Carpenters: Close to You (My Music) Thursday, December 3 and Saturday, December 5 at 8pm The Carpenters were the top American recording act of the 1970s. This music-filled documentary features interviews with Richard Carpenter in addition to the group’s musicians, friends, and colleagues, including Herb Alpert, Paul Williams, Burt Bacharach, and Petula Clark. Also: never-before-seen footage, concert performances, studio recording sessions, and archival television appearances.
Classical Rewind 2 (My Music) Friday, December 4 at 8:30 pm Join actor-conductor David Ogden Stiers (M*A*S*H) for a feast of works from the masters. Visual interpretations of the music include clips from stars of the silent film era, Model-T Fords racing to the music of Mozart, a 1960s comic’s take on an 1870s dance, and a musical interpretation from one of the Marx Brothers.
Doc Martin: Seven Grumpy Seasons Sunday, December 6 at 7pm Go behind-the-scenes at the picturesque seaside village of Port Isaac during the filming of Doc Martin’s highly anticipated seventh season. Harmonia In Italia: A Renaissance Christmas Thursday, December 24 at 9pm
In the 16th century, the splendor of the Renaissance blossomed across Italy as a new Holy Roman Empire stretched its wings from the Urals to the Atlantic. This holiday edition of Harmonia brings you music from the Venetian world of Giovanni Bassano and Gioseffo Zarlino, Members of IU’s Historical then moves westward to the Performance Institute in Milan of Franchinus Gaffurius, concert and south to the Naples of Diego Ortiz. Music of the Nordic Venetian Michael Praetorius provides a glorious grand finale. The concert is directed by Dr. Dana Marsh and Wendy Gillespie of the Historical Performance Institute of the IU Jacobs School of Music, with some of America’s most outstanding young voices and players.

Sesame Street has been educating and entertaining the world for more than 45 years, but this concert special marks the Muppets’ first performance with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra. The concert includes a rendition of the classic carol from Sesame Street “Keep Christmas With You,” “Sing a Christmas Carol” from Scrooge, “The Candy Man,” a charming medley of songs from Sesame Street programs, and inspiring arrangements of sacred Christmas music.
