STORIA Le origini della Villa risalgono al 1854, costruita dalla famiglia tedesca Hohenlohe Waldienburg Shillingfurst, proprietaria della tenuta dal 1848.

Nel 1904, a causa della grande distanza dal paese di origine, gli Hohenlohe cedettero la tenuta ai principi Savoia Aosta che a loro volta, lasciarono in eredità al Duca Amedeo D’Aosta. Quest’ultimo avviò la tenuta alla produzione di prodotti locali e adibì il Palazzo ed altre ville a residenza di lusso per le vacanze estive. Nel 1993, incantato dalla pace e dalla bellezza del luogo, Ferruccio Ferragamo decide di acquisire l’intera proprietà e donare ad essa nuova vita attraverso un lungo ed accurato lavoro di restauro.

Un tempo residenza suburbana con funzioni di rappresentanza, oggi raffinata villa neoclassica con 10 suite de charme, personalizzate con un proprio stile.

HISTORY The Villa dates back to 1854, constructed by the German family Hohenlohe Waldienburg Shillingfurst, owners of the property since 1848.

In 1904 due to the great distance from their homeland the Hohenlohe family sold the property to Prince Savoia Aosta of that time, and then inherited by the Duke Amedeo Aosta. The last of these proprietors of the estate re-launched the production of local goods and home-grown produce and the use of the Main Villa and other houses for luxury holidays. In 1993, captivated by the peace and beauty of the estate, Ferruccio Ferragamo decided to buy the whole property and give it a new lease of life, the Villa Il Borro then underwent a long and careful restoration. At one time a suburban residence that held conference, today a refined neoclassic Villa with 10 en-suite bedrooms, all with their own charm, personality and style.

Struttura e Restauro

The restoration

Bombardata durante la seconda guerra mondiale, la Villa nel 1993, al momento dell’acquisto da parte di Ferruccio Ferragamo, si presentava ancora in condizioni di totale disfacimento.

Un lungo ed attento recupero dell’intera struttura originale rende la Villa oggi tra le destinazioni di lusso più esclusive della Toscana.

Le sue origini padronali hanno lasciato tracce evidenti nel restauro con un accurato lavoro nella salvaguardia dei materiali d’epoca.

Filo conduttore del restauro è stato il recupero dei materiali originari e il ripristino di elementi naturali, per far rivivere e assaporare la confortante vita di campagna in completo relax, lontano dallo stress e dalla tensione della città.

L’architettura è quella tipica delle ville padronali toscane dell’Ottocento, con una struttura molto importante e severa ma ingentilita da infiniti dettagli romantici che contribuiscono a creare un’atmosfera esclusiva ed elitaria, all’altezza delle più elevate richieste.

Heavily bombed during the Second World War, the Villa was still in a state of total decay, when Ferruccio Ferragamo acquired the estate.

The internal restoration was to be a long job to recuperate its’ original stature of splendor.

As it stands today it is one of the most luxurious destinations in Tuscany.

Within the origins Villa were left some evident traces of how the restoration should be carried out, with careful work, many of the original materials were preserved.

The main aim of the restoration was exactly this, to reclaim the original materials and natural elements, which give the Villa Il Borro its interpretation of country life – relax, far from stress and tension.

The architecture typical of the large Villas’ of 1800s’ Tuscany, with huge structure severe, but polished with infinite romantic details, contribute to creating an exclusive, elite atmosphere, meeting the highest of expectations.

La struttura della Villa si inserisce perfettamente nel contesto paesaggistico ed architettonico circostante richiamando la semplicitĂ rurale e tipicamente toscana delle costruzioni attigue.

The structure of the Villa situates itself perfectly into the surrounding countryside, entwining suitably with the rural simplicity and adjacent dwellings.

A disposizione degli ospiti: un ampio salone di rappresentanza, una sala da pranzo, un caratteristico studiolo, una piscina riscaldata, zona wellness e fitness, sala da biliardo e molto altro ancora. Abbraccia la Villa un bellissimo giardino all’italiana che come nelle migliori tradizioni è fiorito, ordinato e arricchito da una fontana centrale in stile rinascimentale.

Four poster beds, precious tapestries, and antiques, are only some of the details that characterize the internal side of the Villa, composed of 10 en-suite bedrooms on the two upper floors, each with walk-in wardrobes.

Available to guests is a meeting room, dining room, study, heated indoor pool, mini-gym, billiard room and much more.

Embracing the Villa is the beautiful Italian garden, in the best traditions it is full of colourful flowers and has a central renaissance style fountain.

Una raccolta di incisioni storiche 67 stampe della numerosa collezione privata di Ferruccio Ferragamo, raccolta con passione nel corso degli anni, attraverso una minuziosa ricerca nelle grandi capitali del commercio antiquariale in Italia e all’estero. Un insieme di incisioni dal Quattrocento all’Ottocento, che hanno per soggetto il vino e le sue rappresentazioni in questi quattro secoli di storia dell’arte.

Un percorso alla MOSTRA “VINO e ARTE” in abbinamento ai nostri vini, per un binomio si assoluta eccellenza italiana, di il vino e di arte.

A collection of historical etchings 67 prints from Ferruccio Ferragamos’ private collection, accumulated with passion over the years, through searches amongst the antique trade in Italy and abroad.

An ensemble of etchings dating from 1400’s to 1800’s based on the subject of wine and its’ representations within these 400 years of the story of art.

I Vini del Borro - Il Borro Wines “Il Borro” - “Polissena” - “Pian di Nova” - “Lamelle” Più di 600 barriques in legno francese, lungo i corridoi scoscesi e sinuosi che si snodano e terminano nella vecchia cantina dell’Ottocento.

La degustazione nella “sala ovale”, è il momento ideale per poter assaggiare le nostre etichette in abbinamento ai prodotti tipici del territorio toscano e al nostro olio extravergine di oliva dal gusto intenso e deciso.

Una cantina dal fascino prepotente che lascia capire quanto impegno viene dedicato ogni giorno nella produzione dei vini del Borro, caratterizzati dagli elementi di razza unici che il terreno e le condizioni climatiche della zona sono capaci di creare.

Uve di Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot e il più tipico Sangiovese, per dei vini che di Ferruccio e Salvatore Ferragamo portano la firma e ne sono l’emblema, rappresentanti di un territorio ma soprattutto rappresentanti del loro stile, fatto di grande eleganza.

Over 600 barrels in French wood along the corridor, steep and winding that gradually finishes at the old part of the cellar, which dates from the ‘800’s, connected to the main villa by secret underground tunnels.

The tasting takes place in the “Oval room” when you can try each of our labels together with typical products of the region, cheeses, meats and breads and our extra virgin olive oil, that has an intense and decisive taste.

A cellar with an overbearing fascination, from which you understand how much work is dedicated each day to produce our wines, characterised by the elements of the land and the climatic conditions that the area is capable of creating.

Grapes varieties from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah Petit Verdot and the most typical Sangiovese, are used for our wines that Ferruccio and Salvatore Ferragamo give their name and their emblem to, representing a territory, but above all representing their flair and elegance, produced in grand style.

Ed ecco la cena, momento più atteso dagli Chef dell’ Osteria del Borro che, con estro creativo, propongono menu in stile toscano, dove i sapori classici si fondono con alcuni tocchi innovativi.

L’Osteria del Borro, un ensemble di gusto, sapori e odori, di fronte il panorama mozzafiato del piccolo Borgo, dove l’attenzione e la cura di uno staff di grande professionalità, sarà attento a prendersi cura dei nostri ospiti. Inoltre, Cooking Class e l’allegro “Pic-Chic”, per una pausa di gusto tra i vigneti dopo una lunga passeggiata a cavallo.
