“I LOVE THE EXPERIENCE, THE PEOPLE, AND THE CAMPUS.” Sara Bayed’s job was to be a guide and translator for the women’s soccer team visiting her native Morocco from Indiana State University. The 2014 interaction changed her life forever. PEOPLE | ALUMNI
“I WAS LEARNING AND GETTING HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE THAT WAS SIMILAR TO THE WORK I DO NOW.” Rishav Raj, GR ’17, of India, knew he wanted a graduate program that would take his career to the next level. Indiana State’s master’s program in computer science was perfect for him. “I liked the way Indiana State’s program was designed with two tracks—professional and academic. Since I worked previously in the field of computer science, I had the option of going toward the more challenging academic track.” Between Raj’s graduate assistantship in University Marketing and the program’s focus on real life skills, he was more than prepared for his post-graduation employment as an application developer at Clabber Girl in Terre Haute, Indiana, USA.
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED ABOUT THE USA: “People are very friendly over here, and if people know your goals, they help you to achieve them. When you ask for help, they help.” HOW I SPEND MY DAYS: “I keep myself busy researching and developing different applications for my company and then have some leisure time with my friends in evening.”
