Paktel introduces a new service to send greatings to your family members and friends at very low price.
Paktel GSM launches mobile manners campaign as a public service Responding to the growing need in our society for inculcating good manners in the use of cellular phones, Paktel GSM has launched a unique and creative media campaign to raise awareness of this issue. The multimedia campaign launched by Pakistan’s most innovative cellular service provider focuses on every day situations and delivers effective community interest messages regarding mobile phone usage in public. Explaining the idea behind the campaign, Akbar Khan, National Manager Marketing, Paktel GSM, said that mobile phone usage is relatively a new social phenomena altogether and therefore there are no established customs or niceties in the use of mobile phones in public. As such we now commonly see situations every day where someone’s mobile phone usage is an inconvenience or even a nuisance for others. “Paktel is very sensitive to its business environment and as Pakistan’s pioneering cellular company we felt it was up to us to run this public service campaign for the benefit of all,” he added. Anas Ali Khan, Brand Manager of Paktel GSM remarked: “As a socially responsible company, we want to give something back to the community through this campaign. It is for everyone, irrespective of which network a person is on. In addition this campaign is our way of giving back something to our industry too.” The flow of the campaign has been balanced so that all the messages are taken without any offence and have a long lasting impression on the minds of the people. The electronic media campaign is based on a series of animated stories that show different every day situations to convey the key message of mobile manners. The campaign is purely a public service campaign to encourage people to practice basic courtesies in public while using their mobile phones.

Another first from Paktel GSM: No Extra charges on ANY calls Taking another bold step forward, Paktel GSM has announced that it will absorb all nationwide and interconnect calling costs on its prepaid package and provide a simple flat rate of Rs. 3.75 per minute plus 15% sales tax to its prepaid customers. This essentially means that Paktel will not be charging anything extra on all calls made locally or countrywide. Paktel GSM has introduced the flat rate system that has the lowest calling rate in the market at the moment. "Our packages have been designed specifically in accordance with our aim of bringing the best quality at the lowest rates to our customers." Xavier Rocoplan, CEO, Paktel said, "With the introduction of a flat rate across the country, we have given our customers the choice to go for the best quality and the most extensive network coverage at a cost that suits every pocket. We shall be swallowing the other call costs and the customer won’t be paying anything extra. He said. “Paktel GSM has the simplest and most economical charging matrix in the cellular industry today," Xavier said, "our customers do not have to be bothered with calculating the extra costs before making a call." With its excellent network, coupled with partnerships with premium mobile phone companies and value added options and after sales services, Paktel GSM has firmly established itself as the market leader that offers quality within the budget of every individual. Paktel was the first cellular mobile service operator in Pakistan and for a long time the word Paktel was commonly used as another word for mobile phone. Currently it has a subscriber base of around 450,000. Paktel has entered the digital mobile network market with the launch of its GSM services and formed strategic alliances with mobile giants Samsung and Nokia. The company launched with a staggering 31 cities, something that no other cellular operator has achieved so far. Mr. Rocoplan claims that they are fully equipped with the resources to roll out the fastest expanding coverage and capacity of more than two million connections on its new network in its first year of operations.

Paktel launches in 17 more cities following the most aggressive launch seen in the rapidly growing and highly competitive industry in Pakistan, Paktel GSM has now expanded its network to cover 17 more cities in the country including Hub, Gwadar, Swat, Kohat, Chakri and Haripur. The move is seen as highly beneficial for the further growth of the industry as a whole. According to Akbar Khan, National Marketing Manager, the response to Paktel GSM has been overwhelming, “Paktel as the pioneer cell phone company in the country enjoys tremendous confidence of the public. Our new network is performing superbly and we are living up to our subscribers expectations by further expanding our coverage to 17 more cities,” he said. Speaking about the company’s aggressive expansion plans he added, “Paktel is spreading its wings across the far reaches of the country on a continuous basis. This will enable more people to stay connected and bring even remote areas within the network. We shall soon be reaching more than 200 cities, while ensuring the quality of service. Paktel GSM has a network capacity of more than 2 million connections. The company has regained its number one position after this launch despite many hurdles on the way.
Paktel GSM introduces Paktel for (Limitless validity for prepaid connections)
Life
Pakistan’s premiere cellular company, Paktel GSM has yet again given its customers a reason to celebrate. The company has now introduced a dynamic validity period system that allows customers to have unlimited validity of cards based on the activities within the specified period. Now, whenever a customer uses his/her Paktel GSM connection, his/her validity period automatically increases by 60 days, making it valid for his/her lifetime.
UE OKARA CAMPUS
Explaining the concept of unlimited validity, Xavier Rocoplan, CEO, Paktel said that this unique service has been offered to prepaid customers who have a constant problem of a limited validity of cards and sometimes lose credited Balance because of this. “With this new service, all prepaid customer accounts shall be scanned for activities such as outgoing and incoming calls and outgoing SMS and their validity time period shall be extended further for 60 days. So if our customers have used their prepaid Paktel GSM connections within the specified time their validity will increase and this process will continue every time they use their prepaid connections," he said. The new facility has been welcomed enthusiastically by the public. "When we buy scratch cards especially of higher denominations, we are constantly worried about losing our money because of the limited time period to use up that card, but with this change we can now load up cards with higher balances too," one Paktel GSM customer commented. "Our main aim to introduce this facility is to make our prepaid customers as comfortable with their connections as our post-paid clients. The dynamic validity period system coupled with our superior value-added services give our customers a clear edge over all others in the market," Xavier said.
Paktel GSM customers can now share their balance via SMS Dated: 20/May/2005 Pakistan’s premiere cellular company, Paktel GSM has launched a unique balance sharing facility for its customers. This is yet another Value Addition to their already expanding Value Added Service portfolio. The facility is aptly called ‘Easy Share’ to signify its convenience for the clients. “Paktel GSM has always been the first to bring out the best and most convenient facilities for its subscribers,” Xavier Rocoplan, CEO Paktel said, “Our latest addition to the Value Added Services portfolio-Easy-Share is a unique facility whereby all our customers can share their balance amounts with each other starting with a minimum of Rs. 10.”
UE OKARA CAMPUS
The facility has been greatly appreciated by Paktel GSM customers and dealers alike since this is the first time in the cellular industry that balance sharing facility is available to dealers and customers alike. “Easy Share is an amazing offer and also a brilliant way for me to control my children’s balance requirements,” a concerned father said, “With this new facility, my children do not have to have a large sum of money with them all the time and I can also share my balance amount with them.” “Paktel GSM has come as a blessing for us,” a college student said, “Not only is it the most economical deal in town, but now with easy share it has become more attractive for us.” Paktel GSM dealers also get the advantage of balance transfer through Easy-Share making this offer lucrative for everyone.
Paktel GSM breaks away from distancebased charging regime Dated: 13/Jan/2005 Paktel GSM has taken a ground breaking initiative by introducing one rate for all calls across the country. This drastic reduction in tariff has been done to do away with the concept of distancebased charging. The new rates shall be applicable from 7 am till midnight on all prepaid packages. "This step has been taken on the basis of our philosophy where we believe that we can bring more hearts closer every minute, every day,” Akbar Khan National Marketing Manager said, "the new Paktel GSM blue tariff structure has been designed to bring an end to nation-wide charging practices. Although some other cellular companies have also brought their rates down to equal local call charges, their rates are only applicable within their networks whereas Paktel GSM has slashed all rates for all calls within and outside its network.” "Paktel GSM customers can enjoy call rates at less than Rs.5 within the Paktel network and less than Rs.8 for all calls made to other networks as well as PTCL numbers. This means a huge reduction of Rs.6-8 on nationwide calls," he added.
UE OKARA CAMPUS

Dated: 13/Jan/2005 Paktel GSM has taken a ground breaking initiative by introducing one rate for all calls across the country. This drastic reduction in tariff has been done to do away with the concept of distancebased charging. The new rates shall be applicable from 7 am till midnight on all prepaid packages. This step has been taken on the basis of our philosophy where we believe that we can bring more hearts closer every minute, every day, Akbar Khan National Marketing Manager said, the new Paktel GSM blue tariff structure has been designed to bring an end to nation-wide charging practices. Although some other cellular companies have also brought their rates down to equal local call charges, their rates are only applicable within their networks whereas Paktel GSM has slashed all rates for all calls within and outside its network. Paktel GSM customers can enjoy call rates at less than Rs.5 within the Paktel network and less than Rs.8 for all calls made to other networks as well as PTCL numbers. This means a huge reduction of Rs.6-8 on nationwide calls, he added.Apart from this grand reduction, the first 100 SMS on all prepaid packages are free and value-added options like call waiting, voice mail and conference calling are also included.
