Hoosiers: The Story of Indiana and Celebrate Indiana: The Bicentennial Gala Join us on Sunday, December 11 for a day-long celebration of Indiana’s 200th birthday with an engrossing new documentary capped off by one of the most anticipated events of the year. The celebration begins at 2pm with a Hoosiers: The Story of Indiana marathon. The series explores Indiana’s 200-year history through the descendants of ordinary Hoosiers who lived through extraordinary times, while helping to shape the fabric of our state.

Hoosiers from around the state gather at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis to celebrate Indiana’s 200th birthday with a look at the state’s past, present, and future.

Along the way, we discover the lesser-known details of our Hoosier story, and we see how the past, present, and future intersect to reveal the Indiana yet to come.

The Bicentennial Gala will feature special guests, performances by Hoosiers, and a celebration of the heritage that makes up the 92 counties in the state.

The four-part series will be shown in its entirety from 2 to 5pm. (You can also catch individual episodes on Thursdays at 10pm starting December 8.) Then at 6pm, join us for a once-in-a-lifetime event: Celebrate Indiana: The Bicentennial Gala.

Highlights include remarks from Indiana Governor Mike Pence and First Lady Karen Pence; remarks from co-chairs of the Indiana Bicentennial Commission Becky Skillman and Lee Hamilton; and performances by Anderson, Indiana, native singersongwriter-pianist Jon McLaughlin, and others.
