Welcome to the 2024 Wessex Beer, Cider and Music Festival!

Like previous years, this year’s event promises to be energetic and entertaining with a host of live music, food and of course - drink! Brought to you by The Midsomer Norton & Radstock Rotary Club, all proceeds will go towards raising funds for worthwhile causes around the local area. Our mission is to bring people together through a great selection of food and drink, a range of bands and performers, a terrific atmosphere, and of course, a good time for everybody!

Families are of course welcome, but please make sure the under 18s are supervised by an adult at all times and that they are off site after 6pm. Please note, under 18s are not allowed in the bar area and must not be given alcoholic drinks - all that remains to be said is have fun and drink responsibly!

Just a short taster of some of the Beers and Ciders on offer

Doom Bar 4%

• Amber ale from Sharps Brewery, perfectly balanced beer combining subtle yet complex flavours. AROMA: Spicy resinous hop, sweet roasted malts. TASTE: Balanced, succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malt.

Sharps Twin Coast 3.9%

• Zesty, refreshing and citrus session pale ale from Sharps Brewery.

Ossett White Rat 4%

• This very pale ale from the Ossett Brewery is made from low colour malt. A combination of Cascade, Columbus and Amarillo hops produce an intensely aromatic and resinous finish.

Nano Cask 3.4%

• Bristol Moor Beer company. A quaffable British session bitter, malty, fruity, bitter and highly drinkable.

Independence 4.6%

• Bristol Beer Factory. Pale Ale, The best American hops built on a solid malt platform. Copper Colour.

Milk Stout 4.5%

• The original Bristol Beer factory Milk Stout with smooth chocolatey sweetness and balancing coffee bitterness with hints of dark fruits. This award winning national champion stout is a beautifully creamy, full-bodied stout.

Bath Ales Gem 4.8%

• Amber ale using British malts with tastes of soft fruits and bittersweet caramel with a soft, smooth bitterness.

Cornish Best (Bitter) 3.4%.

• St Austell Brewey Cornish craft ale. Moreish, sessionable ale with a toffee apple and peppery hop taste.

London Pride 4.7%

• Fuller’s Griffin Brewery. A popular amber ale made with 100% British hops.

Butcombe Original 4.5%

• Created from Maris Otter malt and a secret blend of English hops. Meticulously crafted before ‘craft’ was even a thing. It has a distinctive bitter, clean and refreshing flavour.

Butcombe Rare Breed 3.8%

• Using the finest Maris Otter malting barley and aromatic Fuggles hops, delicious, fruity Cascade and Amarillo hops and, Mendip Spring Water, this is a distinctive, clean tasting pale ale with a smooth, citrus twist.

Proper Job 4.5%

• An authentic IPA from St Austell Brewey packed full of vibrant citrus, grapefruit and pineapple flavours. Balanced with a crisp, bitter finish. A bold original, with reliable quality in every sip.

• Goram IPA from Butcombe The IPA uses a punchy blend of American and Worcestershire hops to balance stone fruit, citrus and bitter notes with spicy hop aromas.

Appley Dapply

• A sweet, lively cider that blends traditional bitter sweet apples with a more contemporary Russet apple to make a light, refreshing and quaffable cider.

Pineapple & Pink Grapefruit 4%

• The sweet tasty Pineapple is balanced out by the tangy Grapefruit. English cider with a tropical twist!!

Very Perry 5.10%

• A fruity medium Perry with a complex yet balanced flavor only found in real Perry. This little number is made from Stinking Bishop Perry pears and has all the hall marks of a top quality Perry. Very Perry was recently awarded Bronze in the CAMRA National Perry Awards.

Rhubarb & Strawberry 3.4%

• Mustn’t grumble, we love a bit of crumble! A cider twist on a classic dessert, fresh rhubarb juice and the sweet, crushed strawberries blend exceptionally. You’ll be asking for more of this humble pie!

Cherry & Pineapple 3.4%

• The tropical twist of pineapple and cherry give this Herefordshire craft cider its deliciously moreish exotic flavour.

Wild Cat 5.5%

• Dorset Nectar. A medium single orchard cider with a lingering appley aftertaste. Second place British Champion Organic Cider 2016.

Thatchers Traditional 6%

• Mellow, dry and naturally hazy, Stan’s Trad is a full-bodied farmhouse cider.

Thatchers Cheddar Valley

• A real product of the landscape, Cheddar Valley cider is distinctively orange and cloudy in character, it’s chock-full of apple flavours like Tremlett’s Bitter and Dabinett. Matured medium dry.

Apples & Pears

4%

• Made from 88% pear and 12% apple. Sweet in flavour with a mouth-watering almost exotic taste. Lilley’s Cider.

Mango

4%

• An aromatic sweet cider expertly blended with exotic mango to create a mouth watering tropical flavour. Lilley’s Cider.

Flash Harry 4%

• Tasty and fresh, with a citrus kick. Just the right amount of cider aftertaste coming through at the end. Harry’s Cider.

Weston’s Rosy Pig

4.2%

• New and improved blend by Weston’s 5th Generation Cider Maker, Guy Laurence. Rosy’s Pig now has a more refreshing apple taste at a lower ABV. Cloudy, still and pale straw coloured it has a crisp apple flavour with a refreshing fruity finish. Medium dry and easy drinking.

Sandford

Fanny’s Bramble 3.4%

• Fanny’s Lane runs out of the village of Sandford, in the late summer its hedges are full of Blackberries, plucked to go into crumbles, pies and Sandford’s exceptional cider. Medium sweet from Sandford orchards.

Cotswold Cider Freak Show 4.5%

• Twisted kicks of bittersweet cider apple give this medium cider that freaky feel. Through the depths of cloudy apple goodness, the freak reveals itself to the echoes of a distant past, to real cider’s glory days.

Gwynt-Y-Dolraig – Happy Daze

4.5%

• Who can resist a light, bright, fruity glass of Happy Daze? It’s got a smooth and fresh tasting finish. It’s a light and very easy to drink medium cider.

Fire Dancer

• A traditional cloudy cider with a rich rosy colour. This cider has been packed full of apples to really allow the taste to come through. Medium. Lilley’s.

Thatchers

Gold 4.8%

• Gold showcases the very best of what cider making is all about. Crafted from a blend of apples, including Dabinett and Harry Masters Jersey, Gold sets the standard. A real ‘cider drinker’s cider’.

Thatchers

Haze 4.5%

• The only cloudiness we like is in Haze cider. A thirst-quenching combination of Discovery, Falstaff, Gala and Jonagold apples are crafted into this crisp, sweet cider.

Bee Sting

6.8%

• Sweet but incredibly refreshing with a glorious fresh tasting pear flavour and a wonderful pear aroma.Lightly sparkling famous perry from Lilleys.

Weston’s Rosie’s Pig Rhubarb

4%

• Hazy light pink colour still cider. smells Fruity and distinctive with hints of rhubarb. taste is complex, slightly astringent with a hint of citrus and tart finish.

Weston’s Old Rosie

6.8%

• Straw coloured hazy cider. Classic cider smell with scents of bittersweet apples, haybarns and honey. Taste: A traditional cidery taste, with classic spicy and citrusy notes.

FRIDAY’S HEADLINERS

Local 7 piece band, Honky Tonks, will be headlining on Friday night from 9.30pm.

Fronted by the very talented Ian Hobbs, and supported by a host of musicians and a superb brass section, the Honky Tonks will take to the stage to deliver their big sound and energetic performance.

Their repertoire includes rousing renditions of One Step Beyond, Everybody Needs Somebody To Love, Monkey Man, Mustang Sally and loads more!

The soul / rock / pop band really give it their all when performing to create a terrific atmosphere and give you every opportunity to sing and dance along.

SATURDAY’S HEADLINERS

Call The Shots will be headlining on Saturday night from 9.30pm

Local businessman, Darren Wilkins and the lads always give 100% when they perform, embracing the fact that their audiences just want to enjoy themselves.

Their brand of anthemic rock and sing along pop has gained them a local loyal following.

Their set list is diverse and packed full of hits that can be enjoyed by all ages. With fun songs, some cheesy favourites as well as some great old-school rock n roll, there’s plenty to get you dancing, or at least get your toes tapping!

The Wessex Beer and Cider Festival aims to raise money for good causes and this year’s supported charities are:

Dementia UK

Dementia UK are a specialist nursing charity that helps provide free, life changing support and advice to anyone affected by dementia. Dementia UK’s nurses, known as Admiral Nurses work every day to make sure that those affected by dementia do not face the condition alone.
