Starting his company Diamond Supply Co. in the late 1990’s to provide high quality hardware to the skateboard world, Nicky eventually progressed to producing clothing and additional skateboard products. Launching a store in the Los Angelos shopping district quickly helped to solidify Diamond Supply as a major player in the game. Improving the diversity of the company, is the team of professional skateboarders who are sponsored by Diamond Supply. A culture dedicated to the progression of online streetwear sales. Comprised of multiple companies and offering the tools and help to start your own clothing brand, Karmaloop has become a force to reckon with in the online streetwear market. Miss KL, Kazbah, Brick Harbour, Plundr and Karmaloop are the sites that make up Karmaloop as a whole. Each specializing in a certain area of streetwear to offer the widest range of products at a discount price is what makes Karmaloop so unique. The fact that they have packages available to help start and produce clothing for aspiring entrapreneurs. The brain child behind this cultural project is Greg Selkoe, A boston native and an avid entrapreneur. Starting Karmaloop in 2000, with the
vision of creating a company to provide universal reach for hard-to-find boutique goods., Selkoe started up in his parents basement. With the startling success of the online company, Selkoe opened a brick-andmortar store. This store was unfortunately poorly recieved and closed after only 5 years of being open in 2011. The online success of Karmaloop is attributed to the unique way in which they supply consumers with braands they demand. Karmaloop is actively involved in Boston charity work and community awareness, releasing Boston strong shirts and Forever boston clothing in wake of disaterous events. I admire this company because I have my own online retail store and hope to model success after the Karmaloop story.
