Learning without Limits Venture Schools are characterised by their high standards across the full curriculum at all ages. Our children thrive on their success; academically, in sporting competition and by achieving personal goals that they set for themselves in the outdoors.

You know when you’re in a Venture School because there’s a buzz and excitement about the place. Dynamic approaches to learning ensure children are engaged in and excited by their work. The success that follows is endemic and spreads across all areas of school life. The standards achieved by Venture school pupils are among the highest in the country. Individual schools are free to create a curriculum of their own. Support and guidance is offered in the development and monitoring of teaching.

Dare to be Different Venture Schools are creative and imaginative organisations. They push boundaries, think outside the box and tell their own story. Venture schools are uniquely different from one another. They support differing communities and develop their own curriculum, characteristics and expertise. We encourage and celebrate difference.

Five Members have ultimate responsibility for the governance of the multi academy trust. They appoint and monitor the work of the board of directors. The board of directors have a range of professional skills including: financial, legal, educational, human resources and construction. Their role is to create policy, hold the CEO to account, review the work of the LGB’s, monitor the standards in each school and agree and monitor the budget. Venture schools are governed by individual local governing bodies (LGB’s). This is to ensure each school’s unique character and link with the local community is maintained. Local governing bodies have a varying amount of responsibility. This is devolved by the board of directors and is dependant upon the capacity, skills and experience of the individual governors to undertake various roles. A representative from the board attends each LGB meeting to offer support and guidance. Broadly the governor’s role is to monitor the school’s approach to learning holding key post holders to account and to ensure that priorities and policies are implemented and maintained effectively. Each school has its own School Improvement Plan. This plan defines the schools priorities and the actions that are going to be taken to address them. The financial requirements of the plan are met in each individual schools budget.
