2020 IHSAA State Golf Tournament
Strong to the Finish Welcome to the 2020 State Golf Tournament! You've persevered and worked hard to get to this point and we are proud to support this amazing event and celebrate your accomplishments. To the Iowa Farm Bureau, this is more than a sport. It's a chance for small-town kids to make it big. It's our state's future leaders. It's a reason to do more. Be more. It's that Farm Strong ® spirit that can only be found in Iowa. And it's why, for a century, we've been an advocate for Iowa's farmers and rural communities, reinvesting more than $125 million to bring new jobs to rural Iowa over the past decade. It's why we provide nearly half a million dollars in scholarships each year to young Iowans and continue to invest in solutions in areas such as bio-renewables and value-added agriculture that create new opportunities and improve the quality of life for all Iowans. It's also why we are proud to be the title sponsor of the Iowa High School Athletic Association, Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and presenting sponsor of the Iowa Hall of Pride because they remind us all - if you can believe it - you can achieve it! As we celebrate your Farm Strong spirit at this year's state tournament, remember that the task ahead of you is never greater than the strength within you.

class 4a course Des Moines Golf & Country Club Start
Tee times will be used on Friday and Saturday. Tournament officials will match up No. 1 golfers with other schools No. 1 golfers. Individual qualifiers will play with other individual qualifiers. No players from the same school should be assigned to the same group. Groups on Saturday will be based upon Friday’s results and will be available one hour after all scores are turned in on Friday.
Team Scoring
Day 1 scores will be the four best scores recorded for each team. Day 2 is considered a new day and the four best scores on that day will be recorded. Total scores over two days determine team winners. If a team tie exists at the end of the second day, and team tiebreaker rules do not resolve the tie, the four members whose scores counted the last 18 holes will be the players involved in a playoff.
Awards
Medals will be awarded to the first four teams and top seven individuals. Ties for medalist will be broken through a suddendeath playoff. Other individual ties will be broken using a cardback system from that day’s score, in accordance with hole handicaps. Trophies are presented to the top three teams and IHSAA banners for the state champion and runner-up.
