The Dutch shipyard Damen Yachting had an ambitious goal in mind: to create one of the world’s best expedition boats. Everyone can share new, exciting experiences while on an expedition on board La Datcha. An undeniable advantage of La Datcha is the possibility not only of hosting, but also of carrying two Eurocopter AS350 B3 helicopters on board. It is the world's best light helicopter for heliskiing, capable of flying and landing in the mountains at low temperatures, whereas the backup system allows it to reach remote destinations, while meeting all safety standards. In some remote areas, this is the only way to get on board La Datcha.

Designer Vasily Spritz has kept the spirit of practical luxury on board that will appeal to any taste. Natural materials, designer furniture, curated lighting and interior design create a calm and relaxing atmosphere. La Datcha has two equivalent master suites and four VIP suites, while the communal spaces allow guests either to socialize or to relax in private, secluded areas. At the end of an eventful day, after a spa treatment and a sumptuous dinner, it is guests can enjoy a cocktail at the bar – which resembles a block of ice –, review the footage on the big screen and discuss the next stop with the captain.

La Datcha's chef will impress the guests with a wide array of cuisines and preferences, but experience has shown that the dishes that make the biggest impact are come straight from the sea. Freshly-caught fish, shellfish and crabs go directly to the galley, where they are often prepared simply, but still retaining their exquisite flavour. They are then served in a traditional way that only enhances the expeditionary experience.

Another beauty of a holiday aboard La Datcha is that one is free to choose his or her own pace of exploration. Extreme trips to volcano calderas and scuba diving can beswapped for a relaxed hike or a leisurely exploration of the coastline by kayak or paddleboard.
