Last weekend’s reported auction results showed an interesting split between the clearance rate for houses (57%) and the clearance rate for apartments (67%).
Our City Residential office, which specialises in apartment living, has seen increased levels of enquiry over the past month which correlates with the spike in apartment clearance rates.
These figures suggest the market is rebuilding from the lower end, with investors snapping up attractively priced apartments and town houses which is driving the clearance rate upwards.
With an influx of good quality apartments and town houses hitting the market, and an interest rate drop being mooted for next month, buyers and investors who are getting in on the ground floor stand poised to reap the rewards.
This is a positive sign for the market. The re-emergence of investors often sends an encouraging message to home buyers - if savvy investors are re-entering the market to make the most of market conditions, many home buyers are stirred to act too.
