THE FREEDOM TO DRESS REGARDLESS OF GENDER

DAVID BOWIE

CHANGED THE RULES Emerging as neither a precise male nor female force but something totally in between, Bowie set the tone for unflinching individualism and a brazen disregard for gender expectations.

our brands philosophy... MOLTi UOMiNi is a Contemporary menswear brand that primarily communicates and connects with it’s customers through our clothing, helping them fulfil a creative, positive lifestyle. As a brand we provide men with the opportunity to express their individuality, making them feel confident to be who they are, through the clothes that they wear. MOLTi UOMiNi lets men escape uniformity by providing a variety of clothing and an experience that lets them have their own personal vision. As MOLTi UOMiNi means ‘many men’ in Italian it reflects us as a brand reaching out to people with our bright, diverse designs making them stand out, encouraging people to come together and express themselves and us as a brand. We’re an independent British street wear label that continues to be inspired by youth nostalgia, with a deep understanding of culture and the things that make it relevant today. As we create new solutions for innovation through our design process, We offer a unique design aesthetic that has traditional menswear techniques but offers a modern interpretation of masculinity through the design, print and silhouettes.

Helping people & showing acts of kindness. I work at a hospital in a department where I meet sick & dying people on a daily basis. A helping hand, giving advice, having a chat or showing acts of kindness gives me a huge sense of fulfilment & satisfaction.

I am guilty of trying to be a perfectionist in all that I do. This can sometimes cause unnecessary pressure and disappointment if the desired result is not achieved.

Listening to music. I enjoy all types of music but especially Classical. Whether at home doing chores or driving home after a hard day at work, listening to music I enjoy always makes me feel happier and calmer.

Worrying/Fear. What people have read in the papers or watched on the news invariably becomes a topic of conversation on a daily basis. The headlines are often negative and cause people to to worry and form negative opinions about other people & cultures. Sometimes the worry impacts on their daily lives to such an extent it prevents them doing such activities as shopping or going on holiday to certain locations.

No, my life has been an emotional roller coaster due to numerous bereavements in my family. A particularly difficult time was a fe years ago when my brother tragically lost his life as a result of an industrial accident. It was completely unexpected and threw my families life into turmoil for many months. The support from my husband and daughter got me through. Our relationship and bond became stronger as a result.

Yes, ultimately I believe working on being happier as I get older. I strive to worry about less realising life is too short. I look forward to having more time with my husband doing the activities we enjoy before ill health or old age prevents us from doing so. I find the smallest things make me happy on a daily basis like having a cup of tea from a pretty cup or hearing birds sing when I wake up on a sunny morning.

I enjoy reading books but I am dislike being disappointed when they are adapted into films and a lot of the detail or content is missing or I think the casting is wrong.

To me, the point of feminism is to be inclusive. - Petra Collins

Oh, hello there...

FASHION COMMUNICATOR.

Hey there! I’m currently a second year Fashion communication student at Leeds College of Art. My love for design comes from a desire to understand how to connect with an audience. I love bringing messages and stories to life, and exploring my practice through different skills. I am an ambitious and reliable individual who is able to handle pressure and multi-task, while working as part of a team. My favorite creative skill I posses is creative direction, I love creating narratives behind my work while bringing it to life through clothes and photography as I think this is such an important part of fashion, connecting with your audience. To further my creative direction, I would love to develop my film skills as I think film is such an amazing way to connect with people and I feel moving image is the future of fashion. A person who is doing this at the moment is Julian Klincewicz. His work is so influential to me, I discovered him about a year ago and I love everything he does as its so unique. To me the 80’s has a strong influence on my style and work I produce. The use of strong colour, high waisted jeans and the freedom to wear anything with everything. Not just the fashion in the 80’s inspires me but also the music, artists like Wham, Queen and Madonna. A quote from one of my favorite designers Paul Smith I think about a lot when creating my work is “ you can find inspiration in everything” while watching one of his documentary’s a few years ago, my outlook on my work changed a lot by becoming more free and open to new possibilities in my work. I have developed a lot as a creative through the past two years, through the course and from industry experience such as my week at stylist live where I learnt the importance of organization and time management. In three years’ time I hope to see myself working for an established company within communications helping promote brands and concepts.

As your company is so established and will give me such an amazing experience, i would bring a lot to the team, and i will be a strong support to the team as much as you will be to me. I have a cheerful personality and a keen interest to learn the industry through yourselves’, i have A ‘can do’, enthusiastic, efficient attitude and a strong work ethic which is essential to becoming a strong contributor to this dynamic company. As you will see from my attached CV, I believe I have the necessary skills, along with the commitment and enthusiasm to both contribute and benefit from an experience with your company. I have gained some relevant work experience over the past few years that has given me valuable skills to carry through with me when working with new companies. You will see from my CV that I have experience in working with teams. I enjoy a fast paced environment with organization and presentation qualities in my current part time job which is valuable skill when working with professional company, such as yourselves.
