Q: Tell us, how does a mathematician become a visual artist?
CR: Very young I completed my Bachelor of Mathematics and continued my education studying classical guitar and composition at the Conservatory of Music in Madrid. While I have been a professor of guitar, jazz, and improvisation at the Music Conservatory of Malaga for the past 30 years, my interest in photography has been with me since I was 12 years old. Q: How does your scientific background influence your creative expression?
CR: My visual work expresses my artistic vision through the interpretation of 3D space, the study of volumes and perspectives, the infinite vanishing points, and the study of color. For example, “Multiverse” which won the best stand prize at the ArtExpo New York processed numerous pictures using mathematical software, creating triangulation points and fractals.
Q: You received over 13 international awards. What is next for you?CR: After "ArtExpo New York 2019” I will return to New York soon, as my work hasbeen well received here.
