Welcome to our new Public Affairs magazine – designed to give you the latest updates from includem in bitesize form. In the following pages you will find out more about our recent impact, focus on one of our services, our projects and of course our latest public affairs work.
This year we are celebrating our 25th birthday!
Twenty-five years of transforming the lives of children, young people and families across Scotland through practical and emotional support which is shaped by them and for them with the voices of children and young people at the core of our support. Responding not only to their individual needs but also to the needs of the whole family and the community they live in.
Includem support is not a prescribed process or generic programme. We provide a flexible, personalised approach which is informed and shaped by evidence and research. Our work covers everything from early intervention and prevention to intensive family support.
Our job as includem’s Communications & Public Affairs team is to amplify the voices of children, young people and families we work with to you. The people that make decisions that impact their lives on a daily basis.
We know that there are families out there who could benefit from our support, and we look forward to exploring new opportunities of expanding our support in your communities.

We were proud to publish the first edition of URSPACE, our quarterly magazine for children and young people in May last year.
The magazine is a great way for us to communicate what work the wider organisation is doing directly to children and young people.
It has also provided us with a platform to seek views and shape our policy positions.
In April 2025, we will publish Issue 4 will feature information about our influencing and engagement work, upcoming opportunities to respond to calls for views and consultations, and contributions from Natalie DonInnes MSP, Minister for Children, Young People and Keeping the Promise and Douglas Ross MSP in his role as the Convener of the Education, Children and Young People Committees.

We believe that no child or young person should miss out because of circumstances beyond their control. That is why we set up the Young Person’s Fund. Since then it has provided extra support to the children, young people, and families we work with. Many of the families we support are affected by poverty and don’t always have access to things that many of us can take for granted.
We sat down with Nicola Galloway, one of our Team Managers, to discuss the impact of the Young Person’s Fund on the families we support - watch the video by scanning the QR code above or visiting includem.org
