On behalf of all the Clever Duck Media Team I welcome you to the 18th year of the International Gaming Awards, hosted for the first ever time in Barcelona at the Intercontinental Hotel. The awards is the culmination of the last twelve months efforts, innovation and hard work in the industry and we want to congratulate all those who have reached the finals.
For the winners there is a podium appearance, a chance to thank and congratulate the whole team that has got you on stage for these magnificant awards and collect which is certainly the most important awards within the gaming industry.
The reason for that is we are the ONLY transparent Awards event in the sector, now linking up with the most respected Audit company MOORE to offer even more creditibility to your award.
The past twelve months have seen more challenges for the industry and those who will take to the stage as a winner this time truly deserve the recognition.
Our aim this evening is for everyone to have a wonderful evening, we have lined-up some superb entertainment and along with fine dining and the odd drink or two, we really do hope you have a great evening.
It only leaves me to say good luck to all the finalists, it really is an achievement to reach the finals given there was some 820+ entries this year, so well done to all.

Our mission is to be recognised as the place to turn for information and support on everything to do with breast cancer. And as the driving force behind breakthroughs in prevention, detection, and treatment.

WHY WE SHOULD TALK
Diversity within the Gaming Industry
It’s almost two decades ago that we first started people talk seriously about diversity and inclusion and so Clever Duck Media decided to be the very first to recognise the need for the Women in Gaming Awards and so was launched in 2009.
At that time many believed there was no need to hold such an event, many comments were “that women had their voice the same as the men.”
We all know that is not true
and the launch of the WIG and now including diversity, inclusion and wellbeing is such an important part of everyones lives.
Each year the WIG host what is the most important event for women & diversity in the industry.
We are delighted that from our beginings many more companies are following our lead and recognise the brilliant work and contribution women make in the gaming business.
The Diversity & Wellbeing Awards hosted by the Women in Gaming we always host motivating thought provoking speakers. Join us on the 5th June 2025
But we always have to grow and inclusion and diversity is so very important also, the WIG recognises this and has expanded to include this in our annual talks by leading influencers in that sphere.
We were told it would never be popular, there is no need for such an event, all nega tives we and many involved in diversity and sexual equality have heard for so long.

On Janaury 29 2025, The Lunar New Year welcomes the Year of the Snake, according to the Chinese lunar calendar. Celebrated by millions around the world, this is a time for cultural traditions, family reunions, and hopes for good fortune in the coming year.

According to legend, Nian was a terrifying beast with sharp teeth and horns, living deep in the sea. Every Lunar New Year’s Eve, Nian would come ashore to wreak havoc in the villages.
In 2025, Lunar New Year falls on January 29, kicking off the 16-day Spring Festival.
As we move from the energetic and dynamic Year of the Dragon, 2025 brings the Snake’s wise and intuitive energy. The Snake, symbolizing wisdom and transformation, offers opportunities for personal growth and change.
Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, marks the start of a new zodiac cycle based on the Chinese lunar calendar. Each year, the date shifts within the Gregorian calendar.
This festival is celebrated worldwide, particularly in Asian countries like China. Festivities include red decorations, elaborate meals, thorough cleaning of homes, and visiting family.
A major tradition involves lighting firecrackers, originating from the legend of the monster Nian.
One year, the villagers discovered that Nian feared the color red and loud noises. To protect themselves, they hung red decorations and lit firecrackers to scare the monster away. The strategy worked, and Nian was driven back to the sea.
This story explains two important traditions— hanging red decorations and lighting firecrackers—representing victory over evil and a fresh start to the year.
The Chinese Zodiac operates on a 12-year cycle, with each year represented by a different animal. In 2025, we enter the Year of the Snake, the sixth animal in the zodiac cycle.
According to Chinese mythology, the order of the zodiac animals was decided by a Great Race hosted by the Jade Emperor. The Snake, clever and strategic, coiled around the Horse’s hoof, managing to finish the race ahead of the Horse and claim sixth place.
