an Manuel Band of Mission Indians is continuing its hiring push as it prepares to open phase one of its casino expansion project on July 24th. This date is significant as it is also the 35th anniversary of San Manuel Casino. The opening of phase one includes a larger gaming space, a 24-hour restaurant, a high-end dining venue, and new retail shops. The casino expansion includes an additional 1300 slots making it the most slot machines under one roof on the west coast. Later this year, San Manuel will open its first on-site hotel, featuring 432 luxury rooms and suites, premium dining venues, and a best-in-class event venue.
As San Manuel Casino celebrates its 35th anniversary, it has a fascinating story to tell about the long-term commitment of its team members. More than 40 percent of its staff has been with San Manuel for more than five years, and five team members have worked with the enterprise since the opening of the bingo hall doors 35 years ago. Each of the five has taken a unique path, and all have found value in being part of the San Manuel family.
San Manuel is well on its way to filling nearly 2500 new positions needed by the end of 2021. Recruitment continues for Cooks, Cashiers, Custodians/Janitors, Groundskeepers and more, while efforts to fill Hospitality jobs will begin in mid-July. There are $1,000 welcome bonuses and up
“I remember sitting in the building when the tables were still being bolted into the floor, and the ceiling hadn’t been put in. There were about 100 employees talking about how San Manuel was going to be the biggest bingo hall and that we had a great opportunity for something that was new to the

Another item discussed was the city’s cemetery and how its level of care should be elevated now and in the future. “I would like to have a further discussion on the cemetery. I believe it should be maintained in a proper and dignified manner and very honestly it is not. It seems to come second to everyone in the city. I think we need to have a discussion to see if it’s smarter to contract out for our maintenance services,” said Mayor Pro Tem Scott.
“The proposed Fiscal Year 21-22 General Fund revenue is estimated at $103.2 million and compares to actual Fiscal Year 19-20 revenue of $102.8 million, an increase of 0.4 percent and follows the City’s budgeting practice of conservatively estimating annual increases in revenue associated with continued development of residential, commercial and industrial sectors of the Rialto economy,” continued Chandler.
The cemetery’s 2021-2022 enterprise funds revenue is budgeted at $91,910.
During discussion, Chandler also made mention that in May or June 2022 the city would receive its

Funding Channing Hawkins released the following statements: “I’m happy to deliver funds today to ensure the water infrastructure in Bloomington meets resident needs, now and well into the future,” Rep. Norma J. Torres said. “From replacing old pipelines to delivering new fire hydrants, water meters and waterline connections, I know West Valley Water District will make the most of this investment. I’m proud to partner with WVWD President Hawkins and his dedicated team to help support the Bloomington community, and I look forward to seeing these funds in use.” “Everyone at West Valley Water District gives their sincerest thanks to Representative Norma
Torres and the Appropriations Interior-Environment Subcommittee for their commitment to revitalizing water infrastructure in disadvantaged communities,” West Valley Water District Board President Channing Hawkins said. “This key investment in our community to replace aging, hard to access water pipelines—a key component of advancing environmental justice—will allow us to improve the quality of water and water infrastructure for some of the most vulnerable members of our community while expanding our infrastructure to accommodate the needs of our growing population.” Rep. Torres regularly leverages her seat on the powerful House Appropriations Committee to deliver federal funding to the Inland Empire.

n response to community outcry against significant funding reductions to KVCR, the San Bernardino Community College District Trustees reached out to their state representatives for assistance. The State Legislature came through to save this icon of the Inland Empire. With the passage of AB 132, a state budget trailer bill dedicated to education funding, KVCR, the broadcast arm of SBCCD, will continue as the only Inland Empire operated public media outlet. Earlier this year, Majority Leader Eloise Reyes (D-San Bernardino), Assemblymember James Ramos (D-Highland) and Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez (D-Chino) sent a letter to the Assembly Budget Committee requesting funding that would continue the operations of KVCR. Due to the fiscal challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic that impacted California’s community colleges, KVCR was at risk of funding cuts that would have resulted in the loss of flagship programs that serve the largest audiences and heavily incorporate local reporting, such as Morning Edition and All Things Considered, as well as PBS Kids. “This funding ensures that KVCR can continue to operate for the benefit of Inland Empire residents through continued coverage of our diverse region and communities.” Majority Leader Eloise Reyes continued, “SBCCD is one of the only community college districts in the country to have its
important news, weather, and traffic information not available on any other broadcast station.
own public service media outlet, and the benefit to our community through educational programing, news and public service information is invaluable.” “KVCR is a treasure in the Inland Empire, offering news and also rare cultural content such as Native American broadcasts that air across the country. KVCR enriches this region and adds diverse informational, educational and entertaining programming here and beyond its transmission area. Supporting KVCR is a benefit to all. ” – Assemblymember James C. Ramos “We all look forward to continue hearing the familiar voices of KVCR on the radio across the Inland Empire. For over 60 years, the public programming TV and radio programs have become something many families rely on for their news and entertainment.
This important investment in our region will benefit the community for years to come,” said Assemblymember Rodriguez. AB 132 provides $4,015,000 to SBCCD to continue the operations of KVCR which has proudly served millions of Inland Empire students and southern California residents since the 1950s. KVCRTV was the first PBS station in southern California, the second one in the state, and is a PBS national legacy station. Serving radio listeners in the Inland Empire region for over 60 years, 91.9-FM KVCR has been the most trusted source for information and cultural programming for over 2.3 million people living within its broadcast footprint. KVCR, a local NPR affiliate, is the only radio news station in the region. With over 20 local newscasts per day, KVCR provides Inland Empire residents with
Measure to assist businesses by moder nizing communication with employees working from home becomes law
S
enator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh (R-Yucaipa) announced that the Governor has signed into law Senate Bill 657, which will assist businesses in being able to better communicate with their employees who are working from home. SB 657 allows businesses with employees working from home or telecommuting to send specific employment-related documents electronically, in addition to having those notices at the place of business. “The pandemic has shifted the workplace for many, and in this new business climate, many businesses are trying to find new and innovative ways to provide the same services and share the same information with their employees as they did before the pandemic,” said Senator Ochoa Bogh. “I thank the Governor for signing my bill into law, which will modernize communication methods between employers and employees. SB 657 allows information to be sent electronically, ensuring employees who are working from home or teleworking continue to receive the same information that
they would have in the workplace, in addition to the current postings.” "This new law is good news for California employers who have been forced to rework the way they operate due to COVID-19 shutdowns. We are grateful to Senator Ochoa Bogh for her leadership on this common sense issue. Both employers and employees will benefit from the ease of being able to send and receive required posters and notices electronically," said CalChamber pol-
icy advocate Ashley Hoffman. COVID-19 has disrupted business practices and forced many industries to rework the way they operate in order to accommodate the orders from the state. However, there are certain notifications that employees must receive each year and there is no set way for employers to conduct that business now. SB 657 will fill this gap and ensure that employees are receiving the information that they need.
In addition, KVCR is proud to provide the only television channel in the United States devoted 100% to Native American and World Indigenous content. First Nations Experience (FNX) is distributed nationally over the PBS satellite system, and broadcast on over 40 transmitters to hundreds of communities and tribal territories across the U.S. from Alaska to New York. FNX is accessible to over 70 million households throughout the country, many in underserved and marginalized communities. KVCR is the only PBS/NPR/Na-
tive American content provider for the Inland Empire. KVCR-FM is an important part of a key statewide public radio consortium that collaborates to provide timely and relevant news coverage of events and major stories that affect California residents across the state. KVCR-TV is also part of the California Public Television group that collaborates on statewide issues and content. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, KVCR has focused on providing timely and accurate information regarding COVID-19. KVCR has also collaborated with local school districts to provide coordinated at-home learning TV content and educational materials to teachers and students.

he rolling hills around Crafton Hills College (CHC) in Yucaipa will soon transform into the field of play for new cross-country teams that will compete in the California Community College District Athletic Association. Josh Estrada, 29, is the new head coach for the sport that will express the spirit of the school mascot: Ryker the Roadrunner. “This is a brand-new team,” he said. “We are recruiting both women and men and we are starting from ground zero.” Estrada will spend the next year recruiting and training a team to prepare for competition in August 2022. Cross Country will be the third competitive sport for CHC, along with swimming and water polo. The Redlands native said he is already starting to get calls from
high school coaches who want to recommend athletes. “We expect to see an influx of runners who will choose CHC because it is close to their homes,” he said. “This is another opportunity for students to have an outlet to be active and to have a place to belong.” Estrada knows well what area high school athletes need: he ran two years of cross country at Redlands East Valley High School as a teen. “I ended up falling in love with it,” he said. "One good thing about the sport is that athletes can set individual records in addition to team records. So even runners in new programs can stand out quickly in the regional and state rankings." He earned his bachelor’s degrees in kinesiology and psychology together, in an effort to better under-
stand motivation and competition in sports. Estrada has 12 years of coaching in local running clubs, and is already well-acquainted with some of the athletes he will be training. Most recently he was the cross-country coach at Hillcrest High School in Riverside, Calif. and helped to build their program from scratch.
rived, administration said, “You’re the most qualified to coach the team, so how about it?” Estrada is not new to CHC -- he has been working with CHC's Fire Academy program and assisting with the students' physical conditioning. When it was time to hire
a cross-country coach, he was the obvious choice. Prospective athletes who are interested in joining the team can reach out to their current coach, or they can reach out directly to Crafton Hills College at CHC_info@craftonhills.edu.
“It’s a huge passion and I’ve seen a lot of success in my methodology of coaching,” he said. “It's so rewarding to see students develop into something more than they themselves were able to perceive. It starts with helping them see their own potential and how far they can go, not only in sports but in scholastics or in another personal goal.” Estrada described coaching as a career that fell into his lap rather than one he had to chase. He thought Hillcrest just wanted to consult with him about building a cross country team. When he ar-

he Association of California Symphony Orchestras (ACSO) announced today that the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra’s Music in the Schools Committee is a recipient of the 2021 Most Valuable Player (MVP) Volunteer Award. Launched in 1996, the Most Valuable Player Volunteer Award was created to recognize exemplary volunteers, volunteer projects, and volunteer organizations and to thank a few of the hundreds of dedicated, hardworking, and committed volunteers that orchestras and classical music organizations depend on every day.
"The San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra is proud to nominate the Music in the Schools Team for this year’s MVP Award," said Anne Viricel, Executive Director. "Meeting our mission over the past months has required creativity, collaboration, and the utilization of current technology unlike at any time before. The Team has demonstrated all these things in a way that both meets current needs and provides an outstanding foundation for future music education. This project team furthered the Symphony’s relationship with the local university and memorialized this partnership by ending each video with the logos of participant organizations. Every student who
sees the videos will see these logos and, we hope, recognize these organizations care about their academic and artistic future.” ACSO Executive Director Sarah Weber said, “During good times and bad, orchestras depend on volunteers to help with almost every aspect of their operations. They are working behind the scenes to make sure that the orchestra is operationally strong and active in the performance hall and beyond. The San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra’s Music in the Schools Committee is an outstanding example of how critical volunteers are to support music education programs in our communities.”

NOTICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this property lien, you should understand that there are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. You will be bidding on a lien, not on the property itself. Placing the highest bid at a trustee auction does not automatically entitle you to free and clear ownership of the property. You should also be aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a junior lien. If you are the highest bidder at the auction, you are or may be responsible for paying off all liens senior to the lien being auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the property. You are encouraged to investigate the existence, priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by contacting the county recorder's office or a title insurance company, either of which may charge you a fee for this information. If you consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the same lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust on the property. NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNER: The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law requires that information about trustee sale
postponements be made available to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled time and date for the sale of this property, you may call 916-939-0772 or visit this Internet Website WWW.NATIONWIDEPOSTING.COM, using the file number assigned to this case 190236. Information about postponements that are very short in duration or that occur close in time to the scheduled sale may not immediately be reflected in the telephone information or on the Internet Website. The best way to verify postponement information is to attend the scheduled sale. NOTICE TO TENANT: You may have a right to purchase this property after the trustee auction pursuant to Section 2924m of the California Civil Code. If you are an “eligible tenant buyer,” you can purchase the property if you match the last and highest bid placed at the trustee auction. If you are an “eligible bidder,” you may be able to purchase the property if you exceed the last and highest bid placed at the trustee auction. There are three steps to exercising this right of purchase. First, 48 hours after the date of the trustee sale, you can call (916) 939-0772, or visit this internet website www.nationwideposting.com using the file number assigned to this case 19-0236 to find the date on which the trustee’s sale was held, the amount of the last and highest bid, and the address of the trustee. Second, you must send a written notice of intent to place a bid so that the trustee receives it no more than 15 days after the trustee’s sale. Third, you must submit a bid so that the trustee receives it no more than 45 days after the trustee’s sale. If you think you may qualify as an “eligible tenant buyer” or “eligible bidder,” you should consider contacting an attorney or appropriate real estate professional immediately for advice regarding this potential right to purchase. FOR SALES INFORMATION AND STATUS 24 HOURS A DAY, SEVEN DAYS WEEK, GO TO: A WWW.NATIONWIDEPOSTING.COM OR CALL 916-9390772. ADDITIONAL INFORDISCLOSURES MATION, AND CONDITIONS OF SALE: (1) At the time of sale, the opening bid by the beneficiary may not represent a full credit bid. The beneficiary reserves the right, during the auction, to increase its credit bid incrementally up to a full credit bid. The beneficiary may also bid over and above its credit bid with cash, cashier's checks or cash equivalents. (2) The Trustee's Deed Upon Sale (TDUS) will not be issued to the successful bidder until the bidder's payment has been deposited in the trustee's bank and cleared (all holds released). The bidder may have to take additional actions as required by trustee's bank in order to facilitate the deposit and clearance of bidder's funds. (3) If, prior to the issuance of the TDUS, the trustee shall become aware of any deficiency in the foreclosure process, or if the trustee becomes aware of any bankruptcy or other legal issue affecting the validity of the foreclosure process, or if the trustee becomes aware of any bankruptcy or other legal issue affecting the validity of the foreclosure sale, then, after consultation with its attorneys, the trustee, in its sole discretion, may decline to issue the TDUS and return the bidder's funds, without interest. If, subsequent to the issuances of the TDUS, the trustee shall become aware of any deficiency in the foreclosure process, or if the trustee becomes aware of any bankruptcy or other legal issue affecting the validity of the foreclosure sale, then, after consultation with its attorneys, the trustee, in its sole discretion, may rescind the TDUS pursuant to Civil Code Section 1058.5(b) and return the bidder's funds, without interest. (4) When conducted, the foreclosure sale is not final until the auctioneer states "sold". Any time prior thereto, the sale may be canceled or postponed at the discretion of the trustee or the beneficiary. A bid by the beneficiary may not result in a sale of the property. All bids placed by the auctioneer are on behalf of the seller/beneficiary. THIS COMMUNICATION MAY BE CONSIDERED AS BEING FROM A DEBT COLLECTOR.
