COAST & COUNTRY

“Exmoor and Dartmoor are sacred, magical places. You find a truer side of yourself there.” - Dave Davies

If you are someone who struggles to decide between coast and country, make the Mid Devon area your base. Right in the heart of Devon, where you’ll find places like Tiverton, you’re in the heart of the countryside, full of rolling hills and hidden woodland, while being equidistance from the coast and the two national parks.

A garden for everyone

You can easily be on the Jurassic Coast within half an hour by car and at the English Riviera in less by using the trainline.

RHS Garden Rosemoor, located between Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks, is stunning through every season. Hosting events including summer holiday activities, craft fairs, flower shows and Glow winter illuminations, there is something for everyone. Book online at rhs.org.uk/rosemoor

If there’s one thing we can agree on it’s that dogs love beaches, luckily many of the beaches in Devon are dogfriendly. Some allow total freedom, allowing dogs the chance to go all over the beach all year round, while others have dog friendly sections and others only ban dogs in the busier summer months.

Experience FROM ACTIVITIES TO ATTRACTIONS THERE’S PLENTY TO EXPERIENCE Whether you’re visiting for the day or staying a bit longer, you’ll have some amazing experiences while in Devon. Devon has a wide variety of attractions on offer, from all weather, family friendly attractions like award winning zoos, theme parks and museums to beautiful parks and gardens all over the county.

It isn’t just the accommodation providers who are taking a stand when it comes to climate change. Devon’s eateries have been promoting locally sourced food for years, but many of them have also swapped from single use plastics like straws to more sustainable options, like paper and bamboo. Plus, by eating locally, you’re helping to not only reduce food miles, but also support the amazing local producers who in turn take care of the incredible landscape, it’s win/win! 13 Feb - 31 Oct 2021
