SPRING SPECTACULAR

All Ages Free Friday, March 21 6-7:30 p.m.

Family nights are held once a month and offer a great opportunity for families to come out to the Y and spend some time with each other, while also getting to know other Y families and testing your trivia knowledge! All attendees must be registered.

Free for the community as well as members. Come on out and get your pictures taken with the Easter Bunny and enjoy a fun Easter themed morning with other Y families. Easter Egg Hunt will begin promptly at 10:15am.

Are you looking for something fun to do on a Friday night with your Y friends? Kids Night Out is your answer! Kids, ages 4-12, are invited to come to the Y for night of fun. Activities include a movie, games, and crafts. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required 48 hours in advance.

Come stop by the Morris Hospital YMCA for this free family event! We will have different activities including a healthy snack from Morris Hospital, a family fitness class and crafts!

PRACTICES AND GAMES

Practices begin the week of April 28. Games will be played on Saturdays beginning the weekend of May 10 at the Morris Hospital YMCA. Ages 4-6 will play 7 regular season games. Age divisions 7 and up will play 6 regular season games and at least 1 playoff game. No games will be held over Memorial Day weekend.

OFFICIAL NFL GEAR

All participants will receive an NFL jersey and flag belt. Mouthguards are required and gloves are recommended. Rubber cleats are recommended, but gym shoes are also allowed. Metal cleats are not allowed. Participants are asked to wear pants/shorts that do not have pockets while competing in games. If you have any questions, please contact:

Cost:

Registration fees will increase by $25 after April 1, 2025. Uniforms will not be guaranteed by the first game for those players who register after April 1.

Practices/ Games:

Practices will be held one day per week beginning the week of April 28. Games will be played on Saturdays at Goodwill Park, beginning May 10. Teams will play seven games. No practices will be held the week of May 26. No games will be held on Saturday, May 24. Players will be provided a hat and jersey. Participants who register after April 1 will pay a $25 late fee and will not guaranteed a uniform by the first game.

SUMMER DAY CAMP

Kids love us — and their parents do too!

At the Y, we provide safe, affordable, and fun camps for youth and teens in grades K-8. YMCA Summer Camps offer kids a chance to have fun while building a healthy spirit, mind, and body. Kids have the opportunity to explore nature, find new talents, try new activities, gain independence, and make lasting friendships.

With summer camp locations throughout Will and Grundy Counties, the Y is your family’s source for fun this summer! For camp locations, pricing, and field trip schedules, please contact the Y today!

WHERE KIDS THRIVE KID ZONE

Before and After School Youth Enrichment Program

In the YMCA’s Before and After School program, kids participate in physical, learning, and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve. Kids have fun, make new friends, and create memories that last a lifetime.

The Morris Hospital YMCA’s Before and After School Program serves children at Morris Grade School and Saratoga Elementary School.

FUN FOR THEM PEACE OF MIND FOR YOU Days Out of School

OPEN TO ALL MORRIS GRADE SCHOOL AND SARATOGA STUDENTS

The Morris Hospital YMCA will offer half-day and full-day programming for students at both Morris Grade School (MGS) and Saratoga Elementary School on days off of school during the 2024-2025 school year. All participants should dress for the weather and bring a sack lunch. Advanced registration is required and space is limited. Fees are non-refundable. The registration deadline is 48 hours prior to the day off school.

Summer Sports Camps

In addition to summer day camp, the YMCA offers a wide variety of sports and specialty camps each summer. Each Y is unique and diverse, just like your child, so programs will vary by location.

Teen Achievers After School Club

One of the Y’s most beloved programs, Teen Achievers provides area high school students with the guidance and support they need to discover their identities, embrace their passions, and become their best selves.

2025 College Tours

Ages 14-21 7 a.m.-6 p.m.

Cost: $30 per tour

All college tours will depart from the Galowich Family YMCA, located at 749 Houbolt Road in Joliet. Departure from the Y may be as early as 7 a.m. and arrival back to the Y will be no later than 6 p.m. Finalized trip itineraries will be communicated the week prior to the tour. Lunch will be provided.

ADAPTIVE SWIM LESSONS

Our adaptive swim lesson program is designed for children with special needs. The goal of this program is to provide basic water instruction and water safety skills in a therapeutic manner with the needs of each individual participant in mind.

SWIMMING FURTHER FASTER

JETS SPRING SWIM CLINIC

REGISTRATION OPENS

The JETS swim clinic is a great opportunity to spend time with the JETS coaches learning new skills and getting an idea of what the team is like. Throughout the clinic, coaches also evaluate swimmers to determine if they meet criteria to be placed on the team. Swim team will launch in Morris starting September 2025. If swimmers do not meet the criteria to join, the YMCA offers swim lesson programs to develop skills.

To participate in the clinic, swimmers must be able to safely swim 25 yards, comfortable with their face in the water. Spots for the team are limited. Clinic registration at a site does not guarantee practice site for the upcoming season.

FIT4U

Free for Facility Members!

If you are looking to start a new fitness routine and don’t know where to start, or if you have taken a break from exercise and want to get back on track, this FREE program is for you! The Y’s Fit4U program offers guidance, knowledge, and motivation to help you lead a healthier lifestyle and become more physically active. This comprehensive 4-week introductory program will introduce you to the Wellness Center amenities, help you set goals, and design a workout program that works best for you. Each appointment will introduce you to a new element of fitness under the guidance of a Wellness Attendant.

PART 1: GETTING STARTED AND BASELINE TESTS

During this opening session, we will assess your current fitness level, set goals, get body composition (if requested), and complete our Fit4U questionnaire. You will have the opportunity to get set up on the YMCA on the Go App and begin orientation on any cardiovascular equipment (treadmills, ellipticals and bikes) that interests you.

PART 2: CARDIO REVIEW AND UPPER BODY STRENGTH

This session will reinforce the basics of using cardio equipment and add instruction of upper body strength equipment based on your fitness goals.

PART 3: LOWER BODY STRENGTH TRAINING

The third session will introduce lower body strength equipment based on your fitness goals and review progress on your new fitness schedule.

PART 4: PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

In this closing session, we will review and answer any additional questions related to cardio or strength equipment, workout progressions, and Personal Training options.

Members who complete all 4 sessions will be entered into a raffle for a free personal training session.

WELLNESS CENTER CERTIFICATIONS

This course is required for teens aged 13 to 15 who wish to access our wellness centers. It is designed to provide a comprehensive and informative session so teens can properly utilize strength and cardiovascular equipment. The fee is $20, and parents are needed for the paperwork.

Full Body Blast is designed to challenge and tone your entire body! This high-energy workout incorporates a variety of exercises that target all major muscle groups, enhancing strength, endurance, and mental toughness.

TRX SUSPENSION AND WEIGHTS

Ages 16 and Up SP1 $60/$120 Tue. 5:30-6:15 p.m.

Instructor: Maureen

In this 45-minute class you will use the TRX Suspension Trainer, along with additional equipment that compliments the push, pull, and rotation actions of the TRX. This will give participants an edge over conventional strength training because these exercises builds true functional strength and improves flexibility, balance and core stability all at once!

ROWED RAGE

Ages 16 and Up SP1,SP2 $60/$120 Mon. 6:30-7:15 p.m. Thu. 4:30-5:15 p.m.

A 45-minute class that include strength and cardio to make up a total body workout. This class uses timed intervals. We will be using rowing machines, dumbbells, battle ropes, kettlebells, and other fun equipment. It’s all the rage!

WALL PILATES

Ages 16 and Up SP1 $60/$120 Fri. 7-7:45 a.m.

Wall Pilates is a low-impact, full body exercise variation of traditional reformer Pilates that uses a wall and a mat to build strength, flexibility, balance and stability. The wall aids in learning proper technique, yet adds new challenges and workout variety compared to traditional mat Pilates routines.
