TOGETHER Because the health and safety of our YMCA community remains our top priority, we are doing everything possible to ensure our facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety. We have also made modifications to our policies and programs to facilitate new safety and social distancing guidelines. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT To maintain a healthy environment, all members and staff will be required to adhere to the following health and safety guidelines when visiting our YMCA facilities. If you have any concerns or questions during your visit, please speak to a member of our staff team.
Required Health Screening Upon entering the YMCA, both members and staff will be required to answer 5 health screening questions: 1. Have you or anyone in your household traveled to another country in the last 14 days? 2. Have you been in contact with someone under investigation for, or with a confirmed case of, COVID-19 in the last 14 days? 3. Have you or a family member in your household been instructed to self-quarantine? 4. In the last 3 days, have you experienced a fever of 100.4 or higher? 5. Are you currently experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19? For the safety and well-being of our YMCA community, anyone who answers YES to any of the above questions will not be permitted to visit the YMCA on that day.
Masks Are Required Both members and staff will be required to practice social distancing and wear a mask or face covering when visiting the Y. Members should plan to have a mask or face covering with them at all times, and will be expected to wear it at the Y when not using the pool.
Frequent Handwashing and Sanitizing Members and staff will be asked to help prevent the spread of germs by washing their hands upon entering any YMCA facility. For your convenience, we have installed additional hand sanitizers throughout our YMCA.
Required Equipment Wipedown When using the wellness center, please remember to wipe down equipment before and after use with the EPAapproved disinfectant we have provided.
Staggered Equipment To allow for social distancing, some equipment in our wellness center may be temporarily closed or relocated.
Limiting Class Sizes and Room Capacities To ensure members can safely practice social distancing while visiting the YMCA, we will temporarily be limiting the number of people allowed in YMCA classes, programs, and spaces. In the wellness center, members will notice that red boxes have been installed on the floor around certain pieces of equipment. To ensure social distancing, only one person is permitted in each red box at a time.
We ask for your continued cooperation as we work together to keep our members and staff safe and healthy. We want to keep our doors open for as many members as possible. Doing so means taking safety seriously. If you have any concerns or questions at any time during your visit, please speak to a member of our staff team. To read more about our Health and Safety guidelines, visit www.jolietymca.org.

Because the health and safety of our YMCA community is our highest priority, the Y will be implementing new guidelines to ensure swimmers, their families, and our instructors can maintain social distancing during swim lessons.
• A parent or guardian will be required to be in the water assisting their child during Preschool Stages 1-3 and Youth Stages 1-2 swim lessons until further notice. • As they have in the past, a parent or guardian will also be required to be in the water with their child during Stages A and B swim lessons. • Lane lines in our lap pools have been adjusted to ensure social distancing and all participants in all swim levels will be spaced 6 feet apart during swim lessons.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION AS WE WORK TOGETHER TO KEEP OUR COMMUNITY HEALTHY AND SAFE.

FOR HEALTHY LIVING
Improving the nation’s health and well-being. Because we know that healthy lifestyles are best achieved by nurturing our mind, body and spirit, well-being and fitness at the Y is so much more than just working out. Beyond fitness facilities, we provide educational programs to promote healthier decisions, and offer a variety of programs that support physical, intellectual and spiritual strength.
SWIMMING FURTHER FASTER Joliet YMCA JETS Swim Team One of the area’s most historic youth swimming clubs, the Joliet Y JETS Swim Team is a year-round developmental competitive swimming program that offers instruction and training for swimmers, ages five and up. Swimmers of all ages will learn the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship and setting and achieving goals while developing their competitive swimming skills. The JETS Swim Team supports the YMCA’s mission of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities, and our professional team of coaches strive to not only build strong swimmers but caring, honest, respectful and responsible children and young adults.
What can I expect when my child joins the JETS?
Who can join the JETS?
To learn more about the JETS Swim Team, please contact:
To make the beginning level of the team, swimmers must be able to swim one length (25 yards) freestyle and one length (25 yards) backstroke comfortably, without a flotation device.
A member of both YMCA and USA Swimming, the JETS participate in a variety of meets throughout the year, although competition is not mandatory. The team practices up to six days a week at four locations throughout Will and Grundy Counties. Swimmers are encouraged to attend practices and work hard, but there are not mandatory practice attendance requirements.
