This edition of the newsletter IIDENTIDAD informs about the most important activities undertaken by members of the Institute during the months of February and March of this year. IIDENTIDAD No. 8 remarks various outreach activities conducted at the Institute. Our participation in UABC Radio and opportunities for exchange with civil society organizations, the business sector and various levels of state education system allows us to disseminate the results of the research we develop, and exchange views on the problems we see in the entity and its possible solutions.

Project of the month “Design of instruments for self-testing of indicators of democratic, inclusive and non-violent coexistence." This project, coordinated by Dr. Alicia Chaparro Lopez through the Educational Evaluation Unit (UEE) in agreement with the Universidad Iberoamericana León (UIA) and the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, aims to develop and validate assessment instruments for democratic, inclusive and peaceful coexistence in the country's high school students. The research, funded by the Council of Science and Technology of the State of Guanajuato, started in April 2012 with a workshop in which experts participated in the theme of school life from Universidad La Salle, the Institute of Technology and Higher Studies (ITESO) Guadalajara and the University Iberoamericana. In this workshop the questions base that would be subsequently apply as part of the validation process accordingly, were integrated.

Dr. Alicia Chaparro Caso Lopez holds a B.A. in Psychology, Master in Experimental Psychology and a PhD in Experimental Analysis of Behavior from UNAM. Currently participates as a lecturer in the graduate programs of the IIDE and coordinates the Educational Evaluation Unit. In the project is also involved Dr. Joaquin Caso Niebla and Carlos Diaz Lopez, student of the Master in Educational Sciences.
In June 2012 the test pilot was applied in schools of Baja California and Michoacan, application involving a sample of 1,400 students per entity, generating the first data on the behavior of the items proposed, results presented at the UIA Seminar to discuss the progress of the project "Coexistence indicators for the development of large-scale assessments and school self," held in November 2012. Today, we continue the process of validation and analysis of these instruments, pretending for this year to make a new application in Baja California, Guanajuato, Querétaro and UEE District in León, Guanajuato, and Distrito Federal.

On February 8th Dr. Graciela Cordero Arroyo met with members of the Advisory Board of the Regional Centre for Teacher Education and Educational Research in Sonora, with the aim of reviewing the Institutional Development Program and Center of graduate educational programs offered by this organization. Researcher from the IIDE participates at international forum organized by the APA. On March 8th, 9th and 10th Dr. Joaquín Caso Niebla was part of the Mexican delegation that participated in the State Leadership Conference El proceso de la convergencia digital: (SLC) 2013 organized by the American Psychological Association, in Washington, DC. This forum convenes experts and stakeholders in the regulation of professional practice of psychologists in the United States and Canada, being this time the only invitation extended to Mexico. In the context of this forum, Dr. Caso Niebla and the Mexican delegation also met privately with Dr. Norman Anderson, Merry Bullock, Greg Neimeyer and Susan Zlotlow, CEO of APA and responsible for international affairs, continuing education and accreditation of PhD programs, respectively.

Distinguished Scholar by the AECT presents lecture at the IIDE. Under the Educational Research Seminar offered by the IIDE, on March 6th Dr. Omar Alvarez Xochihua, professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the UABC, was participating at it. The researcher presented the study entitled "Use and Impact of intelligent tutoring systems in education" exhibition in which he presented before a large group of graduate students, virtual mentoring model that streamlines the learning process. In addition, he showed a number of models of intelligent advisory used in different areas worldwide.

Susana Juarez Salgado presented the thesis "Transformational leadership aimed at improving management of educational attainment. The case of the Public Elementary School Dr. Octavio León Medellin in Ensenada, Baja California”, research conducted by Dr. Graciela Cordero Arroyo, with which she obtained the degree of Master in Educational Science. Her thesis committee consisted of Drs. María Cecilia Fierro Evans, researcher from the Universidad Iberoamericana campus León, and Gema Lopez Gorosave, UABC professor .

Meanwhile, María del Rocío Domínguez Gaona received her degree of Doctor in Educational Sciences after presenting the thesis "The selfaccess center at the Faculty of Languages Tijuana, resources and literacy events," directed by Dr. Guadalupe Lopez Bonilla. Her thesis committee was integrated by Dr. Elena Desiree Zaragoza Castillo, professor from the University of Sonora, and Drs. Carmen Perez Fragoso and Guadalupe Tinajero Villavicencio, IIDE researchers.

Rosalba Pinto presented her doctoral thesis "What does an academic architect and how they see their academic work. Finally, Leonor Marisela Ortega Dominguez presented her doctoral thesis "The formation of professional skills in a part time course. Technical Research Council of the IIDE has a work meeting. On March 1st members of the Technical Research Council of the IIDE gathered to follow up on strategic issues for the Institute, among them were the design and development of the site, the proposed restructuring of the Centre for Educational Information and the application of various supports to address infrastructure needs and equipment. CONACYT evaluates Doctoral program in Educational Sciences from the IIDE. On February 18th, Dr. Lewis McAnally Salas, graduate coordinator, and Prof. Estrella Velasco Lopez, analyst graduate, attended CONACYT facilities to submit the documentation required by the most recent call to ratify the permanence of the Doctorate in Educational Sciences in the National Program Quality Graduate (PNPC).
The results of this competition will be announced on May 2nd.

Principal of the IIDE concludes management of the Mexican Society of Psychology. On February 22th this year, at the headquarters of the Faculty of Psychology at the UNAM, Dr. Joaquin Caso Niebla presented the final report of his leadership of the Mexican Society of Psychology (SMP) in the presence of Dr. Javier Nieto Gutierrez, director of the School of Psychology at the UNAM, Prof. Raymundo Calderon Sanchez, president of the National Council for Education and Research in Psychology (CNEIP), B.A. Galicia Olga Garcia, president of the Colegio Mexicano de Pofesionistas de la PsicologĂa, A.C. (CoMePPsi) and Dr. Alejandro Zalce Aceves, president of this organism. The report informed the main activities carried out during the period 2009-2013, among which stood out: a) the formation of the National Network of psychologists, b) strengthening the relationship with national and international organizations, c) the organization of the editions 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 of the Mexican 8

Congress of Psychology, d) restoration of the Mexican Society Award of Psychology, e) the operation of the National Commission of Ethics in Psychology; f) the impetus to the psychologist's p ro fe s s i o n a l c e r t i f i cat i o n , a n d g ) t h e implementation of a dissemination strategy programs and services of the SMP. The event was attended by members of the Board 2009-2013, professors and students from various educational institutions, and members of the incoming Board of Directors.
Community of the IIDE participates in UABC Radio. As part of the dissemination activities in which the Institute participates, recently were scheduled during the first half of 2013 a series of interviews for UABC Radio, in which are disclosed broad aspects of the dynamics of the Institute, its research projects and information on the most important academic activities in which the Institute participates.
The interviews can be heard on 95.5 FM.
The interviews are part of the program "Sobrerruedas" which airs Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 20:00 hours at the 95.5 FM.
This initial cycle of interviews was attended by Drs. Joaquin Caso Niebla, director of the IIDE, Lucia Coral Aguirre Munoz and Eduardo Backhoff Escudero. For the next few weeks is considered the participation of another group of scholars of the Institute as well as advanced students of our graduate programs.
Staff from the IIDE receives induction course to UABC. With the aim of offering the new personnel to UABC relevant information about the educational model of the University, the Faculty of Pedagogy and Educational Innovation organized the University Induction course, event attended by the MTIC Mayer Cabrera Flores, B.A. Ivan Contreras Espinoza, and Prof. Neftali Soto Gomez, who play the roles of academic technicians, manager and head of the IIDE technical support, respectively.

The course lasted six hours and it took staff and officials in the areas of Human Resources, Planning and Institutional Development, Training and Outreach University, professors from the Faculty of Pedagogy and Educational Innovation.

Participation of the IIDE on liaison course in the IES offered by ANUIES. In order to train personnel from the UABC in the identification, analysis, development, organization and evaluation of linkage processes, recently the University organized the workshop "Linking in the IES" event attended by B.A. Gabriela Zaragoza Peralta , representing the IIDE.
This workshop was led by teaching staff of the ANUIES.
The workshop lasted 20 hours and took place at the premises of the Oceanology Research Institute.
This workshop, which was led by teaching staff of the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES) covered, among other topics, links with private and public institutions, functions and activities to be performed by a link manager, and characteristics of the planning process itself.
