Preschool & Kindergarten Enrichment Program

REGISTRATION IS UNDERWAY

This program is designed for preschool and kindergarten-aged children, ages 3-6. The focus will be on developing socialization skills, as well as introducing colors, shapes, letters and numbers. Children will participate in learning activities, craft projects, music, gym play and more. Students must be fully potty-trained.

THERE IS A Y IN EVERY FAMILY

Family Events

Free and Open to All

Family nights are held once a month and offer a great opportunity for families to come out to the Y and spend some time with each other, while also getting to know other Y families! All attendees must be registered. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Work with an experienced dance instructor in a one-on-one or small group setting. Sessions can be 30 or 60 minutes in length and will focus on strengthening your dancer’s abilities.

MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY

Gr K-6 2/28 $90

Fri. 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Participants will take a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry.

All participants must bring two snacks, a water bottle, a lunch, and wear your Kid Zone t-shirt. All participants must arrive at the Y no later than 8:45 a.m. All children must be picked up no later than 4 p.m.

Before and After School Youth Enrichment Program

In the YMCA’s Before and After School program, kids participate in physical, learning, and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve. Kids have fun, make new friends, and create memories that last a lifetime. Also serving Bolingbrook & Romeoville areas in partnership with Valley View District 365U

Kid Zone registration for the 2025-2026 school year begins on April 12 for Facility Members and on April 19 for Community Members.

One of the Y’s most beloved programs, Teen Achievers provides area high school students with the guidance and support they need to discover their identities, embrace their passions, and become their best selves.

SUMMER DAY CAMP

Kids love us — and their parents do too!

At the Y, we provide a safe, affordable and fun day camp for youth and teens in grades K-8. YMCA Summer Camp offers kids a chance to have fun while building a healthy spirit, mind and body. Campers will enjoy a summer full of water fun, weekly field trips, sports, outdoor exploration, arts and crafts and more.

Workshop Location: Joliet Junior College - Room U-1024

This workshop will provide students with important resources they can use to prepare for life after high school. Guest speakers will include representatives from Joliet Junior College, Contractors Association of Will and Grundy Counties and Will County Workforce Development. In addition to listening to engaging guest speakers, students will have the opportunity to visit with representatives from a variety of trades, learn more about scholarship opportunities and tuition reimbursement programs. Refreshments will also be served.

If you are looking to start a new fitness routine and don’t know where to start, or if you have taken a break from exercise and want to get back on track, this FREE program is for you! The Y’s Fit4U program offers guidance, knowledge, and motivation to help you lead a healthier lifestyle and become more physically active. This comprehensive 4-week introductory program will introduce you to the Wellness Center amenities, help you set goals, and design a workout program that works best for you. Each appointment will introduce you to a new element of fitness under the guidance of a Wellness Attendant.

During this opening session, we will assess your current fitness level, set goals, get body composition (if requested), and complete our Fit4U questionnaire. You will have the opportunity to get set up on the YMCA on the Go App and begin orientation on any cardiovascular equipment (treadmills, ellipticals and bikes) that interests you.

PART 2: CARDIO REVIEW AND UPPER BODY STRENGTH

This session will reinforce the basics of using cardio equipment and add instruction of upper body strength equipment based on your fitness goals.

PART 3: LOWER BODY STRENGTH STRENGTH

The third session will introduce lower body strength equipment based on your fitness goals and review progress on your new fitness schedule.

PART 4: PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

In this closing session, we will review and answer any additional questions related to cardio or strength equipment, workout progressions, and Personal Training options. Members who complete all 4 sessions will be entered into a raffle for a free personal training session.

Our adaptive swim lesson program is designed for children with special needs. The goal of this program is to provide basic water instruction and water safety skills in a therapeutic manner with the needs of each individual participant in mind.

Learn Choreography to 1 specific Top 40/Current song, taught by a dance teacher. Adult participants will learn choreography as a dancer would. Movements are made for any level. Participants will become more confident through dance! No previous experience needed.
