Hello everyone, and welcome to the March issue of FAST LANE BIKER. Winter has come and gone in the Northeast and it’s time again to get ready for Daytona Beach Bike Week. I was out and about the past few weeks and saw signs of life in a lot of shops and dealerships . It’s a shame people put off the needed repairs to their motorcycles until bike week. No matter how may times we tell readers that many shops and dealers offer you free pick up and delivery during the winter months, they still wait. But I guess that’s never going to change. The next time I type the “Letter from the Editor”, Spring will be in the air once again. We’re looking forward to another great year in the motorcycle industry.

AMC Neshaminy Valley Chapter
Antique Motorcycle Show
story ridin’ & pics by Lutz
june 6 2015 • langhorne, Pennsylvania
What a great journey I took over to Pennsylvania, to go check out what has to be one of the few real genuine ride in antique bike show hosted by the Neshaminy Valley Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America which is held in the parking lot of Brian’s Harley Davidson. I’ve heard good things about this one for a while and definitely was not disappointed. These are not trailer queens your gonna find over here, I would have to say they all look like what was on display get rode quite often and why shouldn’t they? It’s a motorcycle! American to metric, mostly stock with some custom mixed in… there was some way cool iron to checkout! Chrome to “well lubricated” motorcycles mixed the parking lot with plenty of eye-candy for the camera..i love this old stuff, especially when the owners have so much pride in restoring and maintaining the rides many back to the way they came off the dealership floor. Don’t forget the show was held at Brians Harley Davidson dealership and you could go inside and maybe checkout all the new stuff Harley has to offer and with a great staff more than willing to show you around! ...a little new with the old! Going back outside again, there was many a trophy to be hand out and many a smiling face as their bike was picked as the winner in their class! A special note going out to a special trophy handed out this year in honor of Joe “mouse” Rakowski a member of the club and personal friend of mine for years who recently passed on, that was truly a special moment when that was awarded, RIP my brother. With that being said the show looked to be very successful and well see what comes out next year! Fast Lane Biker

Every muscle in her belly strained to hold her steady, while the energy of his body leaned into the wind and drew her into his flame– the thickness of his fingers slid her legs nearer to his hips. the chill of autumn’s air stole her breath as the steady vibration of the engine stirred her blood – intoxicated her soul. At one with their Harley stallion they glided through Essex, farmlands on either side ... drifting around curves on Old-New-England country back roads nature’s foreplay teased their senses their metal-steed’s tires kissing each narrow twist and turn -“Hang on, darlin..” he warned, cutting the wheel off-road … Their bodies banged bounced straight up smashed back down their boots pushing the foot-pegs hard Her arms locked around his waist, heart pounding against her chest time frozen in mid-air, from deep inside her gut she yelled out -“Don’t stop … Not now ... Not ever!” ©1988 (rev 2008) / mswm Revised 2016 RSOA ™ MARCH, 2016
The One In a Mom and Pop greasy spoon outside of nowhere town Covered in road dust from the many miles I’d just put down Looking for a hot cup of coffee and a friendly smile To forget what I’d left behind for awhile * She was tired of the club life and her old man’s ways Her beauty from back in the day gave way to old, tired and worn today Tired of paying the dues of being a patch holders wife She wants to leave behind her life behind bars and me and start a new life * No longer live in the shadow of the patch She watched me ride away and not look back The waitress smiled and said with a wink in her eye If you ride a Harley, I want a ride * I said I do, and I’ll take you when you get off tonight She said I’m off at 10:00 if that’s alright When I returned to pick her up that night A large patch on her vest said ride or die * I ask her where she wanted to go She said anywhere with you baby, and we hit the road She told me that this was the life she loved And that she lost her patch holding old man to an overdose of drugs * It had been a year that she’s scratched and kicked to get by Said she had kicked her habit since her old man had died Told me she missed the life that my old lady wanted to leave behind And asked me back to her place to spend the night * Said she wanted a man she could take care of Said a patch holder understands that kind of love Said she understands what the patch means to me Said she’s not property but wants to be a patch holder’s old lady * When we woke-up we rode away together She’s now this patch holder’s old lady forever What we both left behind in the rearview mirrors Were situations that had brought on many tears * We just got some cool news the other day We have a future patch holder, a baby boy on the way So is the life I choose to share You can meet “The One” anywhere * Just ride away and leave your past behind Share together forever and find peace of mind © Lee Buddah Haverstick, Black Rose Poetry™ RSOA ™ 21

Thunder m/c Thunderstruck run marlboro new jersey • May 2 2015
story ridin’ and pics by Lutz
Thunder m/c are a great bunch of guys that like to ride and have a great time. Knowing this and with that kinda fun attitude how can you go wrong with a party they call “Thunderstruck”! The crew opens up its doors at there clubhouse to all there fellow clubs and friends and throw a great gig that goes easily into the night. With many vendors in attendance to offer some shopping you never know what kinda goodies you’ll find for sale. Grab liquid libation and a little grub cause the spread of food is very tasty and plentiful without a doubt! maybe catch up with some of the local chat with many in attendance! plenty of bikes to check out in the bike show ,maybe even win a trophy if you got your bike in it... the live music from local fav band “Powderkeg” kept it rocking’ all day. If you didn’t wanna put your ride in the bike show maybe show your ink off to the crowd in the tattoo contest. Local celeb tattoo artist “Tattoo Tony” and crew from Under My Skin tattoos even slinging’ up some fresh ink if you where looking’ to start something new or finish up an old piece. With all this going on at a party, who could want more?!

KNOW THE LAW I
can feel the weather starting to break as I write this article, which means that, for those of us who don’t ride year round, we’ll be back on our bikes and not soon enough. We also know that, once the riding season starts, our calendars will be bursting at the seams with Events and Rides. So, while you should be thinking about what you need to get your bike ready to start riding again, you also need to think about protecting yourself, which means that you need to pull your motorcycle policy out and compare it to what I am about to tell you about uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. The economic malaise / recession continues to plague the economy despite what the liberal media says and one of the first things to get cut from the family budget, and/or reduced, is insurance. According to the Insurance Institute of America, 12.6% of the drivers on the road have no auto insurance at all despite that the law requires drivers to maintain minimum amounts of liability insurance. Translated to the real world, 12.6% works out to one in every eight drivers you pass having no insurance! What this means to you and me is that un-insured and underinsured motorist coverage are essential for Riders as these coverages are the ONLY way we can protect ourselves from the financial devastation that motorists cause when we eat the asphalt because they “didn’t see us”. UN-insured motorist coverage is coverage you pay for in the event that a driver who has no insurance whatsoever (i.e., is UNinsured), causes you an injury. If that happens, the un-insured motorist coverage is ALL the money you will have available to you for compensation for your injuries, for your medical bills, for your list wages, etc. UNDER-insured motorist coverage is coverage you pay for in the event that a driver who has some insurance but not enough to FULLY compensate you for your insures (i.e., is UNDERinsured), Fast Lane Biker
BY ATTORNEY STEVE STAMBAUGH causes you an injury. If that happens, the universe of monies available to you for compensation for your injuries are the combined amounts of the adverse driver’s liability policy limits plus your under-insured motorist coverage. Current Pennsylvania law requires that vehicle owners have a minimum of $15,000.00 per person in liability coverage to pay to you if they injure you. They do not have to have one penny more to be legal. So, if your case is worth more than $15,000.00 (or whatever the tortfeasor’s coverages happen to be) then the driver is under-insured. So: - you must have uninsured (UM) and underinsured (UIM) motorist coverage; - make sure that your UM / UIM coverage is equal to your liability coverage and then get those limits as high as you can afford to take them - you get what you pay for; and - if you have more than one bike, make sure your policy has “stacked” UM / UIM coverage, which is also referred to as “stacking”. Proper UM/UIM coverage is expensive but you are worth it. If you have any doubt, imagine tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills coupled with an inability to return to work for months, if ever, or, worse, you go down and your loved ones are left to face life without you. If you have questions about your policy, call my office and either I or a member of my staff will walk you through your questions - no charge. Last, remember that this is the time of year to get your bike worked on. Helps the Dealers and wrench turners and you don’t lose any saddle time. See you on the road,
Steve 30
