A R GY L E BUILDING
YEAR: lo cat io n :
Project developed for the Introduction to Digital Fabrication class at University of Colorado Denver with the Prof. Kevin Hirth, where the proposal was reinterpret the Seagram Building by Mies Van Der Rohe in New York City. Using Rhinoceros and Grasshopper we should play with skills that we acquired in this class. For the final proposal, besides a 3D model and render, we should fabricate a physical model using laser cutter. The whole process was developed by Igor Dantas, Jorge Lira and Nadia Spencer. A time-lapse video captured the assembly process of the physical model which can be accessed through the following QR code:

The Old Marques de Almeida Industry is located in the historical center of Campina Grande, PB. The edification founded by DionĂsio Marques in 1922, marked the local economy for having been the first textile industry in town. The area where the factory is currently placed already have been the Boninas Cemitery in 1857. Subsequently it has received various uses related to trade, which is probably responsable for the deterioration of the building. It has eclectic architecture, with art deco and colonial references.It was identified the need to revitalize the physical structure of this building and its surroundings, as well as encourage the implantation of new uses that rescue the history of that space, allowing a new flow and a greater visibility, potentializing the whole area.
The EVIMA proposal has as guideline the rescue of the industry feeling through the preservation of the characteristic elements of buildings of this typology, such as the use of wide spaces, modulation of pillars, huge use of natural light, as well as a surprise element, by the use of contrasting components, while respecting the harmony of the environment.
It was found that in the surroundings there were a lack of appropriate living spaces for people who work in downtown. It was detected as well, the importance of rethinking the Community Restaurant of this area as a space that offers comfort and a new experience, combining three established axes: Rest, Feed and Information.
. Reopening of the original frames, to provide a greater interaction with the exterior and to guarantee the environmental comfort;
Based on the mentioned axes, the new use proposes a living space, which houses the Community Restaurant of the city and interactive spaces that offers culture and leisure, creating different micro-climates for food, education and living. Despite satisfactorily receiving the program requirements, the building underwent some changes:
. Removal of the annexed building, since it does not make historical reference to the Industry and works only as a visual barrier to the original exterior facade;
REST
. Removal of some damaged walls and floors; FEED
. Cuts on the ground to fit the proposed requirements program.

Power as my source of materials because of the vast variety of materials they had to offer. To start, my classmate found a diamond mesh metal as her material. I liked the piece, wanted to use it, and as my instructor suggested, we used the material in the same way to make harmonious furniture pieces.
Initially, I wanted to do a dinning table using metal as a support, however because of the metals shape, I could tell that it would better suited for a coffee For the development of this project, I first thought table. The models built in class were essential in of a useful piece of furniture to build. At first, it was the creative process, because they yielded the final hard to think of an idea, so I decided it would be shape. I thought that the mixture of wood and meteasiest to use the materials that I had to my disposal al was an interesting combination for this application. as inspiration. From this point, I tried to imagine some- I found that the warm, and the natural wood comthing different, beautiful and useful. I chose Porta plemented the cold, the dark metal in a good way.

DECA RESTROOM COMPETITION
YEAR: location:
This competition has as main goal to design a music festival restroom using just DECA’s products. For this reason, THE BIGGEST SÃO JOÃO OF THE WORLD was chosen as study object, since it is a local event held annualy in Campina Grande - Paraíba and lasts 30 days , where s 42 thousand square meters structure is built. Many differents stages are built for concerts and local performace presentations, and also structures for bars and restaurants which offers plenty options of local food and beverage. The diagram in the side, shows the place where the main stage is located which has the capacity for more than 21 thousand people per night. In 2017, although there were a big area dedicated to the restroom areas, the place used to have just 10 women restrooms and 06 for the men, for this reason I figured out the necessity of implementation of this project for this area. The idea was to create a ludic space, that would refer it self to the backwoods setting, which has a strong connection to the local event.

YEAR:
non-arch competition Perhaps this is the most appropriate word to describe the idea behind this project. When we go to a new city, we may enjoy it`s attractions, but in a certain way we do not belong to it. We face obstacles everywhere, all the time. It is always hard to find the services we need, the right places to go, stay or eat. However, there is one place that tries to gather all this services, the hotel. It receives and treats you in a way you fell part of that place. It might be a cozy hotel that resembles your home, or something luxurious. It might offer you one thousand different services, or just be a place to sleep well.

create unprecedented freedom, which will change the way we communicate to cities dramatically. Now we belong to the city and the city belongs to us, being all the services connected to a single virtual space but spread across infinite physical spaces. This is Belong, the idea of being anywhere, and sleeping everywhere. FINALIST TEAM: ANITA URBANO, IGOR DANTAS, JORGE LIRA, LAURO FRANZÉ
This project is a part of an interesting idea: What if we could enjoy this kind of feeling not just in this specific place, but in the whole city? What if the city itself were a big and comfortable hotel? It is a fact that technology increased the number of service providers, such as taxi services or living services, like Uber and Airbnb. But all this apps are very specific, offering just one kind of service. It is right there that Belong comes. It is a digital platform that enables regular people to offer hotel’s services. Thus, all the Belong users will be able to access these services not just in one place, but spread around the city. It starts with simple things, such as someone who wants to make extra money and decides to offer a bathroom that is not being used in their house. And it goes to more complex ideas, such as places to eat, exercise or sleep. Here, the idea of sleeping is not restricted to an act neither to a place. The access to the platform would be through an app or a website. It would find for you, using a GPS, people offering all kinds of service, such as an appropriate place for a work meeting, or a nice and exclusive place to have breakfast. The best part is that money would be unnecessary because all the payments would be done through the platform. The entire city is now your hotel. This project represents no just the idea itself, but all the potentiality it has, revealing all the nonarchitecture behind it. These potentialities will

YEAR: lo cat io n :
This project was developed for the Special Topics Design class. The main goal was that each student would design and fabricate a piece of furniture made merely by plywood. The professor would show us how the proccess of designing a furniture works, since the precedent studies, 3D modeling, making small scale models, to the final full scale piece. Basically we used softwares such as SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, and also it was necessary a 20 hours workshop to be able to use the machines in the woodshop.

Gradations Bench is intended for big spaces, which could be either residencial or public spaces such as museums and restaurants. The idea of creating this bench is designing a furniture that could be also used as an art piece to be appreciated. In order to make the transportation easier and to give to the owner the chance to costumize his/her piece in their own taste, the bench was designed in modules, making possible to gather and arrange the pieces in many ways.

When designing an affordable housing, it is essential that the building has a simple execution as well as flexibility of occupation. In addition, the project must seek for a permeability and clarity in the spaces, an adequate insertion, acecessibility, adequacy to norms, inclusion and social adequacy and maximum use of the constructive potential, ensuring that this last element do not make a negative impact to the architectural quality of the building.
For this project it was thought the use of simple constructive methods and use of materials resources easily found in the region. The flexibility of occupation is done by the creation of two typologies of housing units, which includes 48 apartments, all of them adaptable. Also, all units have balconies that work as an extension of the apartment and enhance a visual relationship between interior and exterior.
