Qadisiyah LC History
ÂŤ Today is your opportunity to build tommorrrow as you want ÂŤ
Qadisiyah LC History First of all, we would like to declare that the struggles we faced as Qadsyiah LC and the efforts that were put together are the reason why we reached this point., including all of the ideas , decisions , meetings and sessions during 2018 and 2019 before obtaining the full memebership ,as well as 2019 and 2020 after obtaining the full membership . After many discussions with people in concern from the local Qadisiyah team , We decided that the documentation should be in a tabular form of two sections . One deals with the physical activities and sessions that took place before pandemic within 2019 . Another one is concerned with the activities amd sessions that took place online after the pandemic started in 2020 .

Don`t Fall Project
Don`t FALL was created to provide a long-term care to patients in Elderly Home , but first improving participants` skills and knowledge in this purpose . This required setting up a plan in which there should be coordination between more than one committee to achieve the desired goals. After the end of the first and second phases of the SCOME and SCORP. The third phase, which was implemented by SCOPH, started and was able to utilize the results of the previous activities, especially the good connection that was established between participants and patients earlier .
Then all of the skills and knowledge that were gained by the participants would be put into action . At the beginning of the work, a detailed medical history was taken from each patient with the physical Examination, then giving them medical advices and recommendations to improve their conditions .
Since Noncommunicable diseases became one of the major causes of death worldwide and specially in our country, SCOPH in Qadisiyah LC chose to help our community in order to help with prevention by providing our SCOPHeroes with full knowledge and experience regarding NCDS to spread awareness and reduce the danger of those diseases. So , we arranged the NCDS Week that included hypertension , MI , DM and GIT problems including peptic ulcer and irrtibial bowel disease. After the Sessions we noticed gaining alot of information according to the pre and post evaluation forms .
The ÂŤNCDS weekÂť was the first step towards organizing many activities in the same field, but in other topics. some of these topics included : 1. Cancer and body systems : We talked about the most common cancer types , diagnosis and treatment. 2. The Thriving Well on your 20s : We talked about obesity and its relationship to other public health problems such as NCDS and mental health .
SCORP: History: In 1983, the Standing Committee on Refugees was formed, then In 1995, the committee changed the name to Standing Committee on Refugees and Peace, and finally, in 2005 it became the SCORP that we know today, Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace.
Vision: SCORP has a vision of a peaceful world where all individuals are entitled to full and equal access to their human rights, in which no one is left unheard , priority is given to people in greatest need and the entire society, including medical students and health workers, unite to support vulnerable groups.
Mission: The mission of SCORP is to empower and motivate medical students to actively promote and protect human rights and peace through cooperation, increasing awareness and by supporting the students in doing activities and projects which are important to create a fair and peaceful world.
« Dear SCORPions , Human Rights and Peace are two of the most important topics due to their role in gaining justice and equality . It’s our responsibility as ‘rights holder’ and maybe ‘duty bearers’ when we are part of SCORP to make people fully aware of human right violation and also how much power and control they have in this purpose » Mohammed Hassan

Majina
A well known Iraqi campaign which aims to help people in need generally .In Qadisiyah , this campaign was set on work in early 2020 and focused mainly on homeless people and children as a priority ! Many other goals as well :Firstly , to reach those poor areas that aren`t receiving any humanitarian aids . Secondly , to work to provide the necessary food needs to the maximum extent possible , by arranging special food baskets containing all the basics needed . Within nearly two months, this campaign was able to collect nearly two million dinars donations and was divided into 3 smaller campaigns in order to reach all the targeted families . The number of beneficiaries reached 130 families .
SCOME History: Standing Committee On Medical Education (SCOME) is the first standing committee from the beginning of its foundation i
Vision Medical students attain an optimal professional and personal development to reach their full potentials as future doctors for better healthcare services worldwide.
Mission Our mission is summarized in which medical students worldwide contribute to the development of medical education. Students join SCOME to share and learn about medical education in order to improve it as well as gain benefits on a personal and professional basis.
ÂŤ Welcome SCOMEdians! Medical Education should be a concern of every medical student as it shapes not only the quality of future doctors but also the quality of healthcare services given . All of our work in this field aims to create sustainable changes around the world, for ourselves as medical students, for the upcoming generations to and for our future patients and our communities who are in fact the final beneficiaries of our education. Don`t Fall / History Taking
This event was the first step of our amazing project ÂŤDON`T FALLÂť in which a group of medical students learned and discussed the skills of history taking , as well as other important informations that helped to prepare them clinically. The project coordinator participated in the preparation and organization of this session is Mohammed AL-
Suturing Workshop
This workshop was characterized by a high degree of balance between the theoretical and practical aspects , in which the discussion was about stitching wounds (methods and types) in addition to the types of needls. After explaining these topics and related medical informations , it was important to divide the participants into small working groups in order to enhance this information in practice . This workshop was coordinated by some medical stagers.
Defensive medicine Clinical Session aimed to protect doctors from legal prosecution. In this session, we talked about defensive medicine and discussed its importance and the role of medical students in it with some very useful tips and advices in this regard .
One of the most great features of working in Qadisiyah LC is that our events combine the plan of local officers with the aspirations of active members, as exemplified by our project ÂŤCancers and Body SystemsÂť. Considering cancer as one of the most dangerous global public health problems , it was a very important and interesting topic for our project . The work here distinguishes itself by employing simulations between the development of medical education and public health services which leads to improving IFMSA members and equipping them towards future projects that are both comprehensive and accurate. Two subject were focused on : The first one being lung cancer and the second being GIT cancers , as well as providing good knowledge of diagnosis and treatment.
SCORA: History: The Standing Committee on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights including HIV and AIDS was formed in 1992.
Vision: A world where every individual is empowered to exercise their sexual and reproductive health rights equally, free from stigma and discrimination.

Angles first Mission
(The main purpose of this event was to introduce the attendees to IFMSA and SCORA).
Family Planning
(We discussed the importance of family planning to establish a healthy, balanced family in society . We also mentioned the need for advance planning for having children so that they can enjoy a comfortable life and have better educational opportunities, reduce poverty, as well as control the overpopulation . The members also learned about some contraceptives , the session ended with a small quiz that was used as a useful feedback .
Generation Equality
Generation equality (This event happened on The International Women›s s Day, so we provided an overview of that day and discussed the gender equality . We also mentioned the topic of violence against women. It was a lovely discussion and useful sharing of ideas!
WHAT HAPPENED AFTER COVID19 ?! SCOPH SCOPH arranged a number of sessions on introducing IFMSA’s members to the most important information about COVID19 including common mistakes and wrong methods that would increase the spread of the epidemic . After that, a number of field campaigns were organized that targeted stores, bakeries, police stations , banks , and currency exchange offices as they were the most in contact with people during the pandemic .
SCORP SCORP sent its message to health cadres through a video that is full of support and appreciation for their incredible efforts as frontline warriors .Then , moved towards spreading real awareness of the psychological aspects of people infected with COVID19 and how others actually react and deal with this group of people , so a session was organized called (COVID19 - stigma and discrimination).
SCOME A new window was opened for SCOME as it moved forward in getting closer to its vision . Many educational and training events were presented in a way that guarantees a continuation in giving , such as the benefits obtained from many peer educational sessions and training workshops provided by a number of trainers. This committee also aims to work in coordination with other agencies in a way that can provide an exchange of experiences and knowledge. All of the experiences gained have given birth to other more activities and the circle still continues until something great is achieved .In addition to everything , all the local officers of Qadisiyah are working in a great coordination together , each one of his / her own field in order to get a perfect bigger picture! Alot of work was done by each one of them , and some of it even reached the national level ! Also , many goals were set in this term and thankfully most of these goals have been partially or fully achieved .
SCORA SCORA continued to work hard during the pandemic by approaching various interesting topics , it also played an important role in spreading awareness about covid 19 in coordination with the other committees . Two sessions were organized in this concern : The first one talked about the health of pregnant women and how
to provide them with all of essentials in order to reach healthy pregnancy and delivery as well as the postpartum care , we also talked about the relationship of Covid 19 and mentioned the important information and procedures that were provided by the World Health Organization . The second one was about gender - based violence , we discussed the issue and its consequences , we also mentioned some important examples about gender equality and finally we mentioned the effects of COVID19 on gender equality and the stigma that occured in this concern .
MMPSD: The role of the Media is very important and essential around the world and in IFMSA in particular , in which it basically aims to translate events organized by each committee into video publications or brochures, to transmit event information visually. In Qadisiyah LC , we focused to make the publications interesting , modern , simple and interactive to deliver information to all age groups as well as all strata of society , especially medical information. And Because of our belief that the media section is the first interface that motivates and encourages people for any event , we`ve worked on developing our designs to include brochures, infographic posters, and motion graphic videos. And to summarize it with few words : The media was present in every single activity , whether related to COVID-19 or others.
