Rialto City Council approves development process of new police depar tment

ialto Police Department was built in 1973 and employed 39 sworn officers, fast forward to 2022 there are 126 sworn officers, and that’s not including its part-time and civilian personnel.

The current building located at 128 N Willow Ave., stands at around 18,000 square feet, but on April 26th the council approved a design-build-finance-operatemaintain process for a 100,000 square foot building on the same lot as the existing station.

he Rialto Unified School District’s Board of Education recently awarded the prestigious “Key to the District’ award to two outstanding individuals with a history of making a difference in students’ lives — Celia Saravia and Joseph Williams.

The Board of Education enthusiastically celebrated Saravia and Williams during two recent Board of Education meetings.

According to the District, the Key to the District award is “the highest annual recognition by the Board of Education.” The Key to the District was first introduced in 2009 and is presented to an individual (staff member, community member, parent advocate) RUSD, cont. next pg.
