Kidz Zone
WHERE KIDS THRIVE The Morris Community YMCA’s Kidz Zone before and after school program serves kindergarten-fifth graders at White Oak and Saratoga Elementary Schools. Children do arts and crafts, play games, develop friendships and learn lessons that will last a lifetime. WHERE KIDS GO TO GROW Designed for children, ages 2-4, preschool programs at the Y are so much fun! Through a variety of activities that are both structured and open play, our dedicated staff members teach, model and reinforce the Y’s Christian character values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Does your two-year-old love to read stories, play with friends, and play games? Tiny Tot Two’s is a great way to introduce your two-year-old to a semi-structured environment. Three That’s Me! (Age 3) Three That’s Me! is a great way to get your three-year-old introduced to a classroom setting. Wellness Center Certification (Ages 13-15) This class is required for teens who wish to have access to our Wellness Center. The class is designed to give a comprehensive and informative training so teens can properly utilize strength and cardio equipment. Teens will be required to pass a written and practical test the day of the course to receive certification. Please note: Teens WILL NOT be allowed to use the free weights or plate-loaded equipment for safety reasons. Held Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. and by appointment. $15

GET YOUR SWIM ON Joliet YMCA JETS Swim Team Expands to Morris Fall Swim Clinic
August 31-September 3 • 5:30-6:30 p.m.
This is your opportunity to spend time with our coaches to learn new drills, improve your swimming skills and meet members of the JETS family. Swimmers do not need to be YMCA members to participate in the clinic. At the completion of the clinic, swimmers who wish to join the team will be given a group placement along with registration materials.

JETS Flight School is an introductory, pre-competitive experience to the Joliet Y JETS Swim Team. An experienced swim coach will work with swimmers to develop proper technique in each of the competitive strokes. In addition, students will learn new skills, such as streamlines and racing dives. Swimmers must have the endurance to swim one length of the pool without a flotation device while demonstrating rotary breathing and the ability to float comfortably and confidently on their stomach and back. Swimmers should be evaluated before registering to ensure that Flight School is an appropriate option. Please note: This program takes place at the Morris High School pool.
