However, the draft charter was not processed because the parliament was dissolved.
13 °.æ.2540 §≥–°√√¡°“√°≈—Ëπ°√ÕßΩÉ“¬ —ߧ¡„π√—∞∫“≈æ≈‡Õ°™«≈‘µ ¬ß„®¬ÿ∑∏ ¡’ 13 February 1997 ¡µ‘¡Õ∫À¡“¬„Àâ∑∫«ß¡À“«‘∑¬“≈—¬®—¥µ—Èß¡À“«‘∑¬“≈—¬·¡àøÑ“À≈«ß¢÷È𠇪ìπ¡À“«‘∑¬“≈—¬„À¡à ‚¥¬‰¡à¬°∞“π– ∂“∫—π√“™¿—Ƈ™’¬ß√“¬¢÷Èπ‡ªìπ ¡À“«‘∑¬“≈—¬ The Chawalit Yongjaiyut governmentûs Social Affairs Committee reviewed the university project and decided to assign the Ministry of University Affairs to propose a project to establish Mae Fah Luang University as a new university, and not to upgrade the Rajabhat Institute.
18 °.æ.2540 §≥–√—∞¡πµ√’¡’¡µ‘‡ÀÁπ™Õ∫ ·≈–·µàßµ—Èߪ≈—¥∑∫«ß¡À“«‘∑¬“≈—¬ (√».¥√. 18 February 1997 «—π™—¬ »‘√‘™π–) ‡ªìπª√–∏“π§≥–°√√¡°“√¥”‡π‘π°“√®—¥µ—Èß ·≈–µàÕ¡“ ¡µ‘§≥–√—∞¡πµ√’( —≠®√) ‰¥âÕπÿ¡—µ‘„Àâ„™âæ◊Èπ∑’Ë∫√‘‡«≥¥Õ¬·ßà¡ ‡ªìπ∑’˵—Èß À≈—°¢Õß¡À“«‘∑¬“≈—¬ The Cabinet agreed with the proposal and hence, appointed then Permanent Secretary of University Affairs Ministry, Dr. Vanchai Sirichana as a chairman of the Establishment Committee. Subsequently, the Cabinet agreed and approved Doi Ngam to be a site of university campus.
