ally at the Rock 3 was HUGE hit and bigger and better than last year. The Street Smart Cycles motorcycle ”Fugetaboutit” was a real piece of art. A ground up build that won over a ton of people and had great powder coat work done by ReNu Powder Coating. We want to thank Joe Cotton, Charlie and the rest of their staff for all their hard work! You guys are the best building some of the best Motorcycles I have ever seen. We fell a little short, PA took the BuildOff title, all 4 builders walk away winners!! Congrats again to Penn Jersey on their win!!! We have selected Merlon Rogers from B&M Performance Cycles from Messena, NY, to represent NY at Rally at the Rock 4's Biker Build-Off. The rest of the line-up for Rock4 looks like this... CTM from MD, KeyStone Choppers from PA and from NJ, well, they're still making their pick. By the time you read this we will have been in Alexandria Bay, NY for the Thousand Islands River Run on June 25th-27th. On Saturday, we're doing a photo shoot at the Downtown Bar from 10am-4pm and also the Miss Fast Lane Biker - A Bay Contest at Skiffs Bar. We will be bringing you all the coverage in the August issue of Fast Lane Biker NY. We were sad to learn of an American icon’s death... The great actor Dennis Hopper from Easy Rider as well as hundreds of other movies, shows and other projects. He was a true icon and lived life on his terms. We had a chance to hear some stories from Dawg, Fast Lane Biker PA’s publisher, as he worked with Hopper on the movie Hellride and spoke very highly of him. I have been a fan of his since I first saw him on the chopper in Easy Rider. RIP. Fast Lane Biker will be holding Seaside Heights Bike Week in September from the 23rd to the 26th, 2010. We look forward to building this event into a powerhouse. Please email me or call me for more information, if you would like to be a vendor or participate in this event. We would like to welcome Rob Campbell to Fast Lane Biker NY Magazine as our new cartoonist. Rob does a carton strip that we will feature called ”Keeping up with Jones.” He hails from California and some of his work appears throughout biker publications in the United States. He is not only a good man, but a talented artist. We would like to say welcome aboard so, make sure you check out his web site located at www. cartoonthunder.com and give Rob your support (as he does for Fast Lane Biker). We would like warn the businesses out there to be careful! Publications that have motorcycle clubs stop in to try and scare you into advertising are not very professional and only speaks volumes about the type of publication it is they're pushing on you. New York’s Biggest, Best, Baddest Motorcycle Magazine!! Until next month... Keep your knees in the breeze!

A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, ‘Relatives of yours?’ ‘Yep,’ the wife replied, ‘in-laws.’ ~~~~~~~~ Don’t eat chicken sandwiches, no matter what... A little boy and a little girl attended the same school and became friends. Everyday they would sit together to eat their lunch... They discovered that they both brought chicken sandwiches every day! This went on all through the fourth and fifth grades, until one day he noticed that her sandwich wasn’t a chicken sandwich. He said, ‘Hey, how come you’re not eating chicken, don’t you like it anymore?’ She said ‘I love it but I have to stop eating it.’ ‘Why?’ he asked. She pointed to her lap and said ‘Cause I’m starting to grow little feathers down there!’ ‘Let me see’ he said. ‘Okay’ and she showed him. He looked and said, ‘That’s right. You are! Better not eat any more chicken.’ He kept eating his chicken sandwiches until one day he brought peanut butter. He said to the little girl, ‘I have to stop eating chicken sandwiches, I’m starting to get feathers down there too!’ She asked if she could look, so he showed her! She said, ‘Oh, my God, it’s too late for you! You’ve already got the NECK and GIZZARDS!!! ~~~~~~~~ My neighbor found out that her dog (a Schnauzer) could hardly hear, so she took it to the veterinarian. The vet found that the problem was hair in the dog’s ears. He cleaned both ears, and the dog could then hear fine. The vet then proceeded to tell the lady that, if she wanted to keep this from recurring, she should go to the pharmacy and get some “Nair” hair remover and rub it in the dog’s ears once a month. The lady went to the pharmacist and bought some “Nair” hair remover. At the register, the pharmacist told her, “If you’re going to use this under your arms, don’t use deodorant for a few days.” The lady said, “I’m not using it under my arms.” The pharmacist said, “If you’re using it on your legs, don’t shave for a couple of days.” The lady replied, “I’m not using it on my legs either. If you must know, I’m using it on my Schnauzer.” The pharmacist says, “Well stay off your bicycle for at least a week.” 4

May 21st, 22nd & 23rd, 2010 . Split Rock Resort . Lake Harmony . PA Fast Lane Biker New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delmarva held it’s annual Rally at the Rock event at Split Rock Resort in the Poconos. This indoor - outdoor event featured a Four State Biker Build-Off wherein each magazine chose their own builder from their state to compete, a motorcycle stunt show by the Krazy White Boys and also Cody Warner, and the Hard Core Motorcross Jump Team. Plenty of nationally known builders like Vince Doll of Redneck Engineering, Matt Elzey of CTM Customs, Merlon Rodgers of B&M Performance, and some local favorites like returning build-off champion from last year Scott Avery of North Jersey Customs and Jerry Tully of Jerrys Custom Auto & Cycle. There were plenty of vendors, good food and drinks available. The Build-Off competition this year was a tough one to call. Black Label Choppers representing Fast Lane Biker New Jersey built a Black Label Scotch themed Bobber with really cool engraved tanks and fenders which won the popular vote. Savage Cycles from Maryland representing Fast Lane Biker Delmarva built a really cool dual Weber pro street with an awesome job done on body and frame molding. Street Smart Cycles out of Long Island representing Fast Lane Biker New York built a true, one-off Bobber with a vintage fuel injection system and as many hand made one-off parts as you have ever seen on a bike. Of course, when the judges votes were counted, the Penn Jersey Bobber edged out the win. Their entry was a neatly done Pan Bobber with all internal controls, nothing too flashy. just a good clean bike. Congratulations to all the builders involved!! Everybody put their all into this competition and it showed. The end result was that we had four unbelievable bikes to choose from and that any one of the four would have taken best of show at any other event on the east coast. The weather this year left us a little disappointed as far as attendance goes. It rained from noon on Saturday through Saturday night all over the tri-state area and then Sunday it was light rain from early morning till late afternoon. It rained just hard enough to agravate you. But that’s the breaks, nobody can predict the weather not even the weatherman who said it was gonna be sunny and dry all weekend. I guess it really didn’t matter as everybody who was there seemed to be making the best of it either way and, all in all, it was still a seriously cool event. So, on to 2011. Only two Fast Lane Biker franchises have announced their builders for next year’s Showdown at the Rock. New York has chosen Merlon Rodgers, B&M Performance, and Delmarva has chosen Matt Elzey, CTM Customs. New Jersey and Pennsylvania are working out details and will be making their picks within the next few weeks. No dates have been chosen for next year’s Rally at the Rock 4 but, as soon as we pick them, we will be sure to let you know. Thanks and hope to see you all next year!

O’TOOLES HARLEY-DAVIDSON®

OPEN HOUSE 4 Sullivan Street, Wurtsboro, NY . May 22nd-23rd, 2010 . Pictures by: Trainwreck

O’Toole’s Harley-Davidson kicked off the summer riding season with their weekend long Open House on May 22nd and 23rd. Dan, Digs and the rest of the O’Toole’s staff played host to hundreds of Harley enthusiasts looking for great deals and good food. The music was provided by the Scott Weis Band as well as DJ Chris and they could not have been better! Warm weather, shiny chrome, music playing and the grill going was just what the doctor ordered to get the season going. What sounds better than great music? LOUD FAST HARLEYS! O’Toole’s H-D had both and had a great time introducing everyone to their new DYNO machine! The items were priced to move and the deals were everywhere. The motor clothes prices could not be beat and the parts and accessories tent had some of the most unbelievable discounts around. Raffles, trivia games and give a ways were going on all weekend. The Wurtsboro H.O.G chapter was selling tickets for its St Jude’s event this July. Wood carvers were on hand turning tree trunks into works of art. Pin up girl Miss Bea Rock was there signing autographs and calendars. Tattoo artists from Kings County Tattoo of Brooklyn, NY even set up shop for those who wanted to take

home something truly one of a kind. With Memorial Day the following weekend and Independence Day just around the corner patriotism was in the air!. Harley salutes those who defend our freedom and so does everyone at O’Toole’s Harley-Davidson. The DAV and Harley-Davidson have partnered up to create Harley’s heroes and they were at the dealership both days answering questions, providing assistance and generating support for our disabled American veterans. There were even contests for the best Uncle Sam costume and another for best stars and stripes paint job. For those early birds who wanted to get there before the good stuff was gone the dealership also held a morning bike blessing. The staff was helpful, the customers were happy, the food was great, the bikes were... well... awesome! The music rocked. What else is there to say? O’Toole’s next open house event is definitely something you do not want to miss. Mark your calendars and visit their web site www.otooleshd.com to get on the mailing list for all of their events.

I lived my life, now my death lives me.

May 29, 2010 : Today, I Follow The Sun Weep not for me, for I don’t want you there You never Understood , You Never Cared Drugs, You knew I would work Best Induced Now I’m Not , So Stay The “F...k Away”

Let it rest, NEVER, I will be with you and yours till there are no more. Ahhhh, just the way I like it.... You Got It, I’m Pissed; You tell me, what the heck were they thinking. Putting two lone riders out in the world of fascists. Are we now as bikers stepping backwards. Let me ask you this, Do you stand beside, will you stand in front ? Will You fall behind. What are bikers today in this world... This writer says, you are no longer structured the way bikers were. You are truly a person whom rides a bike. the “new democratic man.” There is only what is; and there are solutions. Fonda’s portrayal of America’s face may be accurate, but it is misleading, being only a manifestation of the real problems. It takes no great genius to know what he showed us. It’s been here for quite some time and requires a deeper look than he gave us. To have the bikers in the film seem “right,” and have them destroyed by a couple of fascists, is to point down. Up is the way, through organized resistance, by involvement in the movement, and not as loners, on their super SS choppers trying to escape. There is no place for loners today. The opposition is so well organized it is ridiculous even to comment on it. In this light perhaps Fonda’s fate in the film had happened-standing alone Stand alone, and you will be crushed. That is proven every day of our lives. That is why we have so many clubs formed. all Kinds. Heck even against child abuse. We need one another to make our points heard. Dennis Hopper, we salute you, in your life and now in your death. This writer rides to many events through many states. I have sat amongst the meek and of the strong.

I was born of this Earth and will die of this Earth Who the***** do you think you are weeping over me? I lived my life the way I sought yours, Free... Say what I want when I want and you sit back and take it. I was married 5 times and I don’t give a rats ass what you think of what I done. I don’t care if you approve or don’t Stay the **** away then. Who needs you. You need me to wipe that grin off your face, you need me to please that women you can’t get a grip on.. Who the **** do you think you are, praising me now? I passed this earth a long time ago, you never even noticed... Now I’m back in the Media and you pretend to care... What are you doing, pulling out all those old stinking movies.. What nothing new for you? Go make your Millions off my soul. I got nothing to do with you any more. An Internal Badass ? Who Me.. What The **** does that mean ? Drugs man, I did what you had no courage to do. I lived it. What the heck is all this hub bubb about? I lived my life the way you wanted, Making films would not have been as good. You Know , With Out the drug educed environment I lived in.

Do you remember your parents telling you when you went out at Night, Safety In Numbers. We are only strong as our weakest link. I look to you to support me, You look to Me To be your way out. Dennis Hopper , You won’t Rest In Peace, I know you now, you are gritting those teeth... Saying “Will You Ever Learn?” “NAH!” He Now Has The Last Laugh.

You loved to hate , You hate to love. Were you as free as you knew I was? Hated the hippie, Hate The Pigs, Where did you stand when stand you did not. Easy Rider, living off a women. What does that make you , A Pimp. No money ever exchanged hands, they gave it up freely.

R.I.P Dennis Lee Hopper (May 17, 1936 – May 29, 2010

I controlled every second of My Life, Through my death bed I called the shots. That B~utch , I wanted nothing to do with her. Can You say that Much.

FAST LANE BIKER & LAMINATION PRESERVATION ‘FAMILY BIKE NIGHT’ AT CHICO’S BBQ 2490 Western Avenue . Guilderland . NY . May 26th, 2010 Sponsored By: Modern Welding School, JJ’s Cycle Featured Motorcycle Builder: Buzzy Teson from JJ’s Cycle The very first Fast Lane Biker Magazine of New York Bike Show for May at Chico’s was a huge success! Frank arrived with Nancy and sweet Angelina, while Scott and Michelle came out to help make this a fun and friendly evening. The two of them are a party themselves! Johnnie and I drove down from Syracuse and the support was huge raffle donations for the food pantry. We also got to meet our new Albany sales rep, Toni, (which was great to finally put a face with the name) and she is taking off like gangbusters! The parking lot was full while DJ Scott kept the music playing, the restaurant was packed, and there were many great rides and trophies for the winners. Don’t miss the next one, always the 4th Wednesday of every month. The winner of the 50/50 donated all proceeds to the food pantry. By: Debbie Landers

FAST LANE BIKER RALLY AT THE ROCK 3 Split Rock Resort . Lake Harmony . PA May 21st-23rd, 2010

Millions of people turn to their local paper to find out what is happening in the world around them. From accidents and robberies to stock plunges and hurricanes, information is gleaned in moments from the black and white print that graces the daily newspaper. Nearly every newspaper article follows a specific format that allows readers to gather important information quickly and efficiently. You, my friends, turn to our free standing magazine. Why do so many of you do so? Content my friends, simply put, content. Rally at the Rock 3 is held to celebrate you, our readers, and to bring to you live coverage of our magazine’s content. You got to walk amongst the many stories you read through out the year. As a first time participant or as a long time visitor your eyes, ears, as well as your mouth were treated to the taste of things of the past as well as things yet to come. What many of you know already by things you read, Fast Lane Biker Magazines cover stories of the biker. Content; your events, well advertised so that you are informed of all things. So that you can make wise choices as to where you will be, as to what is out there, as to who you would like to spend your hard working dollars for. Fast Lane Biker Magazines came together from the tri state area which now includes Delmarva, to bring you the best motorcycles on display. We brought you live models, doing what they do best, turn your hearts a pattering. You got to peek behind the curtains as our models sat on Street Smart Cycles, Black Label Choppers, Penn Jersey Cycles and now Savage Cycles. In doing so you got the feel of how this magazine is built as well. . There were favorites in attendance; we can’t help to have our own. For me it was and is Street Smart Cycles. While many of you picked your bikes as yours, I picked the bike that I knew most about. How did you pick your favorite, write that to me please, inquiring minds get wiser. While we walked through the stages that were set up, we saw many vendors, I got to stop and talk with them. I had a booth set up with the rides I had gone on throughout the year, coverage of things that I had done with Fast Lane Biker Magazines. It was an honor to share with all of you what I have seen. Next time we meet I will be happy to have a disc for you. Thank you for all your kind words. Frank from Fast Lane Biker NY was available for you throughout the show. Watching the reactions you had as he walked amongst you, PRICELESS. Doing shows like this is what brings Fast Lane Biker Magazines closer to the viewing public. Listening to you tell us we are doing it right. We got to demonstrate to you all our travels under one roof. Putting the magazine together depends on you, your input. Input you sure shared, many ideas we get though out the year. . Tattoo artistry is the art that tells and shares who you are. We are The Tattooist, the artistry that you see and read. We leave nothing unturned in our magazines. While you will find each state puts on their own act, New York says it best, for you my friends are the best. What’s next? The best is always expanded on, stay tuned... Photos by Lizz

Questions and Answers with Frank from Fast Lane Biker NY Q: What is it that brings you to Split Rock Every Year? A: We wanted to have a show where people could come, stay and have fun. A place were we could incorporate all the great things that the resort has to offer into all that the Fast lane Biker show offers. The people loved it, it has become one of the biggest shows on the east coast and the only east coast biker build off. The people and vendors leave every year and tell more and more people how much fun they had and what a great show it was. It grows by leaps and bounds every year. For Rally at the Rock 4, we expect to double our numbers once again! Q: Why do you put on a show of this magnitude? A: To give people something different than the average convention hall show where they walk around for a few hours and leave. People come to our show and they stay the 3 or 4 days and ride through the Poconos, see all the great builds and motorcycles, watch our hourly events, talk to the builders, enjoy the resort itself. There’s so much to do at Split Rock Resort between what we have going on and what the resort offers as well. Q: When we walked around we saw many builders, in the biker build off contest, what is it that you look for to be the most important in determining your choice? A: Originality, hard work, functionality, paint, chrome, something different. Q: If you had to choose one motorcycle which one would you want in your garage. A: Ridablity Q: As a writer and a freelance photographer, I get to be wherever you need me. May I ask you, what is it that you see as the future for your magazine ? A: Fast Lane Biker Magazine NY is the only state-wide Free motorcycle magazine. We can be found from Buffalo to the Hamptons, in Long Island and everywhere in between, even parts off Western Connecticut and North NJ. We are NY’s all in one guide to everything in the motorcycle community. We are all about the people, we bring the people what they want. We plan on continuing to grow from our magazine size and content to bringing in more advertisers. We will continue to grow as the all in one guide for the state of NY for the motorcycle enthusiasts. Q: Will you hold a 4 State Fast Lane Biker event in the state of New York? A: We are looking into a few possibilities to bring a great motorcycle show to upstate NY, that’s all I can tell you for now. Stay tuned for more info to come. www.fastlanebikerny.com

ABATE 26th ANNUAL BIKE BLESSING April 25th, 2010 . By: Debbie Landers

This year it was Onondaga Chapter of ABATE’s 26th consecutive year in having their bikes blessed. They all gathered at the chapter hall and headed out to St Daniel’s Church in Lyncourt. The large group had to withstand a few sprinkles but overall it was a great day. The president of this chapter said a few words while heads were bowed for blessing after blessing before returning to the chapter hall for a BBQ. Skinny took the pictures for this event.

CHROME CAFE... A Cute Little Story May 16th was the Chrome Cafe’s rodeo with an unexpected beautiful surprise. Jean and John own and run the shop. Jean is from a family of 5 children, 3 boys and one sister Joanne who is a bit older. Jean is very protective of her. Joanne has thought and talked about wanting to ride a motorcycle for some time. Once while riding on the back of a dirt bike with no helmet she fell off and sustained a head injury. After a 3 day stay in the hospital with a concussion, Jean nicknamed her CooCoo, and advised her big sister to wait a few more years until she was ready to ride. When Joanne’s 50th birthday was approaching, deep down she hoped someone would give her a motorcycle. What she got was not exactly what she wanted. John and Jean gave her elbow pads, knee pads, a helmet and a razor type scooter!!! It was not what she expected at all and quietly stewed about it. Then, on this beautiful May afternoon, John and Jean presented Joanne with her very own, brand new motorcycle! The idea was that if she had something to focus on and get her motivated, the shock and loneliness she had to endure might be a bit easier to bear. You see, Joanne’s husband recently and unexpectedly passed away, and to say it’s been a very rough time would be an understatement. Joanne now has her permit and every chance she gets she goes to visit her little sister. She rides through the lawn out back fitted with boots, helmet, long pants and shirt to keep her safe and believe me, Jean checks her out before letting her ride! Joanne is now 52 and has signed up for classes in July and has ventured on the driveway area (with John’s permission, not Jean’s) I am sure she will be a regular there so if you see a lone rider on the lawn tell her to keep up the good work and perhaps even offer to keep an eye on her while she is riding so Jean can get some work done. Also make time to let Chrome Cafe know they did a wonderful thing! May everyone feel the love!! By Debbie Landers
