Orlando M. Mabutas said during a two-day seminar which was hosted by the police regional office here in close coordination with the

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1 (PDEA-RO1) as part of their stepped up drive against illegal drugs in Region 1.

Police Regional Director Chief Superintendent Orlando M. Mabutas said the seminar was aimed to upgrade the participants’ knowledge on R.A. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2001, and its implementing rules.

“Kailangang kabisado natin ang mga batas upang magkaroon tayo ng kumpiyansa sa pagpapatupad ng mga ito. We can do our jobs much better if we know the proper way to do them in the first place,” Mabutas said.

In celebration of Nutrition Month 2010 and National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, the National Nutrition Council in partnership with ABS CBN-DZMM conducted a BUNTIS CONGRESS Year 8 last August 14, 2010 at the CSI, The City Mall, Lucao District, Dagupan City.

The Buntis Congress aims to raise awareness of pregnant and would-be pregnant women and their husbands on the importance of proper health and nutrition before, during and after pregnancy.

The affair was made

possible with the support and cooperation of Dagupan City led by Vice-Mayor Belen T. Fernandez. Around 280 pregnant women from the city and neighboring municipalities participated in the aforesaid event. The highlights included an opening program, technical sessions on “Nutrition of Pregnant Women”, “How to Bathe the Baby”, “Breastfeeding”, “Postpartum Care for Mom and Baby”, exhibits, distribution of information materials, games, raffle draws and entertainment.
