Melburnians have shown that they have room in their hearts for more than one code of football, and with Round One of the official AFL season still some time away, plenty of eyes have turned to AAMI Park to watch our two A-League soccer teams, Melbourne Victory and Melbourne Heart, as they progress towards the pointy end of their season. This Sunday evening, the Heart take on the Central Coast Mariners at home, eager to finish their season on a high note with only five matches to go before the finals series kicks off. Now in just their second season, Melbourne Heart, captained by the Brazilian star known simply as ‘Fred’, will have to perform well to conquer last year’s Championship Runners-Up, now nearing the end of their seventh year in the league. Eager to put on a good show, the Heart would no doubt appreciate Melbourne turning out in red and white and good voice to take on the Mariners and their Yellow Army.
