ETERNAL DESIGN BY MARI JJ DESIGN

Mari JJ Design was founded in Stockholm Sweden in 2010 by Maria Juchnowska. Her uniquely designed pieces are handcrafted from the start to the finish product, using classical Meissen decoration techniques rich in gold and platinum. Maria takes her inspirations from Scandinavian minimalism and sophisticatedEuropean art and culture.

EGG VESSELS

The design of the vessels is inspired by the timeless “egg” shape which is a symbol of eternal life. The vessels are designed to be assembled as one object or separated. The owner of the objects can decide on the final look as the vessels are both decorative and functional.

Maria used reverse white on blue decoration playing with the concept of traditional decoration on porcelain, a heritage carried into modern times. The use of expressive brushstrokes can be related to Cy-Twombly paintings. A traditional yet modern gold finish compliments white brush strokes on a blue surface.

"White on Blue" is a porcelain vessel series inspired by traditional “blue on white” porcelain painting, well known in the history of ceramics art.
