A company I really admire is Indigo, which operates chains of
bookstores such as Indigo bookstores and also Chapters and Coles bookstores. I really admire this company because of its involvement in the communities that the company operates in.

“ o Wizard of Oz. No Harry Potter. No Cat in the Hat. No maps of faraway places, or stories about the people who live there. A book can inspire a child to discover the world—and themselves. Nothing is a better indicator of future success than early literacy. But many children in Canada are growing up without books. Indigo partners with high-need schools and their communities across Canada to ensure their children have access to new and engaging books. This I can really admire. Indigo is a company that is active in local communities and strives to improve those communities. Also I admire Indigo for its overall operation. Indigo is trying very hard to become eco-friendly in its daily operations, something that I really respect. Being a huge book company operating in print, becoming eco-friendly is quite difficult, but they are making an effort to conserve energy, reduce waste, and improve the sustainability their products. Indigo also tries to use 100% recycled paper and has made major cut backs in their paper usage. I believe more companies should take the initiate and become more eco-friendly in their operations. I think overall I just admire this company because of how it operates. Indigo is a big company but operates with community in mind. I feel as if the company is not solely out to make a profit but to better the communities they operate in. I believe more companies should run their business and operate like Indigo does.
A person I really admire is my father. He is a self-employed carpenter who traveled between my hometown of Napanee and Ottawa working and providing for his family for years. I admire my father because of his hard work and dedication to every task he tackles. If I could ever gain half the work ethics that man posses I would be lucky. He is someone who does not give up when faced with an obstacle and attacks it head on. He is a perfectionist and a little stubborn, but his work is impeccable in everything he does. Another reason my father is so admiral is because of his patience and understanding of people. He is not one to judge and is empathetic to people and their situations. This I can really admire because nowadays many people are not tolerate of each other and quick to judge. My dad grew up in a really intolerant time, but for my dad not to share the intolerance that many his age posses, I really respect that in him. I try to take after my father as much as I possibly can. He is also one of the funniest people I know, hard working and is probably the coolest person anyone would ever have the pleasure of meeting. I try to take what I admire so much in him and translate that into my own life.
