In the YMCA’s Before and After School program, kids participate in physical, learning, and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve. Kids have fun, make new friends, and create memories that last a lifetime.

The YMCA’s Kid Zone program is designed to meet the needs of local families. When enrolling in the Y’s before and after school program, families can choose from the following enrollment plans.
1-2 Days Per Week

Plus a one-time annual $45 nonrefundable registration fee per family.
At the Y, no one is turned away due to the inability to pay. DHS funds are accepted. Financial assistance may also be available for those who do not qualify for DHS funds.
Kid Zone monthly installment payments will be paid via automatic withdrawal from a checking account or debit/credit card. Participants may start attending Kid Zone four business days after the day registration is completed.
There must be 10 registered students to run the program on-site at the elementary schools. After August 3, sites will be confirmed and families notified.
One of the Y’s most beloved programs, Teen Achievers provides area high school students with the guidance and support they need to discover their identities, embrace their passions, and become their best selves. CLICK
Teen REACH (Responsibility, Education, Achievement, Caring, and Hope) is a FREE after school program offered in partnership with Joliet Public School District 86. Hosted at the district’s four junior high schools, Teen REACH programming incorporates the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, and includes a resource-rich curriculum that provides students with academic support, life skills education, recreational opportunities, mentorship, STEM, and service learning activities.
Program Hours Monday through Friday, on school days, from dismissal until 6 p.m. Program will not run on early dismissal days.
Kids, ages 10 and up, are invited to check out our new Teen Center, which will feature a healthy eating kitchen, 3D printers, a sewing machine, and additional Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) equipment.

Participants in this class will learn the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care to infant and school age children in the absence of parents. Emphasis will be placed on safety and safe play, first aid and developing skills in leadership and professionalism. Each participant will take home their own training manual and materials. ‘I HAVE DREAM, WHAT’S NEXT?’ - CAREER WORKSHOP
Saturday, January 28 9:30-11:30 a.m.
This workshop will provide students with important resources they can use to prepare for life after high school. Presenters will include representatives from Joliet Junior College, Contractors Association of Will and Grundy Counties, Will County Workforce Development, and Will County Career Center. Students will also learn about union trade apprenticeships and tuition reimbursement programs. Refreshments will also be served.
‘PLANNING FOR YOUR FUTURE’ - COLLEGE FINANCIAL

This workshop will be offered in partnership with the Give Back scholarship program. Students will learn about the Give Back scholarship process and identify additional financial resources that may be available to them prior to entering college.
‘DIRECT TECH EFFECT’ - TECHNOLOGY WORKSHOP
