stopped them. You can’t make this up. Fourth, terrorism / security. We have had attack after attack in the Homeland and yet we’re told that everything is ok. As I write this article we just saw 3 bombs in NY/NJ (2 went off and 1 failed to explode) coupled with a knife attack in a Minnesota shopping mall by a knife wielding Jihadist yelling “Allah Akbar” and questioning victims whether they were Muslims so he could determine who got the knife and yet we have to “question” his motive? Are you kidding me? Trump said that the explosions in NY/NJ were “bombs” (he was right as we later found out) and the news story is that he jumped the gun. I have a news flash for you, the Terrorists are here, and have blended into our society. We will be reaping the “rewards” of President Obama’s immigration and lack of a national defense for a decade or more to come, Trump is right about that. ISIS is not and never was a JV Team. Fifth, the Clinton lies. I could write a whole article just about this one topic. 33,000 emails gone, deleted and purged clean while under a Federal Subpoena? Everyone but Hillary goes to jail for that. Period. And for a long hitch. The Clinton Foundation? Hundreds of millions of dollars donated. For what? With some 10-20% being paid out to various charities? And it’s ok? And Chelsea, she gets just shy of a million dollar a year salary to “run” the charity? Last, the Second Amendment. The Founding Fathers saw the Second Amendment as the most important of all the Amendments. It exists to preserve our ability to protect ourselves against our own government, exactly like what our Founders had just done in freeing the Colonies from British Rule. If we lose the right to keep and bear arms, we are slaves. The Supreme Court’s Heller decision, and the decisions that followed, were 5 to 4 decisions. Justice Scalia is dead. His replacement will either vote for, or against, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. The same is true of all decisions challenging Presidential actions. President Obama was overruled and shot down by the Supreme Court more than any other President in our Nation’s history, because he repeatedly exceeded his constitutional powers. Imagine a Supreme Court that simply rubber-stamps Presidential excesses. We will have a King, or in Hillary’s case a Queen, but regardless of the gender, we will be ruled by one. This one issue, who will select Justice Scalia’s replacement, is reason enough in my mind to vote Trump. Vote how you will but I am voting Trump. If you’re still undecided, join me at YCHDOA’s 20th Annual Toy Run to the Penn State at Hershey Children’s Hospital. Check out the full page ad in this issue for details or the website (www.ychdoa.com) and look me up at the Event. I can talk for hours on this topic. And again, as always, if you haven’t joined ABATE, do so. They are the Biker’s Voice in Harrisburg.
