WHY THE Y The Y is an association of people who have committed to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all people, regardless of their ability to pay. We are a non-profit, charitable organization established to provide programs and services to youth, adults and families in order to strengthen the community. The YMCA is funded locally. Funds raised through contributions, endowments and membership fees are used to provide services in Will, Grundy and part of Kendall Counties.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR PROGRAMS • Online by visiting www.jolietymca.org • In person by visiting your local branch • By phone by calling (815) SAY-YMCA (current members) The Greater Joliet Area YMCA accepts cash, check, MasterCard, Visa or Discover. In most cases, phone registration is accepted for current members when paying by a credit card or electronic funds transfer (EFT). Outstanding balances must be paid before a member will be allowed to register for future programs. Facility Members must maintain their memberships throughout the duration of a program in order to pay Facility Member pricing. System credits and promotional codes may be used online. All classes have a maximum and minimum number of participants. When possible, classes will be added to accommodate wait lists and to expand those offerings that are in high demand. Classes below the minimum will be combined when possible, and as a last alternative, will be cancelled.

Now that we have moved into Phase 5 of the state’s reopening plan, we have returned to full capacity in our facilities, programs, and classes. Because the safety of our YMCA community is our number one priority, we will continue to follow guidance from local, state, and federal health officials to best protect everyone who enters our doors.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT
To maintain a healthy environment, all members and staff will be required to adhere to the following health and safety guidelines when visiting our YMCA facilities. If you have any concerns or questions during your visit, please speak to a member of our staff team.
MASKS AND FACE COVERINGS In line with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local, state, and federal health officials, Y members who are not fully vaccinated should wear masks or face coverings when visiting YMCA facilities. Fully vaccinated individuals who prefer to wear masks when visiting the Y are welcome and encouraged to do so. PLEASE NOTE: YMCA programs held at offsite community locations and schools, including Kid Zone and youth sports classes and leagues, will be required to follow mask guidelines set forth by the host locations.
HEALTH SCREENINGS YMCA members are no longer required to answer health screening questions upon entering YMCA facilities. We encourage members to refrain from visiting the YMCA if they are feeling unwell.
RESERVATIONS Members are no longer required to make reservations to use the wellness centers, gymnasiums, or pools. Reservations are still required for group exercise and water fitness classes. Reservations can be made up to 24 hours in advance through the YMCA On the Go App, by calling the Y, or by visiting the Membership Desk. Before and After School Youth Enrichment Program
In the YMCA’s Before and After School program, kids participate in physical, learning, and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve. Kids have fun, make new friends, and create memories that last a lifetime. The Morris Community YMCA’s Before and After School Program serves children at Morris Grade School and Saratoga Elementary School.

DHS funds are accepted. Financial assistance may also be available for those who do not qualify for DHS funds. Programming runs Monday through Friday on school days and coordinates with each school district’s calendar. A $45 non-refundable registration fee per family and YMCA membership fee (if applicable) are due upon registering. Ten installment payments will be paid monthly beginning in August via automatic withdrawal from a checking account or debit/credit card. If families register after the start of the school year, the first monthly installment will be collected at the time of registration. Participants may start attending Kid Zone four business days after the day registration is completed.
Childcare programs and services are subject to change based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

SPECIAL HOLIDAY ACTIVITY Letters to Santa November 22-December 10 Children are invited to write a letter to Santa and drop it off in the Santa box outside the Y! Every child that writes a letter will have the option to receive a phone call from Santa. Please include a preferred phone number and email address in your letter. Phone messages will be sent December 24. 3 children will also be randomly selected to receive a personalized video message from Santa via email. Attention all parents! If you’re in need of a little time to yourselves, sign the kids up for Kids’ Night Out (KNO)! During KNO, kids, ages 4-12, are invited to come to the Y for a night of fun. Activities include a movie and games. Pre-registration is required 48 hours in advance and all participants must be potty trained. Spots are limited to 15 participants. Members who are not fully vaccinated should wear masks while using Kids Corner.

Facility Members are encouraged to meet with a member of our fitness staff for a free one-hour fitness consultation. During this session, our staff will help you to identify your health and wellness goals, provide you with a fitness evaluation, an orientation in our Wellness Center, and provide you with an overview of our group exercise and personal training programs. This free consultation will help you take the first step on your journey to a healthy lifestyle. FREE Appointments can be scheduled at the Membership Desk.

FALL FITNESS CHALLENGE
Wellness Wednesdays
HO, HO HOLD YOUR WEIGHT FITNESS CHALLENGE
September 1-29 Ages 16 and Up
Fall back into fitness with Wellness Wednesdays! During the month of September, we will feature a different fitness challenge for members to complete. Each time you complete a challenge, you will be entered for a chance to win Y Swag and six months of PRO access to the YMCA on the Go App. Participants who check in for all five Wednesdays will be entered for a chance to win a $100 credit to use towards personal training, membership or any other Y program. Challenges will be posted outside of the fitness center.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF Our eight-week Holiday Weight Maintenance Challenge will help you get in shape and keep the weight off this holiday season. We have a great plan to help you adopt healthy eating and exercise habits while saying ‘No’ to those tempting holiday cravings. Are you up for the challenge? October 16 November 15-20 December 13-18 January 3-7
If you can maintain your weight within 2 pounds for 8 weeks, you will receive your money back in the form of a $20 Y bucks credit that can be used towards any program, including personal training. If you gain more than 2 pounds during this eight-week challenge, $20 will be donated in your name to the Y’s Mission Strong Fund. As part of this fun-filled Holiday Weight Maintenance Challenge, you will receive: • A one-of-a-kind YMCA Holiday Weight Maintenance Challenge T-shirt • Three weigh-ins: Weeks 1 and 8 (mandatory) and Week 4 (optional) • Weekly emails with workout tips, healthy holiday recipes and special fitness challenges, designed specifically for our Weight Maintenance Challenge participants LET’S HAVE A LITTLE FUN THIS HOLIDAY SEASON! Chairman’s Roundtable Donors The Chairman’s Roundtable (CRT) recognizes major donors to the Greater Joliet Area YMCA whose cumulative gifts to the Mission Strong Fund, Gala, and Endowment Earnings total $1,000 or more in a calendar year.
