A word from our co-founder Colin Thompson On behalf of all the Clever Duck Media Team I welcome you to the 17th year of the International Gaming Awards, hosted once more at the iconic Savoy Hotel in London. The awards is the culmination of the last twelve months efforts, innovation and hard work in the industry and we want to congratulate all those who have reached the finals. For the winners there is a podium appearance, a chance to thank and congratulate the whole team that has got you on stage for these magnificant awards and collect one of the most prestigous awards within the gaming industry.

The past twelve months have seen more mergers and indeed new challenges for the industry and those who will take to the stage as a winner this time truly deserve the recognition. Our aim this evening is for everyone to have a wonderful evening, we have lined-up some superb entertainment and along with fine dining and the odd drink or two, we really do hope you have a great evening. It only leaves me to say good luck to all the finalists, it really is an achievement to reach the finals given there was some 750+ entries this year, so well done to all. Let the games begin......

Children With Cancer

The 2024 International Gaming Awards is supporting two charities this year and we are proud to offer our support to Care International along with Children with Cancer. Children with Cancer UK is the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. Almost 4,000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. Our aims are to determine the causes, find cures and provide care for children with cancer. We want to help more children with cancer across the UK. That’s why we invest millions of pounds every year in essential research, and welfare programmes and raising awareness. More than 70 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every week in the UK. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, it can be a frightening experience for the whole family. Treatment normally starts immediately, is often given many miles from home and can last for several years. At Children with Cancer UK, we fund innovative welfare projects to provide better care and practical support for young cancer patients and their families.

We are currently funding more than 50 research projects at centres of excellence around the UK. These projects are investigating a broad range of childhood cancers – helping us to better understand these diseases and to find more effective, less toxic ways of treating them. All applications for funding are rigorously assessed by members of our Scientific Advisory Panel, with the assistance of other leading experts from around the world. In this way we can be confident that we are funding only the most promising research. One of the greatest medical success stories of the last century is the amazing growth in the survival from childhood cancer. Fifty years ago, only a quarter of children diagnosed with cancer survived. Today, more than 80 per cent of young patients can be successfully treated. ...unfortunately the children who survive may be left with serious health and developmental problems...However, cancer still claims the lives of around 250 children every year in the UK.

t’s almost two decades ago that we first started to hear people talk about diversity and the Women in Gaming Awards was launched. At that time many believed there was no need to hold such an event, many comments were “that women had their voice the same as the men.” We all know that is not true and the launch of the WIG and now including diversity, inclusion and wellbeing is

such an important part of everyones lives. Each year the WIG host what many say is the most important event for women in the business. We are delighted that from our beginings many more companies are following our lead and recognise the brilliant work and contribution women make in the gaming business. But we always have to grow and inclusion and diversity

is so very important also, the WIG recognises this and has expanded to include this in our annual talks by leading influencers in that sphere. We were told it would never be popular, there is no need for such an event, all negatives we and many involved in diversity and sexual equality have heard for so long. n February 4th, 2024, we leave Period 8 and step into the next 20-year period known as the Period of 9. This is a significant milestone in Flying Star Feng Shui because it is when the stars transition into their next Chi states, and when an array of new influences begin to take effect. A period change is a big thing. In Flying Star Feng Shui, there are 9 periods altogether; each one ties to a sector in the Lo Shu Magic Square. Each period lasts 20 years and is governed by a number, with each number being associated with particular qualities, giving us an indication of what kind of luck patterns any particular period will bring. What can we expect from Period 9? In Period 9, the number 9 reigns supreme, bringing fame, fortune, new opportunities and new wealth.

While the number 8 continues to be an auspicious wealth-attracting number, it loses strength in Period 9 and can even start to manifest some of its negative qualities such as weak health and low vitality.
