i am alive dog rescue I Am Alive Dog Rescue (IAA) is a volunteer run organization based out of Brockville, ON. They dedicate all of their time and resources to the rescue of abandoned and unwanted dogs, of all ages, sizes and breeds. They focus on saving the majority of their animals from high-kill shelters and high-risk situations. After rescue, their dogs are placed in foster homes and adopted out to their forever families. The work that Iwona Sobieraj and a countless number of volunteers are currently doing is remarkable. I had the opportunity to witness the arrival of multiple dogs from a Kentucky Pound. Each dog was gently lifted from its crate and placed in the grass. All of these dogs were coming from deplorable situations where they were ill-treated by their human counterparts, yet as each one was let go in the play yard the look of freedom that covered their face was astonishing. One story caught my eye when looking for a new canine addition. A six week old mutt was rescued from a hoarding situation and then diagnosed with parvovirus, a highly lethal disease in dogs. Numerous volunteers and generous followers donated to the

My family adopted this puppy, Boston, who is now a healthy 90+ pound ‘dog-zilla,’ he spends his days eating, sleeping and playing with his canine brother. If it weren’t for the absolute dedication of everyone at IAA we would not have our Boston today. I have the utter most respect for the work that everyone at IAA is doing on a daily basis. They have saved hundreds of dogs over the last couple of years and continue to rescue dogs daily from euthanasia. I will continue to support IAA and donate to help other dogs at their rescue. It is important to remember, if you can’t adopt, then foster, if you can’t foster, make a donation, everything helps.
