SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Giving back and providing support to our neighbors.

IGNITE YOUR PASSION Volunteer Opportunities at the YMCA

The generosity of others is at the core of the Y’s existence. It is only through the support of our hundreds of thousands of volunteers and public and private donors that we are able to give back to the communities we serve. Volunteers at the Greater Joliet Area YMCA: • Lead our Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, Committees and Branch Advisory Councils • Raise funds to ensure the Y is accessible to all members of our community • Plan our annual Giving Gala • Coach our youth sports teams • Motivate and support youths in our teen programs to help them build the character strengths, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, smart life choices, and the pursuit of higher education and goals • Participate in opportunities to give back and support our neighbors through community service projects and events Our volunteers also play an important role in the success, quality and quantity of the programs we offer. We welcome and appreciate anyone 16 years of age or older who volunteers his or her time and expertise. A background check must be completed before volunteers are allowed to participate in any Y program or activity. To begin volunteering at the Y, please contact: Morris Community YMCA Missy Durkin, Executive Director mdurkin@jolietymca.org (815) 513-8080

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Giving back and providing support to our neighbors.

STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY Greater Joliet Area YMCA 2017 Annual Campaign The Y. For a better us.

The YMCA has been called the “alphabet soup” of social service because we address a variety of needs through our innovative and values-driven programming. In an ever-changing world, we answer each community’s call for help with open arms, working alongside community partners like our schools, healthcare providers and other agencies to help our neighbors thrive. Last year, the four-branches within the Greater Joliet Area YMCA answered 8,000 calls for help in the form of $1.1 million in scholarship assistance to make our facilities, programs and services accessible for all. Each year, that need grows. And yet our arms open wider. At the YMCA, no one is turned away for the inability to pay. We maintain this commitment thanks to gifts from donors like you. Your tax-deductible gift to our YMCA helps teach children to swim, gives seniors a place to connect with others and build strength, provides families with a place to grow together, and allows children to experience stability and the joy of learning in our care. Consider a meaningful gift to the Greater Joliet Area YMCA this year. Your contribution represents an investment in our neighbors, friends and community’s future.

CHAIRMAN’S ROUNDTABLE BANNER CLUB DONORS

Partnering for a Healthier Community by Supporting the YMCA Annual Campaign Banner Club Donors are some of the YMCA’s most committed supporters. Their gifts to the Annual Campaign provide scholarship support to ensure that a Y experience is possible for everyone, regardless of their ability to afford it. These gifts are celebrated with a custom banner, bearing a company logo, family photo

or an image from one of our impactful Y programs. Donations totaling $1,000 receive a banner in one of our four branches, while gifts of $5,000 or more are celebrated with a banner in all four branches. The lists below are for the period of June 1, 2016, through June 1, 2017.
