Australia And India: Head To Head At The G

With the excitement of the Boxing Day Test now well behind us and a quick Twenty20 International tonight to give a taste of what’s to come, Australia and India are preparing to do battle this Sunday in the first match of the ODI Tri-series. After three years absence from the cricket schedule, the tri-series tournament will take the form of a fifteen-match Commonwealth Bank Series, which will see the Australian team eager to retain top position against tough foes. Along with 2011 Cricket World Cup winners, India, Australia will also face World Cup runners up, Sri Lanka, in what is essentially a competition between the three top one-day teams in the world. Sure to attract many thousands of enthusiastic fans, the first match of the series commences at 2.20pm this Sunday afternoon at the MCG, with the day/night format making it likely that play will stretch well into the evening.
