MARKET REPORT
Well it’s spring time in Victoria and we can hardly believe Christmas is just around the corner. In the world of Real Estate we are often heard saying that it’s never dull and from the winter activity we have seen and judging from the level of current enquiry, this again rings true for the upcoming spring into summer seasons.
Around the globe it appears that a second GFC type event may be inevitable and whilst stock markets display never before seen volatility, the Australian dream of owning your own patch of dirt is again at the forefront of investors and occupiers visions alike. If you believe what you read and hear in the media that the dream is becoming more and more remote for many Australians, at Compton Green we continue to be pleasantly surprised by the level of enquiry and number of people seeking to secure a property in the inner west of Melbourne. With banks having recently displayed signs of easing the pain on borrowers by reducing fixed rates on their respective products, we are additionally encouraged by the responsibility shown by the RBA by holding rates. This move promotes confidence in those seeking borrowings to secure the property they desire. This of course has also been fuelled by the banks and independent lenders, eager to gain market share through their attempts to sway you from your current institution.
At Compton Green we are about to introduce some of the most significant changes to the business that it has seen since its inception in 1926. The most significant being the name change from Compton & Green to Compton Green and the removal of the ruby red which has sat along side the distinctive green since the beginning. In addition to the name change you will notice we have a fresh logo that symbolizes our commitment to the environment reflected in the leaf shape incorporating the appearance of the C and the G. The message that we convey is that we understand that real estate transactions represent significant “change” for those involved.
