or Carlos Palomino, the pandemic shutdown affected him and his loved ones exactly the way everyone else was affected: Loss of work and wages, loss of family and friends, and everything in his life coming to a standstill, waiting for whatever was to come “next”. At this moment, it looks like “next” is ready to happen, so Carlos is ready to have it happen. He wants his kids back. And no, he’s not in the middle of a traumatic custody battle; he’s in the middle of going back to saving lives one kid at a time, by opening the doors to his Cops4Kids boxing gym after a year and half of the forced hiatus. New Loma Linda adult, Children’s Hospital tower now open for advanced patient care
L
oma Linda University Health officially opened the Dennis and Carol Troesh Medical Campus, home to a state-of-the-art adult hospital and Children’s Hospital tower expansion — a momentous occasion years in the making. Leaders celebrated with a jubilant ribboncutting ceremony on Friday, and patients officially moved in on Sunday.

Built to meet updated state seismic codes for acute care facilities, the campus is home to LLUH’s new 16-story Medical Center and 9-story Children’s Hospital tower. The campus incorporates leading advances in patient safety and comfort and was designed to continue the organization’s 115-year legacy of care and healthcare education in what has become one of the most medically complex regions in the nation.
